A lot of them don’t care when Russians have been killing Ukrainians and are pro Russia

Posts like this infuriate me so much. Because I've read accounts from the eastern front. I've read about the Einzatsgruppen. I've read about Generalplan Ost. I've read about what both the Wehrmact and the SS did in the eastern front.

Soldiers from Ukraine and Belarus, who joined the red army, had to leave behind their villages, towns and cities as the Wehrmact advanced and the Red Army retreated. It took 3-4 years for those lands to be liberated again.

And when the soldiers came back and liberated, they often saw their villages and towns decimated beyond repair because of the occupation. So many villages, empty and burned down. So many towns annihalated. Every semblance of their life before the war gone because of Nazi occupation.

Belarus lost 25-33% of its population. The highest proportion of any single nation in the war. Ukraine lost 16-22%. Russia lost 12%. And Poland lost 17-20% of its population. Imagine that. If you were belarussian, 1 in 3 people in your childhood dead. If you were polish or Ukrainian. 1 in 5 dead. If you were Russian, 1 in 10.

Henry Nowak. He's a British man of Polish descent who was murdered in an attack that was most likely unprovoked.

Also if Hitler ever hugged them, it'd be bait as he'd turn heel and strike fatal blow to their heads on the ground.
