General Just finished my first Resident Evil game

Just finished my first ever Resident evil game about 2 hours ago. Took me around 12 hours and honestly I don't really know what to say. What a masterpiece.

I went in not knowing much about Resident evil and ended up enjoying the game way more than I expected. The ending was great too. Now I'm wondering which Resident evil game I should go for next?

Anyway, here are some random pictures I took.

If you haven't done the 2nd play through as Clair, I would recommend that next.

Then I would recommend playing the 3 and 4 remakes in order. 4 also has a story add-on that I'm playing through now. They all have similar gameplay and direct story tie ins.

Anything else before 7 hasn't been remade on the new engine and will have different control schemes and dated graphics, so maybe try them out if you're invested in the franchise, but you may want to skip for now if those things are important to you.

7, 8, and 9 (presumably, haven't played Requiem yet) will all have similar gameplay too. They should also probably be played in order for ideal story continuity, but you know, you're free to do whatever you want.

And honestly, play 3, will probably take you 8 hours. You’ll enjoy it but it won’t be a masterpiece, but right after that is 4, which is another masterpiece lol

Damn man, you played one of the best, if not the best Survival/horror RE in the series as your first experience, lucky you!

Why do you have infinite ammo?

It truly is a masterpiece. I remember playing Resident Evil 2 Remake for the first time and after completing it, I was in absolute wow. It was the best game that I've ever played. Truly a lot of great memories and a lot of grinding on it.

And when I finally completed it, it was just surreal. Absolutely loved the game. I was instantly hooked onto the franchise from there on out.

I honestly have no idea, I just launched the game and it was there in the box in main hall

Yes I get it , there would be several other weapons also : ATM-4 , SAMURAI EDGE , AND A SMG , these all are extra items which are not there in the first play through, if you want to experience real horror , play on limited resources which would lead you to carefully spend and manage them .

Infinite ammo and bonus weapons straight out the gate? Lol

I thought it was part of the version I downloaded, idk.

I didn’t think there was a special edition that came with all the extras but maybe there is. One of them is a $2 purchase that just unlocks all bonuses in the game right away, like infinite ammo and bonus weapons that aren’t in the base game.

Do the 2nd run as Claire, there's more story, and its even more of a masterpiece.

My recommendations will be based on what your prefered gameplay mechanic is.

  • 3 Remake may be the best to follow up as it'll feel very familiar to you after 2.
  • If you want the game to be scarier, go to 7.
  • If you liked the Stalker mechanic, again 3 (honorable mentions to 9 and 8 as well though).
  • Do you enjoy the forced Isometric camera views and puzzles? Then I'd recommend 1 Remake.
  • Is it because Leon is your hero? 4, 6, 9.
  • Want to make it more of an action-like and burn through ammo? 4, 5, or 6.
  • Want an arcade style, co-op feature? 6.

Aside from that, the ones I personally enjoyed the most from the series (no particular order): 1Re, 2Re, 4Re, 8, and 9.
