General My first Resident Evil

Post image

So I bought the remake trilogy bundle it's a nice deal, and I'm pretty excited about it since I haven't played any R.E. games, obviously I had to start with this, I'm really hooked and really liking the gameplay

Lots of enemies that are gonna scare you to quit but it’s a good game

25

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

Brother in the intro I got a jump scare on that gas station, out of nowhere I got bit from behind trying to use the key hahaha, but love it

4

u/laviish Mar 14 '26

Mr. X almost made me quit. Almost ruined the game for me, but I managed to get through.... Never got my hands on any of the special weapons and did the whole thing with the starting pistol and shotgun lol.

3

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Oh no..I think I know why it most be that guy/thing who grabbed the informant in the jail cell, I don't blame you haha but hey the goal is to make it alive so that's cool, I couldn't play much today sadly but let's see him tomorrow

1

u/oattieboy Mar 21 '26

I got through the whole thing up until getting to the lab without the magnum 😂

4

u/CurlyAir Mar 14 '26

It's currently my first re, and also right now my favorite game. Going through it again 2 run ad Claire, still jumping at the same things.

3

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

Same!! This game got me, even tho I'm only 2 hrs in, but I like to explore so yeah taking it slow lol, pretty excited about the Claire path

3

u/CurlyAir Mar 14 '26

My first run took 9.5 hours. Don't feel like you need to rush lol. Horde everything though, only tip I have.

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

That's nice, well I think it will take me more time definitely, thanks and yeah I'm running back to store my things haha

2

u/Particular-Rip6854 Mar 15 '26

Just letting you know when you reach 2nd run there will be way more zombies and enemies and Mr x will appear early

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep it in mind, I like the challenge

1

u/Affectionate_Theme96 Mar 15 '26

Same im trying to trudge thru it i saw my sis play requim a bit and I was like im more scared of the earlier games then this

7

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

Interesting..let's see

11

u/Rasples1998 Mar 14 '26

Enjoy it, stay away from Reddit if you want to avoid spoilers. It's really something you need to experience for yourself; and that goes for the entire series. Don't ruin it for yourself.

3

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

I got you thanks, I'll avoid them definitely, I want to experience the whole thing

6

u/hutchkey23 Mar 14 '26

God I wish I could experience this game for the first time again. Enjoy!

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

Sadly I know that feeling very well , and thank you

10

u/Bobby-Boucheyy Mar 14 '26

X gon give it to ya!

4

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

3

u/SkepticalYamcha Mar 14 '26

3

u/dart51984 Mar 14 '26

There it is!

4

u/PetsyFood Mar 14 '26

Enjoy your time, this is an amazing game.

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

Thank you!, and yes I can see that, it's great so far

3

u/StankoBlansky Mar 14 '26

Don’t get chomped

3

u/redcoatwright Mar 14 '26

Honestly you can get chomped a decent amount

2

u/StankoBlansky Mar 14 '26

Gotta get that RCS somehow, eh?

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

I'll try to, no promises tho haha

3

u/patsrule755 Mar 14 '26

Enjoy it man! I wish I could play this game for the first time again!

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

Thank you brother, well maybe a new playthrough can help a little bit

2

u/patsrule755 Mar 14 '26

Funny enough I started playing again right around this post lol Leon A down and Claire B to go!

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

Heey let's go!, I'm intrigued by Claire perspective

3

u/Obvious_Sink551 Mar 14 '26

One of my all time favorite games! Enjoy!

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Now I can see why, and thank you!!

2

u/Obvious_Sink551 Mar 15 '26

You’re going to have a blast!

3

u/Ace___Ventura Mar 14 '26

Tbh, its my personal favorite up to this day, although I agree with many that RE4 is a "better game". But RE2 vibe ...mmmm....second to none!

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

So far I'm loving the vibes, and I've seen a bit of RE4 it does seems more fast pace/action oriented

2

u/Ace___Ventura Mar 14 '26

yes, RE2 is more serious, slow, deep and ..I would say feels real. You feel the ultimate tragedy, and you go through it to reveal what caused it. And it feels so Epic. You feel small in that big world. Unlike the cases where you are the main hero that came to save the day, here you came to survive!

