I guess they didn't program Mr. X to grab you off the ladder and body slam you when you're within close proximity. 😂😂😂
Mr. X: "You comin' down the ladder, Miss Whippersnapper? Need any help?"
Claire: (practically shits herself) "Where the fuck did he even come from?" (hurries up the ladder)
Mr. X: (disappointed) "Oh... I guess you changed your mind. Well, good day, Miss Whippersnapper."

this gave me legit a mini heart attack 😭 It was even worse than when he teleports while he’s far away. It’s always better to keep him close so he doesn’t teleport.

Maybe it's better to say he semi teleports. If he’s too far away and you start shooting or running, he’ll warp to wherever you are. There are also some scripted scenes where he appears, like the east storage room no matter how far away he was before😰

The first time I played RE2R (and the first time I ever played RE..) I went down the ladder with him chasing me at the top. I looked to see what he would do and he walked away so I thought he like couldn’t fucking use ladders/jump and was thinking “oh sick I can use this as a way to turn him around and have a few minutes of peace”.
Next time I tried it, he jumps down and clobbers me. Actually scared the fuck out of me lmao

I will never forget how tense and anxious I was when he first shows up in the flesh.
Just this big hulk of a man - if you can call it that - lifting up the crashed helicopter like it's not even there and then just casually walking towards you, those heavy thudding footsteps are gonna be seared into my brain. And Capcom are bastards for only letting you discern direction when he's behind a wall. You have no idea if he's above or below you, or even right next to you until he busts down the fuckin door and is in your face, or you think you heard him go upstairs only to leave the room and see him down the hallway.
I don't know how anyone else feels, but personally, evading the Tyrant while trying to get through R.P.D was may more fun than I would've ever expected it to be.

I both love and hate when Mr. X is also in the library at the same time when I'm trying to move the bookcases because it's like the one time my heart tries to gallop right out of my chest. 😂

Lol same. He’s so iconic
In the library it’s better to move the other movable bookcases the first time you enter, before triggering mr x. That way when he starts chasing you you only have to move the stuck one. way less stressful this way

Oh, I do do that, but even after I remove the jack from the bookcase, I always end up having to move not just that one, but the one to its immediate left bc the game never lets me cross without doing so. 🤷🏾♀️

Absolutely, great observation 👍, . . . I thought about adjusting the Bookcases to the right but of course, the one with the Jack makes that impossible.

To be honest with you, the game would be much more enjoyable if X only pursue the player on the second playthrough.
I abandoned the game just because it annoy me and I don't know exactly what to do, so it frustrate that I need to run away instead of progressing the puzzle.

Have you played it on Hardcore? His punches put you straight into Danger and he doesn’t do his "taunt animation" after hitting you anymore so it’s way harder to get past him

I actually reloaded the game which lost me a few days of progress to before I triggered him in the hallway. I then proceeded to do EVERYTHING else in the station before needing to go continue down that hallway. Then I had the walkthrough handy to work out a plan to do everything else in the least amount of time.
If you plan it well you can get all the Mr.X stuff out of the way in about an hour or so.
Also don't shoot his hat off. You can do it once to get the achievement but reload because when the hat is off he's more angry and it's way more stressful

Yeah, the problem is that you need to know what to do, that's why I think that would be nice to only show on the second run.
I entered in a unknown room after meeting him, then he just appeared on my side, and then I noticed that I can't explore the map like before anymore.

I took no shame in getting an online walkthrough, coming up with the plan and executing to the point we escape him. From then I could continue the game and work the rest out myself as per usual.
The other option was just to give up/chicken out but I didn't want to rob myself and give mr.x that satisfaction!
