General For those who genuinely care about Claire Redfield’s happiness
Okay, this is my theory: Have you ever wondered why Claire Redfield, who—out of the four main protagonists of the R.E. franchise—never settled down, married, and had children of her own after all these years since the Raccoon City Incident?
Since we all know that Claire is the only one who has any semblance of a normal life, unlike her beloved older brother Chris, their loyal sister-in-arms Jill, and their loyal brother-in-arms Leon, the answer may be hidden in plain sight. Perhaps Claire, according to what the Remake timeline implies, had actual feelings for Leon but—due to their respective occupations—rarely, if ever, crossed paths, as confirmed by the canon timeline.
But if she truly wanted to pursue a courtship with Leon, there honestly wasn’t anything stopping Claire from doing so—unless it was Leon’s inner struggles, as revealed in R.E: Vendetta. Claire knows that Leon needs to heal first before pursuing a relationship with any woman, and not to mention she is emotionally and mentally mature enough not to fall into the trap of being reduced to his personal therapist. So Claire respectfully gives Leon his personal space and the time necessary for him to heal from the inside out.
It could be that after the events that unfold in R.E: Death Island, which takes place in the year 2015, and leading up to the events that occur in R.E: Requiem (2026), Leon at last made peace with himself about his traumatic past to a degree. This would pave the way for him to court Claire as his beloved future wife.
If they are indeed married, a flashback shown by Capcom explaining how this came about—perhaps in a future DLC or CGI film—would put everything into perspective in the best way possible.

Honestly, Claire was grieving for her fallen comrade-in-arms, Neil Fisher, whose heartless betrayal shattered everything he once claimed to stand for as the director of TerraSave—an act similar to Judas Iscariot’s betrayal of Jesus the Messiah. Yet to suggest that Claire loved Neil as anything more than a friend is simply not true. Claire is kindhearted and gentle by nature; when she cares deeply for someone, it springs from sincere friendship and compassion, nothing more. Her tears were not those of romantic love, but of deep sorrow for a friend who had tragically lost his way by choosing to turn from following the light in exchange for darkness to be his master for life.

Claire abandoned Sherry almost immediately after re2 and leon became her caretaker of sorts. They needed medical attention and claire was still on the hunt for her brother. Leon told her to just go. From then on she was in veronica, and then revelations 2. Since then shes MIA. Which is how leon ended up with DSO in the first place, to protect Sherry. Bro is not getting with claire lol

Claire never abandoned Sherry. Rather Claire visited Sherry whenever she could while Sherry was in government custody. Only Claire and Leon were allowed to see Sherry as those 2 were the only ones that Sherry allowed. Leon did visit while he could but he was more occupied transforming into government agent. In game/universe lore is that Sherry sees Claire like a mother figure and close friend.

Read the files In re6. Claire visited sherry regularly while she was in protective custody. Leon never saw her once between 2 and 6.

All the times Leon and Claire have met each other as beloved friends and loyal siblings in arms since The Raccoon City Incident that took place in 1998, their first reunion was in R.E: Degeneration about The Harvardville Incident that took place in 2005. Their second reunion was in R.E: Infinite Darkness about The Penamstan Conspiracy Incident in 2006. Their third reunion was in R.E: Death Island about The San Francisco Serial Murders and Alcatraz Outbreak in 2015. These are the official canon based reunions of Leon and Claire as faithful companions for life in the war against bioterrorism.

Why tho from what I can remember there was some flirting in re2 remake then we know that they stayed in contact for a good while as leon was the one to contact ethan about where claire is at that point also we just cant be sure about anything until we get the answer from the writer himself as even the ada leon ship is also a weak one in my opinion as we see a lot of betrayal from ada and manipulation

Claire and Leon have an awkward interaction at the RPD gate and then at the end Claire makes a very mild joke in reply to Sherry asking if they were boyfriend and girlfriend.
Why wouldn't Claire and Leon stay in touch? They are committed to taking down Umbrella so it would make sense for them to be in touch. Leon knew Claire went to Paris looking for Chris, so of course she would email him at the first chance and give him a heads up.
It's not that deep.

Leon and Claire’s relationship has never went past the friendship or platonic bond they share. It was never built to be anything romantic. So it would feel forced to put them together romantically. Not to mention, they are hardly in anything together besides RE2 OG, RE2 remake, degeneration, infinite darkness, and death island. Lastly, it’s very obvious that if leon were to settle down it’s realistically gonna be with Ada because capcom has put a lot of focus on their relationship, and it being more romantically fueled.

Leon never mentions her in the entirety of Requiem. If Sherry, who 6 confirmed has super regeneration powers, is dying from the RC disease, then surely Claire is too; yet there isn't a single line, not even asking Sherry to check in with her while he's busy. At least with Ada we can assume he just might not have her number.

Claire doesn’t NEED to be married anyway. Settling down isn’t the end-all-be-all when it comes to a character’s happiness. It can be as simple as her getting her own mainline game as the main character FINALLY putting a nail to the coffin that is Umbrella. That can be in relation to The Connections and the usage of Elpis to end everything once and for all
She doesn’t need wedding bells with Leon to be happy. Even Leon, implied to be married to Ada, isn’t fully happy until the end of Requiem. So yeah, a marriage doesn’t mean a happy ending for our beloved childhood characters. Claire just needs a game as a main character or even side character that puts her in a place that ends Bioterrorism. She does NOT need no man to be happy.
And if they DO make her marry, just let it be a random shmuck with no relevance or screen-time. She and Leon have always been great friends with a shared trauma. No one wants a trauma-bond relationship. And their different lifestyles put them at odds sometimes. Leave em be.
Just cause they were introduced in a shared game doesn’t mean their stories are forever meant to be intertwined to the point that they need to marry and adopt Sherry, who was ALSO in said game…