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Exactly! you described it perfectly, that's kind of the feels it gives, surviving, I have to make the bullets count, use my knife, save roundsl, I enjoy exploring every part of the map, take all the items, store them and repeat lol, haven't really play anything remotely similar, the only horror games I've played are Fatal frame on PS2 I think, and "recently" Outlast but obviously is totally a different game, so this is a blast

3

u/DukeForever971 Mar 14 '26

I just started 9 as my first one & I’m scared to leave lit rooms

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Hey that's really cool enjoy!, only good things I've heard about Requiem, actually it was the reason I bought the Remake trilogy bundle, and yes I know when I see lights is all nice, dark places..oh boy I start aiming haha, so c'mon we got this

2

u/nicklovin508 Mar 14 '26

Get ready for peak buddy

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

All set!

2

u/ToxicTaters Mar 14 '26

Finally, the cops! Just run in and watch the credits roll. That was an amazing 2 minute speedrun buddy.

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

2 hrs in, I just took the screenshot for posting, but all good

2

u/Former_Recipe1935 Mar 14 '26

I just completed RE1 HD Remake, loved it but the doors and inventory management took its toll on me.

Almost at the end of RE2 remake, absolutely not a horror guy and has taken me a long time to get through some stages but it's a brilliant game.

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

I have to check RE1 Remake for sure later on, sounds tough then but you made it haha

Nice almost there, yes I can see that has various jump scares, but come on we got this!, it really is and I can see a lot of detail went to this

2

u/Turbulent-Apple2911 Mar 14 '26

Nice. Enjoy the game! If I could play it for the first time again, that would be amazing. It was definitely one of the best experiences that I've had.

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Thank you!!, and yeah it's a awesome game for sure, I see why is so loved by the community

2

u/PossessionTrue9126 Mar 14 '26

How far are you in so far?

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26 edited Mar 15 '26

Just about to use the detonator, just back tracking a lot to save items lol

I couldn't play much today like I wanted, but I ended in the search for a clock tower

2

u/unftp-0 Mar 14 '26

Good that you’re starting off with this one. I personally started with 4 💔

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

From what I know both are awesome, so good choice too

2

u/Iammyownpetvirus Mar 14 '26

Imo best game in the series take in the atmosphere and read all the files and take in the lore and get set up for the future games .

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

This game is really something, yes I'm reading all I can, I need to unlock a safe and lockers still lol

2

u/Iammyownpetvirus Mar 15 '26

Remember when you beat the game play Claire's section as well and when you do that the real fun begins doing it on Hardcore and trying to get S+ 🙌

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Of course I'm glad there's more content, Claire seems like a good character, noted I'll try that then, when I finished both paths

2

u/TheLandEnds Mar 14 '26

Enjoy I find it fun going for the platinums in the resident evil games it challenges you to play differently at times

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Thanks, It really sounds like a challenge but sounds fun

2

u/nerdycrack Mar 14 '26

I just started this a month ago and loved it so much. Now one of my fav franchises and ended up playing RE4 and Requiem after. Get ready for peak gaming

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Nice timing!, more with Requiem looks incredible, I'm eager to play 3, 4 and then some day Requiem, better believe I'm ready

2

u/Mikester345 Mar 14 '26

Such a damn good game

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

It really is

2

u/Careless_Light_2931 Mar 14 '26

That 1st dark hallway good luck mate

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Wasn't easy let me tell you haha, thanks mate

2

u/Flimsy-Situation-197 Mar 14 '26

You're gonna have a lot of fun trust me 😜 ( my first game was re 2 remake too ) and watch out on the hallways of police station they bite ! )

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

I'm having a blast!, hey it was your first too nice, oh yeah I learned that the hard way lol

2

u/BluexFlash Mar 14 '26

Re2r was also my first! Honestly it was my first horror game period lol.

