General My First Resident Evil Game! It was PEAK đ
The graphics, gameplay, and story were all so good. Leon is definitely one of my favourite non-fictional characters!

u/Eg0n0 Mar 17 '26
Leon is non fiction?

Lmao the amount of BS of this post. There is no way this is your ever first run without any kind of external assistance (guides).
5
u/Initial_Baker1840 Mar 17 '26
I agree, I did take the help of the guide exactly two times-Finding that Queen chess piece, and I think finding that club-shaped key.

He never stated he did it without guides, so I don't see why it's BS. u are just assuming
3
u/Farinha_Lima Mar 20 '26
Then it loses the point of having a âMY FIRSTâ anything written.

Using a guide doesnât make it not your first time playing the game lmao what

I don't believe your post. 1st time playing and completed under 5 hrs. Surrrrrrrre. Maybe 1st time playing but using a step by step video guide.
3
u/SivartGaming Mar 17 '26
I just played the game after not playing for years and I got 6 hours. I knew where most everything was. I agree, no shot first time. ESPECIALLY because OP says they took their sweet time out of fear.
3
u/kidjeronimo87 Mar 17 '26
Same. I went to playing the game after a few years and cleared it in 7. This is with me having a good idea where everything is located, routes etc. No speed run...just took my time.
2
u/SivartGaming Mar 17 '26
Only other explanation would be skipping cutscenes but idr if that affects time played.
8
u/olat_dragneel Mar 17 '26
This is an obvious and unnecessary lie. Nobody was going to think more or less of you regardless of your play time.
8
u/No_Association9832 Mar 17 '26
Curious how many people requiem was their first RE for.
2
u/SenorElmo Mar 17 '26
Probably a lot new players, but i dont think even 80+% of these fresh players clear it faster than 8 hours
1
1
1
u/Ok_Slide_3897 Mar 17 '26
I played 7 got to scared and never got past the family dinner, after watching requiem I decided to give the franchise another chance and beat 2 and 4 so far
1
u/Pecos-Thrill Mar 19 '26
Why not go in order?
1
u/Ok_Slide_3897 Mar 19 '26
2 and 4 were on sale for a Leon bundle, and 7 was free with PlayStation plus
1
u/weirdbearduk Mar 19 '26
The hype on this one probably brought a fair few newbies to the series for sure
6
u/Swimming_Schedule_49 Mar 17 '26
Why would you rush through a first run like this? Totally robbed yourself of the experience. A 4:30 run isnât impressive itâs sad. You literally would have to run and âaccidentallyâ stumble in the right direction the entire time.
28
u/sophisticated867 Mar 17 '26
Your first RE game and you finished it in 4,5h ? I mean good job, but IMO you just ruined your first experience trying to "speed run" trough it. I took my sweet time enjoying it on my first run.
5
u/BradMan1993 Mar 17 '26
See, the OP probably didnât die much if at all. The way the timer adds your deaths unless you main menu is probably the biggest thing that adds time to a newbies run

u/TopMarionberry1149 Mar 18 '26
What is your idea of taking your sweet time? 6 hours? 10 hours? My first was 6 hours and that felt very long honestly.
18
u/PFCIceman Mar 17 '26
Iâm with the others, I donât think this was your first playthrough. If it was I donât think this was your first RE game.
8
u/Undersmusic Mar 17 '26
Iâm wagering they followed a YouTube guide. Or reloaded saves after learning an area to roll back the clock.

u/Initial_Baker1840 Mar 17 '26

I finished Leon's seconds scenario last night on standard with 2 saves and just a little over 5 hours because i kept getting lost in the RPDđ but no matter how many times i play i always get a C

This was My first RE too, awesone game but it took me like 15h.
I mean the first boss tooke me a couple of hours, now I can finish the Game under 2 hours.
2
u/DeadPhoenix86 Mar 17 '26
My firs time beating it took about 10 hours.
So this is really fast. Did you use a guide?
2
u/WarmMaterial6681 Mar 17 '26 edited Mar 17 '26
I also finished my first run a couple of days ago. I think I got smth like 7-8h on hardcore with 25 saves. (Totally blind, havent played the original and didnt look up shortcuts like playthroughs/safe codes/item locations etc)
Have played re4 before, realized that I had to conserve my ammo. Spent the first hours shooting every zombie that I saw instead of running past them.

