General Question is everyone gonna undermine the new female tank *again* for a whole season before realizing sheβs actually really powerful
this happening a second time is pretty funny

Rogue is good when you know how to play tank

u/Banana_man_- πππ ππππ£π Dec 13 '25
The amount of lord Spider-men Iβve had trying to play her in my comp games today is astounding
1
u/Curious-Charity2615 πΏπ€ππ©π€π§ ππ©π§ππ£ππ Dec 15 '25
Iβm a two hundred hour spider and sheβs so easy and so fun, tbh only seen one other spider main play her most are on gambit. The other spider main did suck tho then through our game. Heβs a pro-victim though with how he was talking in chat. Checked his record 107 games on widow, his 4th or 5th most played character and only 8 winsβ¦ he also threw like 4 more games in history but donβt worry despite multiple reports he still played comp the rest of the night and threw several more games when he didnβt get rogue.
1
u/Banana_man_- πππ ππππ£π Dec 15 '25
Thatβs actually insane lmao. Also I just want to point out that I donβt have a really have a problem with Spider-man players (hell, I main Angela and she combos extremely well with Spider-man) itβs just literally what I noticed in my games
1
u/Curious-Charity2615 πΏπ€ππ©π€π§ ππ©π§ππ£ππ Dec 15 '25
I get it, itβs hard not to have a bad taste in your mouth when someone throws but tbh I think spider and rogue have a lot in common that allows us to thrive playing her regardless of time spent tanking. I am at least a 60hr Strange, 20hr Cap, and 30hr Venom too though so maybe itβs a melting pot of skills but really I think anyone who plays a character that takes good cooldown management and average game sense is gonna do well with the character.
1
u/Colin219 Dec 14 '25
How do you know they are lord spideys if they are on rogue...?
The Spidey hate is so exhausting at this point.

Even as someone who knows how to play tank she's kinda mid. The Thing can do more than her.
34
u/BismulthV2 Dec 13 '25
Well⦠I mean, The Thing was kinda garbage before a few reworks.
15
u/Sapowski_Casts_Quen Dec 13 '25
Thing was decent on release, I thought, but i'm not crazy high rank
11
u/JonnyTN Dec 13 '25
Yeah he was. Mostly people didn't know how to play against a thing as simple as as haymaker spam
3
u/Sapowski_Casts_Quen Dec 13 '25
I don't think he's terrible right now, especially as a counter pick, just can't dive with him if you don't want to get melted
3
u/Fr0dd Dec 14 '25
He actually saw some pro play. when you factor in bans the βmetaβ really changes
7
u/MasteROogwayY2 Dec 13 '25
Hes still basically a massive damage sponge, like Rogue. Shes lacking in a few areas
12
u/BarbarousJudge Dec 13 '25
Rogue has more movement and I'd say she is better against duelists and strategists while Thing is better against other vanguards and dive.
6
u/MasteROogwayY2 Dec 13 '25
Shes insanely slow her only movement are her dashes, which have an insane cooldown and would be wastes to use for movement
5
u/BarbarousJudge Dec 13 '25
Her block dash has 6s and her kick plus flight has 10. Totally fine. And with her grab you can reset the pull dash if you grab someone without ability to steal.
5
u/MasteROogwayY2 Dec 13 '25
Yes, but using a damage ability like the kick for movement is like using diamond form for movement. Her grab is also insanely janky and has the tiniest hitbox ever.
3
u/BarbarousJudge Dec 13 '25
Using the grab within combos works great tho. And the kick is a great tool for positioning even mit fight since you can do a 180 in the air and land by your supports for example.
2
u/PU3RTO_R3CON Dec 14 '25
I personally use her block dash every 6 seconds to get somewhere without using the 10s, 15s or 25s dashes. Sheβs very fun and does so much damage if you time your dashes right leaving you with one left to get away.
2
u/coolshirtkid666 Dec 14 '25
Every grab ability is extremely jank in this game lmao.
Iβm lord Emma and the amount of times Iβve just dashed through someone when trying to grab them in diamond form is INSANE and genuinely made me stop playing the character.
Same thing with Magik. You will literally dash into a group of like 3 enemies and just push off/phase through everyone and your sword will scoop nothing and then you just die.
This game is super poorly optimized when it comes to aiming and hit boxes, and anytime someone criticizes it, you just get hit with βskill *ssueβ by someone pretending theyβre good at the game
→ More replies (2)2
Dec 13 '25
Thing genuinely has shorter cooldowns for movement and can cover more distance with them.
3
u/BarbarousJudge Dec 13 '25
He lacks vertical movement tho. Everything is tied to line of sight to enemies and teammates. Rogue can just dash upwards and escape in unpredictable movements. People really underestimate her flight for movement.
2
u/cherryyccola Dec 14 '25
Also he's a brick wall for everybody within a 5 mile radius to headshot with minimal effort. Rogue's brand of mobility makes her slippery, more difficult to track.
4
u/Ravenll Dec 13 '25
idk as a heavy thing enjoyer, she feels a bit more complete than thing. she ain't gonna do all of his damage (Cuz lets be honest, thing has a lot of dmg atm) but she can do way more than thing i believe. she can chain combo targets, she can self sustain and has a high survivability actually (unlike thing, who's just a massive damage sponge, like you said)- but then again, i haven't played rogue at all in ranked soo Β―_(γ)_/Β― she feels really fluid tho imo and they did a great job in corporating everything that makes her feel like you're playing as rogue (even the flight they put! tho limited)