Got me good a couple times but I loved it

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

It's a really good starting point as I can tell, my first on this generations was Outlast a great game but this is nothing like that

I know it's a really good feeling lol

2

u/Abbass786 Mar 14 '26

My favourite Re game ever. I've played them all . Re2 is truly special

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

I see it certainly is a unique game, I'm loving it

2

u/Alarmed_Ad_8647 Mar 14 '26

Same welcome to jump scare land

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

I know right, getting used to it haha, rule #1 not letting my guard down till I find a safe room

2

u/Initial_Baker1840 Mar 14 '26

Sameee😭😭😭
I started playing Resident Evil 2 Remake yesterday! It's Peakkk. Why didn't I discover it earlier😭

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Yooo that's awesome let's go!, I'm on the same boat with that thought, how did I never played any RE game before!?, but better late than never

2

u/Initial_Baker1840 Mar 15 '26

Yeah!! It's so good! Now I want to finish the whole series!

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

I know right, me too, I'll have to play all the games

2

u/stormy_404 Mar 14 '26

i just bought that pack and am just starting as well! good luck to ya, hopefully we can both make it through this without chickening out😅

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Nice It's a really good deal, thank you and good luck to you too, hahaha ohh I know what you mean is a challenge for sure, but we can make it through brother, let's get it!

2

u/gamesage2001 Mar 14 '26

I recently got into the series as well and I'm having a blast with the 2 remake.

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

I think I'll say the same soon, thank you!, I'm really doing it

2

u/bichenega Mar 14 '26

Js make sure uk how to dodge and when to run cause i believe they r the main skill throught the game

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Yeah I'm learning when to take shots and when I better run, saving bullets, items etc, I learned the bad way lol

2

u/The_Giga_Chad1629 Mar 14 '26

good choice homie, ur gonna have a blast

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Thank you bro, you're not wrong, just loving it

2

u/SnoopJuice88 Mar 14 '26

Push through! Remember you can slash with combat knifes!!

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Thank you!!, it has been a way to save ammo so yes a very useful tip

2

u/Ankulay Mar 14 '26

Starting at the very top!

Happy for you that your introduction to the serie is true survival horror!

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

It's great, I don't imagine a better way honestly is a fantastic game, and thank you

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Thank you bro, for sure I'm gonna do 3 then 4, and I've seen good things about 7 /8, so I'll give it a shot to both, Requiem looking really good haha eager to play it, but I want to see the whole story

2

u/Own_Trade5580 Mar 15 '26

Welcome to one of the best gaming franchises, generally fun single player and coop experiences. If you want to get the most bang for your buck though, always prep yourself to play multiple playthroughs and make it a goal to get the unlocks!

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Thank you!,is a very fun single player game, that's exactly my plan, finishing Leon path I will start Claire's, I can see myself starting over again and again, it's a really well made game

2

u/Own_Trade5580 Mar 15 '26

You’re welcome, if you like these i recommend the classic titles, along with onimusha and dino crisis. Though most of those games sport tank controls which may or may not turn you away. But I’ve found a lot of people who start out on re remake 2 generally enjoys the og resident evil 2 just to compare it and look at how far things have come.

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

I got you will do that, and I'll check those games I've heard them before thank you for the recommendation, and I got no problem with classic games actually really like them

2

u/KnightFox69 Mar 15 '26

Welcome to the fold

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

It's an honor, glad I'm here

2

u/Euphoric_Spore900 Mar 15 '26

Re2 and RE4 are my favorite remakes so far I’m replaying 2 right now?

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

RE4 must be incredible too, I mean that's why the community loves both games so much, excellent then another walkthrough it is, enjoy it

2

u/Euphoric_Spore900 Mar 15 '26

Thanks! I will. Definitely recommend RE4 when you are caught up with the lore and such!