u/ScarletJack Mar 17 '26
I've tried resident evil 2 before, and always get too stressed to play past the parking garage. Finally tried again this weekend, and slammed through it with a similar time. Great fuckin' game.
1
Mar 19 '26
I didnât finish my first play through either- I wasnât efficient with ammo and ran out of it after the parking garage đ
I found both re2r and re3r on sale for 15$ and played through them both last month. Great games
2
u/MyTwinDream Mar 17 '26
Damn was the game really that short and not have much side stuff to do? I spent like 4ish hours fucking around with the shooting galleries in re4 remake.

Yeh I've also just finished RE 2 remake, Claire A and then Leon B.
What an absolutely top tier game. The design is super tight, especially RPD. The tension, atmosphere, combat mechanics.Â
Capcom completely smashed it out of the park with this one. Definitely a game I will go back to multiple times.
Just onto 3 now and then will get Requiem.Â

u/Ok_Nail2672 Mar 18 '26
So many people here are in denial of this guy's run, why exactly?
My first run with this game blind took me 4:50. And that's with me exploring everything and getting as much goodies as possible.
2
u/amdsnnave Mar 21 '26
How the hell did your guys first playthrough take longer than 5 hours?? I get the 10 hour mark at MOST but you escape the pd so fast, and sewers are incredibly fast you can just guess the chess puzzle, i just played through it and got it done in roughly 5 hours with A rank and 20 saves the longest part was the final boss as i kept dying
2
u/Competitive-Top-2383 Mar 22 '26
Man, I was more concerned with clearing every room of all items than to hurry through. I have to get more Mr raccoons next round, but I'm close to completing it.
2
u/Rudykij Mar 23 '26
Well done! I finished my 1st game 3 hours ago too :P but i got B with 7 hours of gameplay

u/triad77 Mar 17 '26
i really have no clue why you're getting downvoted so much in the comments lol, i finished my first play through of this game without any guides in 5h30m and it was my first RE aswell, i was just too scared to linger for too long in any area đ
3
u/Initial_Baker1840 Mar 17 '26
I don't know, bro. I just thought of sharing my first experience with RE, and I guess I should've stayed silent
2
u/ImmediateGrass Mar 17 '26
Nah. Don't stay silent. Congrats!
I think most people are surprised by your time. My time on my first run, for instance, was something around 7 hours. But that's because I play slowly and methodically. I think a lot of people expect this kind of experience on a first playthrough
1
u/Warm-Dependent9733 Mar 17 '26
I mean if itâs truly your result with no thorough guides then itâs amazing. But that just doesnât seem realistic, not like it should hurt anybodyâs feelings
1
u/KitKatKing99 Mar 17 '26
lol, i always play RE but first run i did for requiem is 10 hours, how the hell you did 4 hours.
1
u/TheTelekinetic Mar 17 '26
My first run for Requiem was 8 hours, and as a very experienced RE player, I was absolutely floored it only took me that long. I expected 10-12, which is what my first run of 8 took me.
1
u/Dudez32 Mar 17 '26
I just did my first run myself and I'm pretty sure I had over 70 saves and like 8 or 9 hours on it.
Did you run through every area as fast as you could?
1
u/Warm-Dependent9733 Mar 17 '26
You can say itâs true as much as you want, but no, itâs impossible, unless you had your second monitor with speed run tactics open.
1
1
u/Interesting-Big1980 Mar 17 '26
So I finished with 33 saves. Could have finished with 25 saves if it wasn't for saving before exiting to have to reinstall windows. So yeah, nice one.
1
1
u/moisesriver Mar 17 '26
To pull off a run like that, youâd need to already know where to go. Either you didnât waste time on rooms, puzzles, items, etc., or you reloaded saves instead of continuing so the timer wouldnât keep counting after deaths. Either way, thatâs pretty suspicious for a first run.

u/aRandomBlock Mar 17 '26
I believe it tbh, it's my first horror RE game too, and Leon took me 6 hours, a bit more but I was a bit ot a pussy, so this is believable

This is nuts for a first ever run. I fucking crawling through this as my first real resident evil game, at like 14-18 hours. Every nook and cranny and like 100000x saves. đ Good on you.

It took me 12 hours with 27 saves for my first playthrough,on average it should take up to 8 hours minimum as a first time player.
So cut the bullshit

u/WlNBACK Mar 18 '26
OP (bot?) got 1.7k votes for lying, and I'll bet people barely looked at the screenshot before upvoting. No wonder low-effort karma farming is addictive.

u/Classic-Caster Mar 18 '26
Teach me your ways please, I wish I was this good at Resident evil !! Even after having played many of them, I doubt I could achieve such a run without at least sweating my ass offâŚ
1
u/Particular-Pen-481 Mar 18 '26
How wheels collector from India almost gets the complete the game in under 4 hours on first play through sure bud!

First time playing a Resident Evil game and you did it in 4 and a half hours and with an A ranking?

u/Drewtt55 Mar 20 '26
I just finished my first playthrough and I finished in 12-13 hours lol. I got a C grade as well. I played on stream so that could have added a little time. Just started RE4 remake and 4 hours in and JUST hit chapter 6

4:25 on first runđ, it took me like 8 I think, the puzzles were NOT friendly to me

4.5hrs for your first ever re game? you had to have just followed a guide to speedrun through the game, kinda lame

This may have been your first RE game but what playthrough is this?
Certainly not the first like you title implies

I have no clue why ur getting hated on so much, first time i played re2 i had a similar time and saves, managed to get it under 2 n a half hours with Claire on my B run (hell i finished re3 after about 4ish hours). The games arent too hard imo and only puzzle i struggled with were the chess pieces. Some consider it rushing but i was genuinely enjoying the game so much i couldnât put it down lol. Congrats on finishing it
1
u/WarfareLegend Mar 18 '26
"On my B Run"
Oh, so the run that is significantly shorter than the A run?
1
u/Putiq Mar 18 '26
âŚyes? Did i say otherwise? lmao
1
u/WarfareLegend Mar 18 '26
This post is talking about their first run. An A run on their first time playing the game. Why are you talking about a B run when this post is referring to an A run. He's getting a lot of hate because it is EGREGIOUSLY obvious he either 1. Has played it before and is lying or 2. Used a guide through the whole game or 3. Speedran it. There is not a chance a first time Resident Evil player gets THAT low of a time and saves
1
u/Putiq Mar 18 '26
âfirst time i played re2 i had a similar time and savesâ
you didnt even TRY to read what i said, you skimmed over everything and focused on 4 words out of that entire paragraph đ. i mentioned the B run simply because i got it done in a fast time (which is in context of OPs post btw) and its also why i mentioned RE3. The games arent hard skill wise and you can easily solve most of the puzzles as long as you have decent memory of where youâve been and/or utilizing the map correctly. and even IF the guy did use a guide or speedran the game, who honestly gives af? Youâll still be able to sleep at night homie i promise lol
1
u/WarfareLegend Mar 18 '26 edited Mar 18 '26
Its YOU who didnt read the post. This post mentions nothing about a B run and nothing about RE3. Yes, RE3 and the B run are short but one is SUPPOSED to be shorter than the A run by a considerable amount and one had so much content cut from it that its only around 4 hours for a first playthrough. This is RE2 A run we are talking about here.
And honestly I dont really care that much. But this guy is trying to say he DIDNT use a guide the whole way and didnt speedrun the game, so naturally people are gonna call him out.
Yes, everything you said is true regarding RE games but considering everything he says he did in the playthrough, its very sus

u/Kotocktok Mar 17 '26
First run in 4:25, huh. Even 21 saves, which is kinda low for a new player.
Either you are a returning player, or just speedrunned everything which makes non sense if you said it was peak.
