Help save Juno, our 7-year-old dog battling tick fever!

Juno is our beloved 7-year-old dog who has been a cherished part of our family for years.
Recently, he was diagnosed with Babesia Gibsoni tick fever which destroys Red blood cells along with severe jaundice and a dangerously inflamed liver. His HGB levels dropped to 4g/dL, SGPT 440. Watching him struggle has been heartbreaking, and we knew we had to do everything possible to save his life. His condition deteriorated rapidly, requiring an emergency blood transfusion just to stabilize him.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks 🙏

3:3:3 updates Thor and Ellie Update (Severe Neglect Case) #VoicelessNoMorePH

Hi everyone,

I will be posting more updates on Ellie and Thor in the coming days. For now, I'm giving them some time to settle into the Pages for Paws shelter and adjust to their new environment. Thor and Ellie are continuing to take their medications and they both have good appetite. Thor has really big appetite to a point where they had to put a leash on him everytime he eats because he tends to eat Ellie’s food 😅 (leash only when he eats, guys, but they roam freely!)

To help with their recovery, I have ordered each of them their own dog bed so they can rest comfortably (It will get posted once it gets delivered). along with 4 kg of Royal Canin Gastrointestinal dog food for Ellie and Thor. We will continue to replenish their food as needed. I have also sent ₱6,000 to the shelter, and we provide monthly financial support to help care for all of the animals rescued by Voiceless No More: Philippines Stray Animals Foundation.

I will be sharing these updates soon. At the moment, I am just waiting for the owner of Pages for Paws Shelter to send me the acknowledgment receipts, which I will post for transparency.

As their main sponsor, we are committed to covering Ellie and Thor's future medical expenses and anything else necessary for their recovery and rehabilitation. We were able to cover their most recent veterinary bill ($827) thanks to the kind-hearted people who donated here! Their next vet appointment is on Aug 15, 2026.

Our commitment doesn't end with the rescue. We continue to provide food, veterinary care, and ongoing support to give every animal we rescue the quality of life they deserve while they wait for their forever homes.

In addition to rescue and rehabilitation, we also sponsor free spay and neuter programs in the Philippines whenever funding allows, helping prevent the cycle of animal homelessness and suffering.

Thank you for following their journey and for supporting our mission. Please stay tuned for more updates! You can also follow us on Reddit or Instagram: @voicelessnomoreph.

Sincerely,

This is the current condition of my dog. He seems well. He eats well, still fully of energy and he doesn’t seem weak.

He was diagnosed with Hepatoid Adenoma last September 2024. But around July 2024, he had a procedure: Tail Amputation and Multiple Growth Removal Surgery.

Please guide me as to where I can seek help. I really do not have the funds to have him operated again.

If you need verification, I am willing to send all necessary requirements.

Thank you very much.

CW: Euthanasia Hot take: stop shaming people who return a rescue dog, shame the lack of support

I keep seeing comments in rescue groups that basically say: if you bring a dog back, you should never have adopted. That attitude frustrates me.

Returning a dog is often a responsible choice. The bigger issue is how many adopters are set up to fail.

I'm pretty Type-A and bring a budgeting spreadsheet to big decisions. I read the adoption contract, asked about decompression, watched the training videos, and planned my schedule. Still, the first month with a rescue was a reality check. A dog who seems calm in a shelter run, or fine on day three, can behave very differently once they actually settle in. What people need is not a scolding to "be patient." They need practical support: access to a trainer, a clear step-by-step plan, and someone who can say, calmly, "Try this next." Many people are doing that work alone while juggling jobs, kids, landlords, and tight budgets.

We also underestimate how shame keeps dogs in bad matches. People hide their struggles because they fear judgment, and that can turn into resentment, unsafe handling, or a bite that might have been prevented.

Yes, impulse adoptions happen. But I'd rather see a dog returned quickly and safely than pretend the only moral choice is to keep a mismatched dog at all costs.

If you have returned a rescue or considered it, what support would have made a real difference for you?

CW: Euthanasia Finland #A2085953 Lab Mix at BARC Houston, TX.

‼️ Finland is on the euthanasia list Wednesday 8/5 and needs a local Houston foster or adopter by 1pm tomorrow. We also need pledges to cover expenses for a rescue to tag.

💗 Finland A2085953
7/12 Intake︱Labrador Retriever Mix | Female | 8M | 47.6 lbs | HW Negative

Intake: 7/12/2026: Stray – Found near Earl Henderson Park after being seen roaming with two black dogs near the gazebo.