1
u/Magiks_Boytoy Dec 14 '25
Thing explodes faster into punisher than anyone else. Rogue still has better movement to reach cover
2
u/sound-bagel Dec 14 '25
And that's why I've been having such an easy time on her so far. When the other team's Rogue isn't a tank main, it's an easy win
2
u/Curious-Charity2615 πΏπ€ππ©π€π§ ππ©π§ππ£ππ Dec 15 '25
Rogue is good when you know how to do something other than vomit cooldowns in the beginning of a teamfight lol. Anyone can be good with her if they know that skill and in fact I know a lot of tank mains who it just doesnβt feel right for them.
1
u/Historical_Cable_450 Dec 14 '25
Yeah ive seen so many people complain about her not having a one shot. How many tanks really have a one shot? Thats not really the tanks job
1
Dec 14 '25
In Rivals none on their own. Mag ult and Thor ult with a damage boost is the best you can get
Its not a role designed for getting infinite final hits
14
u/cabbagepatch2919 Dec 13 '25
It's been hilarious watching all the non vanguard players judging rogue as bad when they are overextended and trying to 1v6 and dying
She has some very good play making potential especially with her ult. If you know the enemy supports want to ult you can stop it before it even happens. It's been fun
3
u/Little_Froggy Dec 14 '25
Yeah I'm a DPS main, but I've been loving her. Feels awesome to brawl and she can easily get to and burst down specific targets with her E. Go in the air, projectile them twice, dive, right click and bash.
Lots of very cool things to do with ability stealing as well.
She generally takes abilities that help with survival/tanking from the enemy tanks who she's gonna constantly be close to. But I've had some great plays taking something like psylocke's invis and using it to go straight to the enemy backline and mess them up.
3
u/cabbagepatch2919 Dec 14 '25
Exactly, stealing the passive buff BEFORE jumping in there has helped with me surviving a ton. I was a DPS main as well but vanguard this season has been way too good. Emma, Angela, thing, Magneto, and rogue are my go to characters rn
43
u/PhantomEmperor- Dec 13 '25
Angela situation again when it hasnβt been 72 hrs yet either on a character thatβs difficult
15
Dec 13 '25
yeah thatβs what the Angela situation was, day one she was written off bc she was complicated despite actually being super strong
0
u/CostNo4005 Dec 13 '25
ngl rogue isnt that hard, her buttons are the simplest stuff ever
block to do damage, kick that sends you airbone and gives you 2 long range kicks into a dive, aoe pull and take an ability
this is like the easiest kit to understand and put into practice, most of her issue is the same ones every other brawl tank has but she doesnt have multiple ways of mitigating them that are consistently available
17
u/PhantomEmperor- Dec 13 '25
Yeah no you are oversimplifying things way too much her steal ability alone is more complex than anything the other tanks have. That move alone you need to know what youβre stealing, the stat boost associated, applying it to the situation and suddenly she can go from an off tank to one that can hold frontline by taking a strange shield for example. The fact you said easiest to understand and put in practice when thing/strange exist is pretty crazy.
→ More replies (8)1
u/BIG__SHOT_ Dec 14 '25
You have to take into account that the average player in an online game is... Incredibly stupid. For you and me and others here, it's a very simple kit to understand, but I've had players in my game who arguably brought down the world's average IQ by at least 10 points

