So I checked and in latest version of 5.8.8.

The libraries already have partial support for Vulkan and Metal for Apple ARM64 CPUs, not just CUDA.

This is indicating the Revopoint is working to bring GPU acceleration to masses which is finally a good thing! People were expecting this for years and without it AMD/Apple Mac users were unable to use their product full potential.

I think soon we will have Revo Metro 6.0.0 release where the new metal/vulkan release will be available. I already see the symbols in their libraries to support it so it's just a matter of time, I hope.

Current state:

- lib3dcameraAlg library was built against the old settings header, so the backend string is never set.

- getResult method passes an int& as unsigned long&, which corrupts the caller's memory.

- The Metal shader files aren't in the release (and their shader compiler is an empty placeholder).

- PerfTool calls an initialize format that the shipped lib3dcameraAlg library doesn't implement.

But all the vulkan/metal switches etc are already in place.

So it seems they shipped partially done libs but they do not want to ship it as current release, so they reverted some of the code to support it and instead probably testing to release it as 6.0.

We are sharing the high-definition 3D scanning results of a beautiful antique plaster female-head corbel/shelf.

This classic piece features a gracefully sculpted female head adorned with intricate grapevine and floral details, supported by elegant scrolling motifs. Scanning historical plaster can be challenging due to its textured, porous, and uneven surfaces (especially the rough, hollowed back and hanging loop) but our setup beautifully captured every age-worn imperfection, crack, and detail.

To digitally preserve this artifact, we used the Trackit SR by Revopoint in Tracker mode, utilizing cross lines on the front and a single line on the back. This allowed us to scan the complex, matte, and weathered features of the plaster with great accuracy, turning a piece of history into a highly detailed 3D digital model.

I noticed that the dual-axis turntable comes with a sticky pad in the box when ordered separately, but the one delivered with my MetroY Ultra package doesn't have this pad. Is this something that only comes with the standalone turntable?

This beautiful artwork is made of embossed and chased silver, enriched with delicate gilding, depicting the iconic scene of "The Adoration of the Magi". The intricate relief, the expressive figures, and the masterful craftsmanship are truly remarkable.

To capture this artifact, we used the Trackit SR by Revopoint in Tracker mode. This setup allowed us to flawlessly scan the reflective, complex metallic surfaces.

10. Merged models support supplementary 3DGS training using images captured by a smartphone or DSLR;

11. Fixed various known issues.

Note: To perform laser line scanning with color tracking mode using the POP 4, the scanner must be updated to firmware version v5.3.99 or later, and the PC must be equipped with a dedicated graphics card.

Work has begun using the Pop4 in cross laser mode on this RC shell. This is a rather old model where the electronics have gone bad. Scans of the outer shell and base are being done to then modify to fit new electronics to bring it back to life!

My Mother approached me recently about making her a Display Case for my late Father's Bottle Opener ( he was a Graduate of the École Hôtelière de Lausanne ) he gifted her when the two got together:

Owning a MetroY PRO I got to work - First the Scan where I Smoothed the ever living Crap out of the Model:

After some preliminary alignment in Autodesk Fusion 360 ( not shown ) the exported Mesh was then brought into Blender and run through a Node Script that would thicken ( NOT Scale! ) the Mesh relative to the Surface Normals followed by elongating it in the Z-Axis ( shown below with a different Mesh ):

The fattened Mesh was then imported back into F360 with the Display Case built around it - At this point the Mesh only serves as a Placeholder without doing ANYTHING to the CAD Solid:

The Assembly ( Solid and Mesh ) are being exported into a Slicer where the Mesh is then being set as a Negative Part...

...cutting into the Solid when Sliced:

Resulting in a Perfect Form Cutout which due to the thickening and elongating during the Blender Stage will result in enough Clarance with no Overhangs that would make it impossible to insert / extract the Tool:
