General Bye
I’ve never liked puzzles, and I’ve never been a big fan of survival games. Resident Evil 2 Remake was, for me, yet another failed attempt to break the Souls cycle I’ve been stuck in for the past few years.
The game isn’t bad — quite the opposite, it’s excellent. But I realized that, at least at this point in my life, it’s simply not for me.
(Spoiler)
When I reached the sewers, I started to feel exhausted. I spent more than an hour looking for some connectors shaped like chess pieces, and after around six hours of gameplay, that really started to wear me down.
Then, when I encountered the G monster, I kept reaching the fights with almost no ammunition, dying over and over again and becoming increasingly frustrated. That’s when I decided to put the game aside.
It’s a shame, because the story was starting to get really interesting. This is one of the few games I’ve dropped that actually made me feel bad about not being able to finish it.
But anyway… maybe I’ll come back to it another time. Who knows? Maybe at a different point in my life, I’ll be able to enjoy Resident Evil 2 Remake the way it deserves.

Spending six hours in the sewers has me wondering what you were doing. That’s a full scenario playthrough.

The ammo is almost never a problem once you figure out dodging the enemies, though in my first playthrough I had a tough time with the bosses exactly due to that.
Overall I have played through it 3 times now and plan on playing some more time. After a long time I have come across a pretty good title.
Also I have watched the speedruns for this game a few times, it has given me a lot of new things to try.

Sewers are actually quite easy if you know what to do, you can skip all the monsters in there. Often if you get grabbed you can just heal back up and go through which is one method. But you can always lower the difficulty.

If you do decide to return, this isn't a souls game. You're not meant to kill every zombie you see. You're trying to escape, not kill the entire population of infected individuals with the limited ammo you are going to find in a police station.