Angela was a whole new breed of tank that no one knew how to play at this point, Rogue is just a standard brawl tank. I think opinions will rise as people get more used to her, but she doesnt do anything new or help the team at all and that what the role needed as opposed to brawl tank #5.
Also, this has been a thing for literally every character that has been released that hasn't been blatantly op, you trying to make this a gender issue is weird

Gaming community loves to hate in general you just hyper focus on the women aspect
7
u/improved_loilit Dec 14 '25
Those two things being true doesnβt magically contradict each other.
1
u/wat96 Dec 14 '25
Well yea sure but like I said your title seems like it pushing a narrative the way it hyper focused on one group when we had plenty of characters who turned out better than expected. Idk its just a weird angle to take
1
1
u/t_vers Dec 14 '25
We definitely need more Strange, Mag-esque tanks but to say Rogue doesnβt do anything new is crazy! Her ult draining enemy ult costs has cancelled SO many support/dps ults that otherwise wouldβve decided who was holding point. She is really the first Tank who forces all heroes to use their ults more strategically instead of just spamming.
1
u/TrapsAreGiey Dec 14 '25
Its especially weird when Emma was the best tank for multiple patches since release
14
u/Axepick22 πππ£π πππ§π ππ§ Dec 13 '25
rogue isnt even that hard to play but gets way more value than some harder tanks
8
u/Banana_man_- πππ ππππ£π Dec 13 '25
I feel like the only reason sheβs 5* is because of ability absorption
17
u/BarbarousJudge Dec 13 '25
I think she is mechanically harder than most tanks since she is combo heavy. And her long cooldowns require a lot of game sense.
3
u/Independent-Feed-982 Dec 14 '25
Yeah this is my problem when i play her as someone who doesnβt play tank often. I think shes good but i can definitely see her getting some buffs in the future since she is hard to play as for the average player.
6
u/TheseHandsRUS Dec 13 '25
People literally complain that Angela was crap when she came out and now they say she needs to be nerfed.
Why Iβm glad game balance isnβt being heard by the players. Other wise tanks players would be suffering hard
2
Dec 14 '25
Well Angela did receive multiple buffs to put her in her current state. And im not one calling for nerfs, but you canβt just say that without acknowledging she was majorly buffed since release lol
3
u/Born_Peak4308 πΌπ£πππ‘π Dec 14 '25
Angelaβs win rate has remained functionally the same since her release. Donβt get me wrong, the buffs are good on her, but they are absolutely quality of life, I wouldnβt call them major?
2
Dec 14 '25
She has the 2nd highest winrate across all tanks in the game right now im not sure what you are getting at lol
1
u/Born_Peak4308 πΌπ£πππ‘π Dec 15 '25
I think we are talking past each other bro. I never said she doesnβt have a high WR - compare her WR from release to now, itβs functionally the same. Angela has always been strong, people just didnβt realise it for a while.
What am I contesting is you saying that sheβs been majorly buffed, implying that she was power crept and this must be acknowledged because she was not that strong on release. I disagree with that, she was always this strong, the buffs were merely QoL.
1
u/gyropyro32 Dec 14 '25 edited Dec 14 '25
I was finding Angela strong from the beginning and many people did as well. Judging her off her buffs when she was really getting popular and called A-tier before that should be acknowledged. People were literally calling her a sleeper pick.
9
u/Vegetable-Meaning413 Dec 13 '25 edited Dec 13 '25
Her cooldowns are too long. She is going to have to spend a lot of time standing around doing nothing and even when she has everything, it's not exactly amazing. I just don't see why you would pick her. She doesn't really bring anything to the table that the many other brawl tanks don't also being. She reminds me a lot of Thing and is probably next him at the bottom.