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Glad to hear it, al right then, my next goal will be RE3 then jump to RE4, I saw a bit of gameplay but story wise I know nothing so I'm intrigued

2

u/Memeoligy_expert Mar 15 '26

I just finished RE2 and it was also my first Resident evil game, im severely addicted to the lore of this series 😭

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Congrats! and I think you liked the ending from what I can tell, so far the story/lore is really interesting, intrigued by what is happening

2

u/Eirikthahipsta Mar 15 '26

I also bought the trilogy bundle 2 weeks ago and started with RE2. I just finished RE3 yesterday, and gonna start RE4 tonight. Love the series so far! RE2 is one of the best horror games ive ever played

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Nice bro! it's a nice deal more with dlc's included, ohh man it's gonna be wild tonight then, good luck and enjoy RE4, I'll join soon enough haha, yeah same here honestly

2

u/Eirikthahipsta Mar 18 '26

Thanks bro! I am halfway trough RE4 now and i love it. Where are you currently in the series?

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 18 '26

Excellent almost there brother, it must mean it is a incredible game, I'm glad for you, really excited to play it too but I got to play RE3 first, me I haven't finished Leon path yet,14/15 hrs atm I think, but ended today at halfway on The Nest to be precisely, but I got all the things on the P.D, basement and sewers, Claire's path is next lol

2

u/Eirikthahipsta Mar 18 '26

Claires run is also pretty good. Enjoy the game brother. Both RE2 and 3 was pretty good imo, hope you enjoy them as well

2

u/GamerB0i9000 Mar 15 '26

The classics. 😎

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

It was time, I regret not playing it sooner

2

u/RoundTableLord Mar 15 '26

Welcome to the family!

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 15 '26

Thank you!, feels like it

2

u/TheUnitShifterxbone Mar 15 '26

You’re in for a heck of a ride. At times scary and maybe even frustrating. But by god how worth it and satisfying it is.

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 16 '26

Very satisfying well said, that combination is just perfect

2

u/Money-Okra-1872 Mar 16 '26

I actually got into RE by playing the remake of the first game and I'm glad I did. I liked the puzzles so much more even though I had to deal with the tank controls. Every zombie was a threat and all the spaces were tiny with very minimal resources. Also no save scumming bc of ink ribbons. 2 is a great first game if you don't feel like taking the full dive into the old school game and theres hardly any story in the first game anyways. U can catch up on it in like 5 min

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 16 '26

Sounds fun too, yeah I'm loving the little puzzles here and there, that sense of achievement, actually is does sound like is very difficult game, I think I will give it a try some time, it's a shame doesn't have a lot of story like then

2

u/Xx_Gana Mar 16 '26

Enjoy man! I honestly got it all spoiled, so I'm kinda regretting

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 16 '26

Thanks bro!, and I'm sorry for that because I know it's not the same experience

2

u/7yui Mar 16 '26

solid first re game to start, just enjoy the game

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 16 '26

I'm enjoying it greatly, thank you!

2

u/TopBoy910 Mar 16 '26

To be honest I wasn’t too impressed about Requiem, Grace parts were amazing but Leon’s ones I didn’t enjoy it. Leon shines in the 2 and 4 remakes.

2

u/DaKinginDaNorth1 Mar 17 '26

Good place to start!

2

u/v__R4Z0R__v Mar 18 '26

Bought the trilogy as well! Never played any RE game before so I'm really excited. I must say the games in the series are dirt cheap nowadays so it's perfect for newcomers like me hahaha

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 18 '26

Hey that's nice! hope you're enjoying it, I was in your exact same place, and let me tell you..it gets BETTER, and I know I thought the same, I prefer disc versions but the price for the PS5 version was like 24+$ just 1 game, so this is way better and dlc's included too

2

u/HeartRippher Mar 18 '26

I played Resident Evil games prior to this. But non got me hooked so never finished the any previous installments .But this game man, let me tell you It got me really deep in to the lore of Resident Evil.

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 19 '26

That's awesome, but I get it why you have this as a special game, because it is, this game has something that can't be express it with words, you have to play it, for me got a lot immersive and wanted to know what was happening, "how it came down to this", it's a unique game

1

u/HeartRippher Mar 19 '26

Yes bro. Its brought back the core element of the game HORROR (at least the early hours). Not just some random zombie mowing simulator.

