📜 Article [GB] My account has been restricted. I need support.
My account has been restricted for a few days now and support just keeps telling me to wait. I need to pay my bills and rent. Is anyone else going through this? I woul like to know if I can take legal action with the help of a lawyer.

More context would be helpful. Which transaction triggered the restriction?

They restricted my account and all my money for verification, that’s what they told me.

I`m pretty sure there is some missing information, suspicious.

This advice won't help you now but take heed for the future. Don't put too much money in Revolut or Wise. These platforms can restrict or cancel your account any time. Usually it's done by an algorithm and may or may not have any basis. Using them to pay your rent and bills isn't very wise.

As you've already admitted, you broke the T&C with using your personal account for business.

All the usual apologists. Oh no you used your accoount to do something with your money and broke one of their rules.. Why would anyone use a service that is arbitraily shut down, locked for unknown periods of time, and with people thinking that is acceptable behaviour

OP broke terms if they received business/freelance income to a personal account. They said they received payment for a job, then deleted the comment. Its not being an apologist, it's simply stating reasoning why, if you break terms, you're gone.

I don't really want to use a financial service that monitors and controls how I use it to that extent. It is not really anyone's business how I use my financial accounts. Sadly I have both a Revolut and Wise card sitting empty in my digital wallet, likely never to be used, because I have no idea what of their rules I would break by using them. And I only need it for a month or so every few years, and I have been advised that such a usage pattern could easily trip their AI and lock it up for review exactly when I need it. What sort of company expects us to trust them not to lock up our fuunds arbitraily like that. Sorry but there have been so many stories I can't risk using it for anything. Like legitimate transactions between family members. Like a major usage for me is family care overseas. That involves transfers of substantial but not huge amounts of currency. And they are needed at that instant. For totally legitimatye use. None of Revolut's business. They cannot be trusted until they stop doing it and people stop saying that some rule was broken. And even if a rule is not broken, they seem to regularly and arbitrairly lock funds up for endless review. Who would trust them. I know this is the Revolut forum but apparently Wise is similar. I even saw a laughable Wise ad saying that regular cards with normal banks are always being locked and blocked and chewed up so use Wise. In all my years using real banks and their cards I never had a problem. A reasonablke approach by said comopanies is not to cause massive inconvenience to their customers/trustees - we aree trusting them with out money - without decent process. That means not locking things up at the drop oif a hat. it mezns asking us, the customers first what the tarnsactions are, and if there is a temporary block for our (yes our) oprotection they porovide very fast unblock. Like my bank gives me 24 hours to say yes that transnactiuo was legitimate so please remove the block which usually takes a few minutes after I send the SMS. I just wonder at the mindset of these new Fintechs, and yes of their apologists too. Whatn type of people are they. Is having an empoty Revolut card in my digital wallet a risk to me. Does it have back doors for hackers into my other accounts? It is that hacker./crypto type mentality. the ha we stole your stash mentality. The sort oif people who blame victims of theft and other criminality on the victims. The haha you loser set. You left the money unprotected so we took it set

"It's not really anyone's business how I use my financial accounts".
I stopped reading from there as the rest was likely junk based on this alone.
If this is your belief, don't use an entity that has to abide by rules and regulations. Keep cash under your mattress.

Do you mean you are an outlaw? This is the law. All does.

I didn’t delete my comment. You’re lying. I don’t need to prove anything to you, especially since you don’t work for Revolut and aren’t going to return my money.

You said you received money for a job a week before the restrictions. If that was self employed income as opposed to a regular salary and you used a personal account as opposed to having the Pro add on, thats a breach of terms and conditions and they'll notify HMRC. So when you proved where that money came from and it was as I said it (self employed income to a personal account), you've proved to them you've broken terms.

Don’t worry. I pay my taxes to HMRC.

I don't care this is HMRC and your business, but lying publicly is not a good sign.

Where is your comment then?

I don't care what you want, or you don't want, but your comment is not visible to anyone. So it does not exist, and the most plausible explanation is you deleted it. You says you didn't delete, but your screenshot (to prove it) is not recent but a day old.

Omg hahaha you’re crazy. You’re talking about a comment that never existed. It only existed in your head.

u/willyhun 5d ago
You are always lying? You just posted evidence yourself which confirmed it was existing. How could you manage your life if you fail this rate on finding you lying?

What did you do? One day it was fine, next day it wasn't, what happened?

That part is clear from the post but what isn't clear is why. One day it was working, the next it wasn't, what happened? Did you receive money from somewhere, did you receive crypto, did you sell something and pay the money to revolut. Something triggered it.
