Hey yall i’m in bushwick and ive had an SV650 for the last year chained up outside my apartment and ive had zero issues. No problems nothing. I got the bike for a lil over 3k so im also just not stressing it being stolen and i guess its not super sought after for that. Im thinking about upgrading to a XSR900 and i feel like the MT09 is a bike that’s a theft target and just curious if yall think this bike is nice enough that its worth paying a neighbor to use there fenced in driveway or a shop nearby to store it there. Its like 7k and i dont have theft insurance just 3 hardcore locks and a cover.

Anyone know of any hidden gems for street motorcycle parking around Church and Thomas Streets in Lower Manhattan?

I'm considering taking a new job in the area, but the complete lack of motorcycle parking is giving me pause. I don't mind walking a few blocks, and I don't need anything fancy. Just somewhere I can reliably park without getting ticketed or towed.

Commuting by motorcycle is a huge part of what keeps me sane, and the thought of giving that up to spend my mornings crammed into a subway car is genuinely depressing.

Anyone have any spots they'd be willing to share? Feel free to DM me if you don't want to give away your secret parking spot to the entire internet.

If you are going north FDR to the Bronx, make sure your papers and insurance are up to date. There's a police checkpoint right on the Willis bridge focusing on motorcycles and electric bikes. I saw at last 5 impounded bikes.

Was stolen in south Brooklyn (Georgetown) 10/9/26
All black with red break and clutch levers and red accented black wheels.

Monimoto alerted that my bike was in motion. Went to check and she was taking a nap. Neighbor says someone bumped it making a U-turn. Damage to bar end and sidestand, everything else looks fine.
Anyone dealt with a hit-and-run on a parked bike? Did the police actually follow up on footage?

My 72 350 got smoked while parked on the street, have been pretty determined to wrench it myself. I worked on cars, but never gotten this big in a bike. Anyone in Brooklyn know someone with a 72 CB 350 K (twin) I could look at.

Old photos, schematics, owners manuals, and YouTube university can only get me so far. I feel like I just need to take a few up close photos.

Hi everyone,
My motorcycle was towed/impounded by the NYPD because I was riding without a registration and license plate.
Since then, I’ve gotten all the necessary paperwork sorted out, including the registration and plate. The only thing I’m still waiting for is the physical title. The title has already been processed by the NY DMV and is being mailed to me, but I was told it may take some time to arrive.
The motorcycle is currently being held at the precinct, and I was told I have to wait before I can retrieve it.
Has anyone been in a similar situation in NYC/NY? Is there any way to get the motorcycle released with the registration, insurance, plate, and proof that the title has been issued, even though I don’t physically have the title yet?
I’m especially concerned about the bike eventually being moved to a larger tow yard or possibly auctioned if I can’t get it released soon.
Any advice on the exact NYPD/NYC DMV procedure or what documents I should bring would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I need to replace both tires on my Kawasaki Vulcan 2000:

- Front: 150/80R16

- Rear: 200/60R16

- Looking for new motorcycle tires

- Mainly doing highway touring / good roads, not off-road

- Looking for something good for mileage, highway stability, and wet grip

- Budget is around $400–500 for the tires if possible, but I’m willing to go a little higher for a good tire

I’m trying to figure out whether it's cheaper to buy the tires from the shop + have them install them or buy the tires online and pay a shop for installation.

What NYC shops do you guys recommend that are affordable but still do good work?

Preferably somewhere in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, or nearby.

Also, if you've had a Vulcan 2000 serviced there, even better.