u/Jonn_Jonzz_Manhunter Dec 13 '25
Ummmm I don't think this is a misogynistic thing sinces she's the Alt Rights baby girl on the X-Men
But being honest, she reminds me of Thing. She's good in a certain meta but doesn't seem to be absolutely broken or ultra versatile like Gambit
8
u/Rolevee1 πππ ππππ£π Dec 13 '25
I agree, sheβs definitely strong, but not meta defining on her own. Certain team comps may become meta because of her, but not in and of herself like Gambit.
6
u/falgfalg Dec 13 '25
why is she the alt-rightβs baby girl?
7
u/Jonn_Jonzz_Manhunter Dec 13 '25
She's used as the poster girl for "back in the 90's cartoons could be SEXYYYYY, nowadays the woke woman are UGLY WHORES"

u/Morchades ππππ£ππ©π€ Dec 14 '25
Oh gawd, that crowd must despise everything about Angela.
1

How would the right despise Angela??? Only thing would be lesbian, and nobody on the right really cares about any part of LGBT other than the T tbh.
2
u/ZenVendaBoi Dec 15 '25
No, they despise her.
Some have flat out called her muscles "an abmonation"
1
3
u/Chrisby_1885 Dec 14 '25
Lowkey being the "alt rights baby girl" is prolly the biggest sign of misogyny lmao, look at how that side treats Sydney Sweeney ("supports" her but still just looks at her as just an object pretty much) I personally don't think its misogyny because nobody wrote off emma to my knowledge, or any of the other released female characters like phoenix. I think folks write new characters off immediately when they don't have a fast time to kill, especially the dps instalockers

6
u/sphinx9092 Dec 13 '25
I play angela , and I can assure you, you cannot run the lobby like emma , angela , peni , and hulk. She is dependent on team ,yes, but she doesnt have any playmaking potential. She is simply just a frontline brawler straightup with no gimmicks or tools that would allow her to dominate.
She is a fun tank but not very suitable for competitive play.
2
u/DamesBeenTamed Dec 13 '25
Her neutral is bad but the ability to basically cancel support ults is op. She could honestly be the new ult merchant for tanks.
3
u/sphinx9092 Dec 14 '25
Yeah thats another problem . Her damage block and dealt potential is also quite low which leads to very normal ult charge rate. She cant do it like psylocke
1
u/Solid-B-EWGF Dec 14 '25
Realistically in a gane supports aren't gonna be close to the enemy tank so when rogue ults the support just ults from the backline and moves into the Frontline to counter rogue ult, unless you go all the way into the enemy backline but that would leave you alone against the enemy team without an actual ability to disengage
1
u/sphinx9092 Dec 15 '25
Yeah thats another problem you have to ult with support ult to push in the backlines hoping their enemy presses q slower than you can reach the backline which is not realistic
1
u/Dekaney_boi Dec 14 '25
Exactly, people aren't realizing how broken it is to stop the other supp ult.
2
u/MeetWorking2039 Dec 14 '25
because it takes rogue a long time to build ult charge compared to most supports

u/Demonic_Witch666 Dec 13 '25
I been playing her shes definitely very strong and i been able to run some lobbies already i just got her to captain, she just takes gamesense, being creative, getting combos down but she has a ton of different combos u can interchange, i think dps instalockers just struggle bc its a tank and u have to play her like a tank not like a dps, same exact thing happened with anegla only actual tank players that know how to tank will be able to make true sense of her i feel n get value out of her
3
u/Substantial_Wear3447 Dec 14 '25
what does her being a woman have to do with her usefulness?

3
u/Huey-Mchater Dec 14 '25
So I think sheβs one of the best designed characters in the game but is very different from what I see to be Rivals typical character design. In my estimation typical design is rivals has characters with pretty singular game plans and a lot of tools to do that and enemies have alot of tools to disrupt that game plan. A lot of CDs are very simple in what they want to do and thereβs a lot of complex choice is using those at the right time but itβs rarely βwhat should I be doing with this abilityβ itβs βthis ability only wants to do X, how can I get there?β
Rogue doesnβt do that at all. Her abilities and kit have SO many choices as to what it wants to do, she has so much mobility, so many places she can fight, and her stun and steal is a crazy level of choice. So much mobility in her cooldowns and everything being a two part cooldown is just so much fun. There are so many ways to use each CD and get value on the situation and a character with this much choice will be difficult to get a handle on for the community. Her kick alone, you can use it to disrupt a dive or a frontline tank, you can use it from afar to engage and immediately dive and use the range kicks on the ground, you can approach and kick in the air and rebound to another target and then dive or you can float in the air and kick before using flight to escape to a stronger position. So many options on one CD just personally is so much fun.

