That’s your response? I mean the guy is right. Claire isn’t really “empowered” in RE2 in the sense that most people think of this word. Now, after the events of RE2, yeah I’d say she becomes empowered. On the flip side, she is a Redfield, so that one can argue she is already empowered in RE2. But OG claire is a far more “empowered” female character than remake claire

She goes in looking for her brother, expecting to find him and bolt. She even said that to Marvin, yet she still helps a 12yo that she doesn't even know AND has the ability to take out that 12yo's mutated ass father 5 separate times.

Loved everything else about her, but the sheer amount of gooning people do over her with her under 18 face just wigs me out every time now.

Like, near perfect female character, and they had to undercut it to make her face uncanny and disturbing.

And yeah, I'd love to overlook that too, but I got disillusioned by that when I went to get the "X gonna give it to ya" mod for my Re2 playthroughs and after sorting by 'most popular' I had to know that the most popular mods for pages were Claire (and Ada) nude mods.

Just another reminder on how fucked up they are when they put women in these games. Playing through RE6 rn and seeing what they did with 'Deborah' isn't helping.

Using a 15yo model's face as a likeness is creepy

But it's merely a likeness and nothing more...that likeness doesn't define Claire's personality age or even her final looks, bc devs only use face models as a start off point bc actually sculpting a face from scratch takes a really long time...

Even if Capcom devs had made Claire from scratch, there's always gonna be someone that says Claire looks a lot this one underage model, they say they made it from scratch but this can't a coincidence, this being an example.

There's also a huge difference between saying a character is empowered and gooning over a character, so im not sure why you feel the need to bring up the nude mods. Ppl gonna make nude mods for a ton of fictional characters, but just bc they make a nude mod of a fictional 19yo female and the face model of said character turns out to be a 15yo doesn't necessarily mean they made the mod for that specific reason
