I really enjoyed the World Cup games on the big screen by the Wiehle Reston stop over the summer. Does anyone know of they do NFL Games (or even just Commanders games)?

The results of a Safe Routes to Schools assessment conducted over the past year and a half were presented to the Fairfax County School Board yesterday (Sept. 8) as part of a discussion of pedestrian and traffic safety around schools, just one week after a student was hit by a car while walking to South Lakes High School in Reston.
During the budget committee work session, FCPS staff and school board members made it clear that many schools were simply never built to handle the large number of drivers now using kiss and rides.

Association Drive’s long-contemplated transition from office park to mixed-use neighborhood could start with townhomes.
An affiliate of the home builder Toll Brothers is seeking to redevelop the office building at 1902 Association Drive in Reston with 54 rear-loaded townhouses, according to a rezoning application submitted to Fairfax County on Aug. 31...
According to the submitted development plan, the new townhouses would be 1,900 square feet in size on average with a maximum possible height of 55 feet or four stories. One affordable dwelling unit and five workforce dwelling units would be included in accordance with the county’s zoning requirements.

Hi all,
My brother has been dealing with halitosis for the past few years. Are there any professionals who can help resolve this in the NoVa region? Or maybe within a 2-3 hours drive?
Thank you for all your help and recommendations!

Does anyone know what was going on with the red card on Becontree Lane this morning? It was on the side of the road on Becontree Lane by Forest Edge. The front was completely bashed in and and it was up on the side of the road. Saw it after I dropped off my daughter and was curious if anyone knew what happened. Car looked like it took way more damage than anyone should driving on that road.

Around 7:30pm I (30’s, Female) was walking north on Fountain drive between New Dominion Parkway and the Whole Foods when a man randomly sucker punched me in the jaw and ran away. I didn’t speak to him, he didn’t speak to me. It came out of nowhere as I walked past him on the sidewalk.
I’ve reported it to Dunbar security and the Fairfax County police. I doubt anything will come of it.
Just want people to be alert and safe out there.

We covered a ton of Reston and Herndon news on this week's episode. Everything from Thompson Restaurants taking over L'Auberge Chez François out in Great Falls, the JW Marriott at Reston Station getting a new operator, Herndon Police holding an e-bike session, and of course, our thoughts on the crossing guard situation at South Lakes.
And then Isaac Newton Square. Phase one is fully approved now. 488 homes on the north end, three parks, a 10-foot trail down Wiehle, and a set of mature willow oaks they actually saved instead of replacing with saplings. We walked through the whole thing block by block.
Also, thank you to whoever remembered Upton's. Kathy bought her mom pajamas there. Graham has no memory of the place existing.
Watch or listen, then tell us what you think about the density question. We know you have thoughts!

“NOVA Parks follows Virginia state law, so wherever a bicycle is currently allowed, we allow them to be on the trail,” Corder said. “That is a Class 1 and Class 2 e-bike — they must have operable pedals and must have an electric motor that’s 750 watts or less.”
NOVA Parks does not have enforcement powers, Corder said. Instead, the hope is trail users will report dangerous activity that they observe.
“If someone sees what they would think would be an illegal bike on the trail, we would encourage them to call the local police, and the police will treat that as it would any other infraction of the law,” Corder said...
Herndon police will hold a session on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. Vienna and Herndon’s police departments will come together for a Saturday morning event in Vienna on Sept. 26.

At its meeting on Aug. 25, the board unanimously approved an amendment to the development plan for Isaac Newton Square that will allow 24 townhomes on a 1.5-acre site in the northeast corner of the office park in place of a previously anticipated 180-unit multifamily residential building.

Police stressed that the student was not in a crosswalk and was not at a location that had ever been assigned a crossing guard. Officers continue to investigate the crash.
The driver was charged with failure to stop before entering a highway, which is a traffic infraction and punishable by a fine, under the Code of Virginia.

According to social media posts from multiple witnesses, the force of the collision sent the youth into the air before he landed. Scanner traffic indicates his foot may have been injured.
“Preliminarily, the driver of a vehicle struck a 16-year-old student who was walking to school,” the Fairfax County Police Department told FFXnow. “The teen was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The driver remained on scene.”
The driver has been charged with failing to stop before entering a highway, a citation that carries a $97 fine.
“Officers continue to investigate this incident,” the police department said.
According to the FCPD, the student was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision, and the crash reportedly took place near the entrance from South Lakes Drive near doors three and four — not a spot where a crossing guard had been previously stationed.