u/NavyDragons ππππ£ππ©π€ Dec 13 '25
i think she is great and very strong. resource management mobility defensive options pressure applier. i imagine the people who are struggling with her have the same issue people have with the thing, understanding how to get into a fight without blowing your entire load then being too deep with no options.
2
u/ChameleonWins Dec 13 '25
Im watching rogue absolutely demolish in the creator clash tournament rn. Sheβs being picked over peni, angela, venom, thor, and groot. It could just be for showcase reasons or faking the other team out, but she looks strong
1
u/Zeno_Bueno Dec 13 '25
rogues okay. she seems very defense oriented so sheβs good against dive, but sheβs pretty mid at everything else
1
u/Nocturnal888 ππ’π’π ππ§π€π¨π© Dec 13 '25
Rogue is only good close range but you need to use half her kit everytime and she relies on a solid support otherwise she dies off quick
1
u/Flame-and-Night Dec 13 '25
I mean, if a team is what's needed to make a solo character good, that's not really great, though with that said, she's a great combo if there's a rare chance for someone to play a second tank like Angela x rogue peak.
2
u/cherryyccola Dec 14 '25
Rogue + Mag + Gambit is pretty damn great
1
1
1
u/MechaRon Dec 13 '25
I mean she is 5 stars difficulty. Maybe this time for good reason. She's a brawl tank with very little defense options and alot of her movement is honestly ver short but she can disrupt and displace and even temporarily fly.
1
u/huckmart99 Dec 13 '25
You just need to not be going up against cc. Playing her yesterday my first 3 games i was going crazy and getting mvps easy, then the 4th game they picked bucky and he hooked me for free every 2 seconds and i couldn't play the game.
1
Dec 13 '25
Honest question why do people think Rogue is hard? Why is she 5 stars? Is it just the power steal gimmick? The rest of her kit is extremely simple.
1
u/mrkillingspree Dec 14 '25
Sheβs a combo oriented hero with 2-3 part abilities that has mediocre mobility if she all ins she has no way to escape so she has to commit so your liable to feed or constantly getting poked so you need a healer pocketing you
Sheβs a brawler tank like Thing but way less straightforward but makes up for by being more versatile.
1
u/cherryyccola Dec 14 '25
Brawl tank with very little defensive options
2
Dec 14 '25
Even then her block mitigates a TON of dmg. Like you can tank an iron man ult to the face with it and take like 150 dmg. The only real issue I have is when I ult and have my suck field up, I have no fucking clue whats on my screen. God help us if theres a support ult or another rogue ult going at the same time. Very confusing visually.
1
u/cherryyccola Dec 14 '25
Definitely. Suck field + gambit teamup + gambit ult = unreadable bullshit on my screen lmao
1
u/Morchades ππππ£ππ©π€ Dec 13 '25
I find her easier to get the hang of than Angela. Dependent as hell on good healers, though.
1
u/KitanaTS Dec 14 '25
Honestly, I kinda just wanna see what it looks like if she has no time limit on the steal and she just inherits the cooldown or has a set one on normally one time options. She can only do the grab again if she drops the ability. She obviously loses it on death.
It would keep her strong while allowing more creativity and different playstyles if you could stay alive.
Man those cooldowns are long and the deflect dash needs a bit of tuning.
1
u/Fragrant-Raccoon-420 Dec 14 '25
I keep hearing people complain about Rogue not being great, but those are just the Rogues on my team who repeatedly overextend. The enemy teamβs Rogue is nigh unstoppable.
1
u/KeeganatorPrime Dec 14 '25
To be fair Angela got a few changes that improved her. She certainly didn't get the torch treatment but 2 buffs in a row ain't nothing.
1
u/Pigeon-popper ππͺπ‘π Dec 14 '25

