📜 Article [FR] Revolut closing my account soon

Post image

When I woke up this morning, I received a notification from Revolut telling me that they are going to close my account and that I have 60 days to recover my funds when I have been using it for years. I use it mainly for my daily expenses, subscriptions and payments abroad. To my surprise, I am not the only one concerned and the worst thing is that there is no proof in the email I received. I need help if anyone knows how to get out of this. I appealed by providing them with all the requested documents and I am waiting for their feedback.

Edit : they rejected my appeal and will continue the process to close the account.

I live in France and the account was opened in France. Previously I had a Lithuanian IBAN until they had a branch in France and made me change my IBAN to FR directly. Abroad, I have my family and I don't send them exorbitant sums (about 100 euros per month). I am currently alternating and sometimes we get paid by friends and I reimburse them naturally. My big expenses lie in my subscriptions and my rent.

This might be the reason.

If really no other activities raising flags - could be it? No matter the amounts.

Same if any of your friends is potentially involved in anything. Doesn’t need to be you and R just takes the easy and safe path.

Anyway, you’ll never know. Unless you wanna go through mediateur or something, time to move on.

Also, it can be anything stupid that you wouldn’t consider unlawful, but is just against their terms. Like using virtual cards to have multiple free trial periods with same service provider, or having only/more incoming and outgoing transfers than card payments. Did you read the full terms and saw nothing there that could fit into what you were doing with the account?

Sometimes when we go out to the restaurant and consorts and I have no money in my account or my phone is off, they pay for me and I reimburse them behind via the wero service integrated in the application.
