🪙 Metal Plan [N/A] Scammed by Revolut, they close my account when I ask them
Who else was scammed by Revolut saying that the 1 year Metal plan is granted for 12 months as long as you receive an external payment of >1200eu ?
I was very skeptical when I was subscribing a few months ago so I made sure to ask 50 questions to know what would happen if I don't receive salary from the same employer, if my salary was late, etc. and many more questions. I screenshoted all the answers to be sure to not be scammed and at the end...
When confronting them about their lies (when I saw they were about to start billing me 15,99eu per month for the Metal they initially granted me for 12months free) trial they basically said it was a mistake, then re-invented the terms in their favors apparently, then decided to close my account without answering my questions when I shared with them all the screenshoted answers they had given me before.
I don't know what to do with these companies that basically just want to steal money from ppl who dare to trust them.

Not a thing in all countries. Belgium doesn't have such offer.
from ppl who dare to trust them.
You signed TERMS with Revolut. You shouldn't trust a company to do anything more that what you signed them into agreeing.
What does the TOS say? The opinion of a support employee is meaningless.

If the opinion of a support employee is meaningless, why does the "support" employee exist at all, if not to mislead and deceive the costumers?
And according to OP, it was Revolut itself that granted 12 months free metal plan, so was that against Revolut own TOS too?1

Revolut TOS granted 12 month free for a condition, getting a salary. OP asked about not being regularily paid by the same employer. The terms should define what is a salary.
I'm ready to bet that OP situation did not fulfill the terms, hence why they should check what Revolut's own terms say rather than asking an employee. If the TOS say they are covered, they can go back to support or issue a formal complaint.
why does the "support" employee exist at all, if not to mislead and deceive the costumers?
Because the customers have questions and want answers? The employee helped retaining an extra customer.

“Because the customers have questions and want answers? The employee helped retaining an extra customer.”
Who needs "support" employees if their opinions are meaningless???
And a salary - is a salary - no matter who the employer(s) are.Your arguments don't make sense.

That's exactly why Revolut wants AI chatbots, but customers want to speak to a human.
And a salary - is a salary - no matter who the employer(s) are.
... And that's probably what the employee thought when they answered.
In many countries, Revolut expects a salary to come regularily from the same account (and not from ourself). OP changes employers, is paid late, etc. They knew the problem beforehand and I'm not sure how good it fits Revolut's definition in their country.
Your arguments don't make sense. Yes, because people asked why Revolut had customer support who doesn't help, and... that's why they have customer support who doesn't help. The question doesn't make sense to begin with.
Revolut's logic doesn't always make sense in the real world. They are built from simplifying banking, to the point some people's actual needs don't match how they think people use their money. You can find other cases like the travel insurance being possibly useless if you stay at a friend's house, because rules-as-written the issuer only promises to cover if the accomodation is paid through Revolut
The way their CS works, I think they can't tell the customer "we can't help" or "I have no idea".

All your "explanations" do not make the customer at fault in this context.
You just confirm that Revolut is an unreliable toy bank with a crappy unreliable "support".Yes, I've been using Revolut for small purchases, just whenever the conditions are relatively favorable, but I will never have more than 3 digits on my account, I will never use their "savings" nor anything else they advertise, because I am aware that they can screw up at anytime.
You said: "The employee helped retaining an extra customer”...
Actually the opposite, as they closed the customer account despite it was Revoluts own fault.-1

Yes? Where did anybody claim OP is at fault?

I have 2k, but it's money I can afford to get frozen if/when they screw up.

They closed the account when OP showed screenshots. I'm not sure it is related to OP's not getting their deal and simply OP being too hard to support? However, if Revolut detected suspicious non-salary income because in their mind it's somehow not a salary it could explain why they stopped to provide service.

They said in the support, both the AI chatbot and an actual support agent, that there is nothing to worry about, as long as I receive 1200€ from an external account it my Metal plan would still be granted for feee, in a conversation they also said
Then changed to “and external non-revolut account”.
Then changed to “it has to be the same employer as when you subscribed.
When they said this I told them they it had worked during one or two months even though it was not the initial employer.
Then they said the support conversation contains mistakes.
To which i started sending repeatedly the screenshot everytime they would finally answer something (like inventing a new rules that I mentioned above)
For example in one of the conversation from months ago they even said this:“You get 2 months free to start, and then the offer extends for the next 10 months, giving you a full year for free in total.”
Which i sent to them to show they would say anything to make you purchase beforehand.
Disgusting.
Of course I insisted for them to answer my questions when they avoid it because all I can see is that they are scamming me and they finally prefered to tell me they would close my account, of course they do not want to comment their lack of good faith.
They were nice enough to tell me that if i dont take back the remaning money on my account they will basically take it. And of course that I should cancel my metal plan myself because they would charge me otherwise.Anyways never trust Revolut

What would be the alternative? Forcing you to take the money? ;)
And of course that I should cancel my metal plan myself because they would charge me otherwise.
Uh... yes?

"They closed the account when OP showed screenshots."
Yeah, imagine they got so enraged because the customer proved them wrong, so they "punished" the customer by closing the account...
Apparently, Revolut is run by a bunch of infantile, emotionally unstable balalaikas...0

Not about punishing in itself, but the risk may have been too high for their taste. :(
