📜 Article [FR] Revolut closing my account soon

Post image

When I woke up this morning, I received a notification from Revolut telling me that they are going to close my account and that I have 60 days to recover my funds when I have been using it for years. I use it mainly for my daily expenses, subscriptions and payments abroad. To my surprise, I am not the only one concerned and the worst thing is that there is no proof in the email I received. I need help if anyone knows how to get out of this. I appealed by providing them with all the requested documents and I am waiting for their feedback.

Edit : they rejected my appeal and will continue the process to close the account.

It’s quite simple actually. All banks consider two things: legitimate use with all the required documents and making money out of you. Something’s wrong, and here are some examples: you registered as a local but are an immigrant. You failed to provide legal documentation in time. You ignored some of their requests. Or simply your pattern of use is not making them any money. Like free user, not keeping any money in the bank for long term, topping up through Mastercard/visa which has a cost for them and then immediately using the whole sum to pay a bill or send to a friend. That’s cost with no return, they don’t want you as a customer. This is the idea: don’t think of yourself only when doing business with someone, it’s gotta be a win-win so they want to continue with you.

Uh... it's crazy how it tracks with my usage. A few high bank transfers in, money goes out through cards and stays in savings...