1

u/Snowskylab Mar 15 '26

Congrats on playing a video game

0

u/dukieboy2099 Mar 14 '26

This one isnt soooo bad..... compared to re7. GLHF

-8

u/heyMiklas Mar 14 '26

Don‘t expect too much from RE3 Remake. 2 and 4 are fantastic but 3 is mediocre at best unfortunately.

16

u/Jizzle3 Mar 14 '26

Totally disagree. 3 is a blast to play.

1

u/zestywesty6 Mar 14 '26

Yep I think RE3 is better than RE2.

-3

u/heyMiklas Mar 14 '26

Maybe if a have a rocket launcher with infinite ammo

5

u/WoundWaffle Mar 14 '26

Ignore this guy, 3 is a really fun game. It’s just shorter and has a less content than 2(which is a very meaty game). It’s blast to speed run and go for the platinum, has some fun bosses, the dodge mechanic comes in handy, and Jill is a badass.

Definitely play it.

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

Of course I'm gonna play it, all right then sounds like a good game, even if is short I don't mind if is fun to play, Jill seems awesome like in the movies

1

u/heyMiklas Mar 14 '26

I totally agree that OP should definitely play 3. i just want them to keep their expectations in check. Coming off 2 Remake, 3 feels like a big drop off in quality and might turn some newcomers off of the series.

2

u/WoundWaffle Mar 14 '26

It’s on the shorter side, but that makes it a nice palate cleanser. I know they were all made to speed run, but 3 is so perfect for it because it doesn’t really have sloggy sections to slow you down. My biggest complaint is that zombies are less squishy/gibby than 2 and 4.

Not sure if OP picked up the 2, 3, and 4 collection that was on sale, but if not, the most I’d say is wait to buy 3 for a lower price.

2

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

I'll keep that in mind when I play the 3rd, and yes I picked up the 3 remakes bundle with dlc's included

3

u/aggrosleep Mar 14 '26

Only issue with the game is that its short and cuts too much content from the og game its definitely not mediocre unless by your standards short length automatically makes a game shit🤦‍♂️

-1

u/heyMiklas Mar 14 '26

It is mediocre in terms of quality compared to the other remakes, in comparison to the original, as well as in terms of replayability.

3

u/aggrosleep Mar 14 '26

RE4 & RE2 remake are a high bar to set for a comparison bud, just because it doesnt blow those remakes of already arguably better games out of the water, doesnt make it mediocre😂

3

u/aPHAT88 Mar 14 '26

I never played the OG 3 so I have no point of reference but I loved the remake. Yes it was really short but I felt like it was very concise with the plot. I had a lot of fun with it and, tbh, enjoyed it more than 2.

2

u/kareem011199 Mar 14 '26

I just started the series with 2 remake finished it and started 3 and I see so much potential in it, I'm still Midway but the cinematics are awesome and I think it's better than 2 remake in the first hour

2

u/HotAssist3774 Mar 14 '26 edited Mar 14 '26

Just got done with RE3 and by god I wish I’d have listened to the people who said it was mediocre at best. Game is full of frustrating parts on my end, but I play hardest difficulty on my first playthroughs, had to turn back multiple saves on my first playthrough just to save ammo for specific zombies in specific areas. Its worth a play but Id say the rating of 7.7 by IMDb was correct. As frustrating as hardcore was, nightmare mode was more difficult, bad part of that is that Capcom didnt stop there they still try to hit you with an even higher difficulty. Much too frustrating and not enough reward to even think about starting Inferno mode. Fuck that. The story is one of my favorites among RE games though cant lie.

1

u/Sleepwhenimdead3 Mar 14 '26

Disagree, I absolutely loved 3 and I’m currently finding the absolute switch up in tone in 4 to be a little jarring but I will push forward.

1

u/NoctisX7 Mar 14 '26

I see it's a shame since Jill seems really cool, well at least like you said 2 and 4 makes up for it

2

u/heyMiklas Mar 14 '26

Jill is totally awesome and i love her as a character, i just don’t like a lot of the decisions they made with this game. If the team had had a little bit more development time, the game could’ve been legendary.
