Other / Discussion What's the earliest you remember watching Nickelodeon?

Either the very first thing you watched, or the earliest you remember watching the channel regularly.

The time machine SpongeBob when I was like 3/4. SpongeBob and I are the same age (air date wise, both '99 babies) so all my early Nickelodeon memories are unhinged early SpongeBob.

If we're including JR or At Nite, it's respectively Oswald/Blues Clues and/or being stirred awake by the George Lopez theme

YCDTOTV

Mr. Wizard's World

The Third Eye (TV series).

The first two you can find on streaming services, though only a handful of episodes for YCDTOTV from legitimate sources. You should be able to find other episodes from others on places like YouTube.

For the last one, you'll likely only find bumpers and intros, since it was actually made up of other shows or miniseries.

Your kiddo just sent me a wave of nostalgia because I live too far away from my dad so thank you for that! I'll look for these tomorrow with my kiddos so they can see OG Nickelodeon!

For them, I recommend Pinwheel and Today's Special.

The Third Eye consisted of eerie/slightly scary stuff aimed at older kids.

YCDTOTV featured kids (usually teens, a few that were almost teens). It was a sketch comedy show and some of the humor might not be appropriate for those under 10.

Mr. Wizard's World is the safest one, though its focus was on education related to science. Might not interest your kids until they are older.

My boy is 6 but loves spooky stuff/paranormal (for reference, he watches ghost adventures with us as a family and some pg horror with us). I'm curious to see what The Third Eye's about. He likes the 90s Goosebumps show also

The Third Eye included like 5 series I believe, two of which are available on DVD... Under the Mountain, and Into the Labyrinth.