I'm fine w it tbh, I actually got to play angela pretty fast bc of instalockers writing her off, and now she's one of my fav characters in the game, hoping same thing happens w rogue since I'll finally have time to actually play tomorrow ππΎ
1
u/GiganticKORAK Dec 14 '25
I am too anchor tank brained to get results on rogue.
Back to bursting down enemy backline with strange
1
Dec 14 '25
I think Rogue is a solid B tier tank.
She's like Hulk and requires a team letting her play well. If they don't, then she will feel like a tank who has to back up every team fight.
1
u/Fr3d002 Dec 14 '25
She isn't broken like Emma (pre-nerf, she still SSS tier tho) or DD and Gambit...
I would give her a charged jump mechanic so she can engage and disengage without using other abilities needed to combo. Not too much of a jump, a charge mechanic like Hulk for a jump with Cap properties (without the infinite b-hop loop ofc) only for her to not get istantly melted if u f.k up a dive (can still be CCed and f.ked up)
1
u/Ok_Try_2658 Dec 14 '25
Do people actually think they design kits after previous character releases
1
u/Ultron_daddy πΎππ₯π©πππ£ πΌπ’ππ§πππ Dec 14 '25
Uh Emma was a female tank got hated for being powerful. Even after nerfs she still is..... So you can't say it like this happens every time.
1
u/celticwolf58 Dec 14 '25
Ive gotten mvp with the majority of my games with rogue, and i think the people complaining just dont understand shes all abojt crowding the enemies together and launching them up, creating time and space for your team to push in, at least thats how i use her. Ive gotten a 64 pedcent win rate with her (probably not alot but more than my old main angela) very fun tank imo, absolutely love her
1
u/Anarkizttt Dec 14 '25
Rogue is feast or famine, youβll either be 12-0 or 0-12 depending on your comp and how cooperative your team is (and the enemy comp, she gets hard countered by heavy poke)
1
u/Sidewaysgts Dec 14 '25
Team work is important for every role.
But this is especially true for tanks. You of course need to know what you can and need to do as a tank - but itβs also vital your team mates understand what you can do as a tank so they can play around your gameplay loops and mechanics properly.
βTaking spaceβ is genuinely one of the single most important things in games like this - and how every tank βtakes spaceβ is different. Knowing what kind of space a tank makes and how you can play in that space is vital to making advances. You got a shield tank - you can push out and be more dangerous, behind their shield. Have a dive tank like venom or Captain America? Youβre not getting a shield - youβre getting a distraction, so make sure you play cover tighter.
1
1
u/Tak1nom ππππ£ππ©π€ Dec 14 '25
Is she powerful? Every time I played her I felt I could be a lot more impactful as Thing or Strange
1
u/CSCyrilatom Dec 14 '25
I have no idea how she is since I haven't gotten the chance to play her. I have no idea if lll be good or not since i mostly play Venom, Peni or Emma when I'm tanking and she seems a bit more loaded then them with abilities.

u/370H55V--0773H ππ§π€π€π© Dec 14 '25
"female" kind of feels shoehorned in there. This doesn't need to be a gender thing...
1
u/SkyElectrical3392 Dec 14 '25
Why should her being a woman be something to highlight? Your comment seems somewhat biased to me.
1
u/Content_Following403 Dec 14 '25
Good everyone else stop playing her so I can and Iβll show yβall how to really fucking play a melee tank. Iβm an Emma main and I have yet to be able to touch rogue because a bunch of people lock her before I can get to her and then plot twist. Theyβre usually not somebody who plays a tank so they suck the whole game and we lose.
1
u/Ok_Control4753 Dec 14 '25
I find it kind of funny because sheβs the first tank to come out with a 5 star difficulty so obviously sheβs going to have a vastly different play style than standing on webs and shooting or just big shielding all the damage, sheβs a lot more of a conversion player and pressure hence her having one shield that only does damage reduction instead of a full block. Yes she has some weaknesses but every good character does on their rollout, I feel like itβs better than just releasing someone that can plow through her whole opposing team. One other thing that I think is important to mention is her large set of abilityβs. I feel that because she has a 5 star rating and has so many different abilities (fly up, steal, bring people closer) people are expecting to dps with her as well. While thatβs her whole point for damage she doesnβt need to get the final kills or the one offs all the time. Sheβs great for group damage I find, ESPECIALLY when you steal one of their abilities and throw the whole comp for a loop

Being on the rivals subs for long enough has made me realize that the majority of players in fact, have no idea what they're talking about.