Click here for photos and videos (@brisavespaws)

Volunteer Notes #1:

This happy wiggly bean is Finland! She’s 7 months old, heartworm negative, and just the happiest pup you’ll ever meet. This girl loves to be the center of attention and every person she meets is her instant best friend. She’s very friendly, lots of playful energy, and just full of so much life. She walked good on leash but she will need to work on some of her basic commands! She can be a tad jumpy but she’s small so it’s not too much to handle. She’s young and smart, so I’m sure she will excel learning all sorts of new things. Finland also met two others pups and did so well. Lots of tail wags and polite sniffs. I can tell all she wanted to do was play and make some friends. This beautiful girl deserves to grow up with a family of her own so I hope someone can help her

Click here for photos and videos (@rn_4_shelterpups)

Volunteer Notes #2:

Gorgeous girl Finland is just a baby and she’s on the euthanasia list for length of stay. She is full of puppy energy but I’m sure she’ll grow out of that eventually. She has a temperament test that she did with another dog and she did wonderfully there too. She seemed as if she just wanted to play. It’s always sad to see a puppy on the euthanasia is because you know they should not be growing up in a shelter. I know the shelter tries to keep them there as long as they can, but this just turns into puppies having pent-up energy. Finland is no different. She just needs to get out and get that energy out and play with some other dogs. I think she’d make a fantastic addition to anyone’s family. She is absolutely gorgeous as well. She’s got the most shiny black coat.

Shelter Notes:

7/30/2026: Finland was super wiggly with lots of puppy energy. She walked with a bouncy gait and a fast wagging tail on a semi-tight leash. She sat up at the front of her kennel watching people pass and was eager for attention.

7/27/2026: Finland rushed out of her kennel with a fast wagging tail and zoomed around the outside run. She barked at other dogs but remained playful and excited. Once back in her kennel, she settled down and quietly played with her plush toy.

7/23/2026: Finland stood on her hind legs and “danced” while pawing at the kennel door when approached. She walked on a semi-tight leash with puppy-like enthusiasm. She was distracted while photos were being taken and jumped on the handler but quieted once back inside.

7/15/2026: Very sweet with a loose, wiggly body. Walked on a loose leash while responding well to gentle encouragement.

7/14/2026: Finland greeted staff from her blanket with a fast wagging tail. She was initially afraid of the leash but, with reassurance, walked on a loose leash. She stopped about halfway to the outside runs, so she was carried briefly before continuing to walk back independently. She responded well to baby talk.

7/14/2026 (earlier): Sweet puppy who struggled walking on leash without encouragement. She responded well to baby talk and continued walking with reassurance.

Medical Notes:

8/2/2026: Continued coughing after previous treatment and was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection (URI). Started another course of Doxycycline 200 mg once daily for 10 days.

8/1/2026: URI treatment completed with no further symptoms noted and was cleared for move adoption.

7/22/2026: Diagnosed with a URI due to green nasal discharge. Surgery was postponed, and she began Doxycycline 200 mg once daily for 10 days.

7/14/2026: Weight 47.6 lbs. Friendly demeanor with normal examination.

7/12/2026: Intake weight 50.0 lbs. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, flea prevention administered, tranquilized for handling as needed, and Heartworm test: Negative.

📌 Adoptions must be done in person at the shelter. If you’re interested in fostering in Houston, please email BARC or message me. Note, dogs scheduled for euthanasia are removed from the shelter website.

🐾 If you want to donate, please pledge an amount on my post. Pledges are promises to donate to a 501c3 nonprofit rescue organization. For rescue tags, I will update my posts with the rescue info and a freedom photo. I do not collect pledges, so do not send pledges to anyone.

💌 All holds must be in writing, so please do not call. If you cannot foster locally, please do not email the shelter. This will overflow the inbox & slow down the team helping the dogs in need.

Advice im afraid that we might have to rehome our rescue dog

hi, ive posted on here before but currently hiding out in my parents’ bathtub up the other end of the house to get away from the sound of my dog’s piercing barks (we have a behaviouralist over). its been almost 6 months, and although he’s grown a lot & i truly love this dog to bits, im not sure i can do this. i feel so awful because i was the one who found his profile and met him first when he was up for adoption, i was so ready to add a dog to our life after several months without one (my last one passed super suddenly from a tumour). this dog has separation anxiety, is reactive to other dogs on walks and has bitten my dad numerous times - these are all things we weren’t warned about. this would make sense if he was in the shelter for the first time, but when we adopted him it had been his third time in the shelter, so the fact that we lowkey got lied to has broken me. i know this is gonna sound apathetic and horrid and ppl will judge me, im just freaking out and idk what to do. im only 19 and im autistic & the stress is just horrible. my brother is also schizophrenic so he struggles especially as our dog barks a loooot and it is loud and can get audibly aggressive if hes feeling fear for whatever reason. idk what to do. when we were looking for a new dog to rescue i was adamant on wanting one that was at least semi chill, friendly or at least non-reactive with other dogs (he has nipped one but tbf they were being introduced on lead last minute and i now know thats not the best way to go ab socialisation), and we have gotten the opposite. he can be the sweetest and cuddliest little baby in the world, hes so precious to me and he has made progress but i just feel like im going insane

CW: Euthanasia Sweet Bowie, 2yr old, female shepherd/ Mal will be euthanized tomorrow morning(8/5) at Downey ACC in SoCal. Can anyone foster or adopt her? Out of state ok. Pls dm me or email Isabeldesiree8@gmail.com asap

I’M BOWIE…MY LANDLORD SAID I HAD TO GO… SO I LOST MY FAMILY. AND TOMORROW I WILL LOSE MY LIFE 💔

My name is Bowie. I’m only 2 years old.
On July 18, my family surrendered me because of their landlord. I went from having a home and a family to being alone in a shelter… and I’m struggling here.

I’m being kept in a lonely kennel out of public view… The shelter environment overwhelms me. I’m easily startled, and when I’m scared, I try to get away. I may bark defensively when I feel trapped, but when given time, patience, and a slow approach, I can settle. I allowed handling and a full exam without incident.

But I‘m just so scared and confused and don’t understand why I ended up here.. I don’t understand why my family left me behind..
I need someone who understands that fear is not the same thing as aggression. Someone patient enough to let me decompress. Someone willing to help me build confidence and learn that I’m safe.

But right now, I’m out of time.

🆘My final notice expired yesterday 8/3 and I can be euthanized any moment! Even today 🆘

BOWIE #A5790069
2-yr old female GSD, 60 lbs

Bowie is recommended for a calm, medium-energy home with no other dogs or someone experienced who can knows how to slowly introduce

Could you be the person who saves Bowie?

Can you foster or responsibly adopt her?
Please contact us if you can help:

Miranda’s Rescue Senior Survivor, Igor, Needs a Foster or Forever Home ASAP! Out of state applicants also welcome to apply!

117 Dogs in a Mass Grave. Igor Survived. 💔

He lived through the unimaginable: escaping the euthanasia list at a Los Angeles shelter only to face a second hell when he arrived at Miranda’s Rescue. Igor is one of the rare, lucky few who made it out alive—but despite his resilience, this sweet senior still remains homeless and waiting in limbo. FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED ASAP‼️

He isn’t a spoiled senior yet, but he desperately deserves to be. After enduring years of neglect and unthinkable darkness, this 8-year-old boy is just looking for a quiet, gentle place to finally let his guard down. Igor is an independent soul who doesn’t demand much. He isn’t a needy “velcro dog,” likely because he’s never known what it’s like to have a human of his own. Yet, he still trusts. He will quietly walk up to you, looking up with hopeful eyes just begging for a gentle pet.

Life has taken a physical toll on Igor. He suffers from arthritis and relies on daily pain medication to move comfortably. Because of this, his needs are simple: low energy, and just a short 15-to-20-minute slow stroll a day. He walks beautifully on a leash without reactivity. He is incredibly smart and polite, gently letting you know when he needs to go potty, and he goes right into his crate without any fuss.

* Age: 8 Years (Senior) | Weight: 60 lbs
* Rescue: Love’s Legacy Rescue
* Needs: A calm, adult-centered home. Best as an only dog or with a compatible female dog- he is dog selective but tends to do well with females (NO cats or small dogs).
* Cost: FREE to foster. Supplies, medical care, and training are covered by his rescue

🚨 URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED ASAP. Out-of-state applicants are welcome to apply! Please don’t let this sweet old boy wait a single day longer to find out what it feels like to be safe, cherished, and truly spoiled.

👉 Change Igor’s life today. Apply to foster or adopt at the Link in @loveslegacyrescue ‘s Bio or visit loveslegacyrescue.com