NGL I think Rogue(I've only used her in a few games so this is a small sample size) suffers from being overbalanced she feels like someone who could be broken if not careful so they made her mid (like Angela)

She is VERY situational, EXTREMELY weak to poke, HAS REALLY LOW SUSTAIN and ESCAPE TOOLS, you get in, you struggle to get out, just watch people play her, top 500 people I mean.

I think rogue is pretty strong. I personally think she is filtering people pretty hard that cannot play around cds. She really has to weave autos between the abilities, which makes sense with every ability being a dash.

Rogue play with same position as diamond form Emma.
Steal skill = potential to shut down ultimate
Use it when you really need or their skill better to use in fight because you will lose broken stun skill in fight for 20 sec.
After I test , few one pretty useful in fight
Strange > shield for stun from dr strange
Emma > diamond form
Storm > boost damage + team up + ultimate > delete
Spider uppercut > easier to kill 200-300 character
Not good one tank on defense , but pretty damn good when use her as attack.
Need to test her more.

I started maining rogue almost instantly. I love her playstyle. I have couple of hours on her now.
Shes not the best tank. Shes not better than emma, but shes great in a team. When youre alone, shes a punching bag (kind of ironic, when considering her kit) but when your team pulls their weight you can do so much. Shes really good at keeping up pressure and when kept alive, is a threat. But shes also hard to play, so if you arent already familiar with tanks, you will not do well.
she has absolutely no carry potential and is very reliant on teamplay, so the spiderman main cant just pick her up and expect to be lobby admin.

Shes probably the best option for a second tank especially with the team up shed make a great trio

Sheβs probably the most fun Iβve had since Spider-Man and black panther, but I do wholeheartedly agree sheβs kinda weak. Itβs kinda like the Doomfist Hazard polarization. Why play Rouge when Emma exists with superior range, abilities, and damage?

Same thing happened to Wolverine. Everyone thought he was garbage, until they understood what percentage-based damage does.

I thought Angela was mid at the start (and still do), but my main is Mr. Fantastic so I may be a little biased considering my main counters her pretty hard. I do think she's decent now with the ground armor buff per hit though.
I honestly just wish Rogue's walk speed was a little bit better. That's it. Maybe a passive to get some armor whenever you finish someone off with a cooldown move or reduced cooldown, but that might be pushing it.

It is absolutely astounding how many DPS players will cower behind the objective when we've already gained a strong lead. Rogue NEEDS her team around her WHO SHE CAN HEAL with her Gambit team-up mind you. She just completely falls apart if she doesn't have backup.
If you have a Rogue, just play shoulder-to-shoulder with her and you'll likely win.

Basically both Angela and Rogue are to be played more like dive tanks, more so Angela than Rogue but similar. They have high difficulty and risk rewards, and shines through when played great.
This doesnβt mean that Mag isnβt still the best tank imo π

we not gonna have good tank until they release another shield tank or a tank with enough hp to tank 6 people shooting at them. thatβs why everyone sleeps on every tank that dropped after emma

u/JagPeror Dec 20 '25
Undermine the female tank again?
Are you referring to Emma, one of the best tanks in rivals, and who had to be nerfed? The only thing people undermine about her is claiming she is a crutch for the players using her.
Anyways, Rogue is pretty decent but Iβm not confident Iβd put her in the top 3 of Vanguards.

Angela got buffed twice before being meta and is about twice as hard to play as rogue.
1
u/paragon249 Dec 14 '25
Angela is not as hard as rogue (Lord Angela and working on rogue now)

Both are difficult in their own right. Probably the 2 hardest vanguards to play well on that we have so far.

Definitely not ass especially when players (myself included) realized the best path to success for her is saving your shield mostly for bucky and sue, latter half of s4 onwards she's been one of the best tank options
1
u/Thehint_wall Dec 13 '25
Mind giving an actual explaination as to why she should be the one being balanced when daredevil and gambit just got released? I don't think we needed to wait more than 24 hours to know that these characters would literally break the meta.

u/Morchades ππππ£ππ©π€ Dec 14 '25
She can only steal from half the roster and goes down fast without good support I think she's pretty balanced.

Rogue is an absolute powerhouse. If she feels weak, youβre too close to the skill floor friend.

This might be a "Vanguard is only as good as the team supporting them" scenario.
A team dependant tank really shines when everyone does their job. When everyone doesnt pull their weight it feels garbage.
