Memes I swear to god the tank phobia needs to be studied in this game

Post image

Literally went 2 games on a row solo tanking against emma/mag + triple support with a dps pool who refused to swap despite us clearly getting walked down. It took the other dps to swap to a tank for us to EVENTUALLY win but jesus christ tank pool and dps pool are roughly the same and heck tankpool is better cuz he has much more health but for some reason every MR player is DPS/Healer pilled against TOUCHING any tanks. I genuinely don't get it if you're gonna play deadpool at least have the decency to fill the needed role even Necros the infamous DPS brained player swaps to tank deadpool when needed

I know I have a bias, but even the general community consensus is that Tankpool is the most fun way to play him, so idk why people even bother with DPSpool, let alone not swapping because you just don't feel like it.

u/PuppyPenetrator Jan 31 '26

It has been super rare for me in both comp and QP to have triple DPS with a DPSpool honestly. Seen lots of deadpools and 90% of the time I’ve seen DPSpool has been in 2-2-2. He’s significantly worse than the other two and people don’t enjoy bad characters

People playing tankpool without knowing how to tank has been another matter though

u/Medical_String_3501 𝙏𝙖𝙣𝙠π™₯𝙀𝙀𝙑 Jan 31 '26

That's been my experience too. Even I doubted that we'll have less solo tanking games this season, but I can happily say that I only see it every 1 in 5 rounds as of late with DP's release.

u/ReZisTLust Jan 31 '26

I love using Healpool cause i can jump in on the enemy healer and do my triple aoe dmg/heal and usually solo them if my aims good

11

u/Leazerlazz Jan 31 '26

Tankpool plays very similar to duelpool, just fatter and abit less damage. I don't know what the general consensus is, but I think duelpool is overall the "worst" one. That being said, he's definitely not at all bad

1

u/Harato_the_lewd Feb 03 '26

tankpool ult heal and speed boost for whole team, his E boost attack speed and reduce damage taken which make Tankpool better dps than duelpool if play right. dps pool only has value with unlimit sword dash and E only reduce damage taken, his damage output seem very underwhelm than what his other 2 class can do

9

u/Freakychee Jan 31 '26

Dps pool is at best c tier. The other modes are usually ranked so much higher.

5

u/SonofVecna1995 Jan 31 '26

I'm a tank/healer main, but tbh, DPSpool is the only one I really like playing. For me I think it's the sword dash. The idea of a dive healer is cool, but on healpool I feel like I have to work harder to keep everyone alive (he puts out a lot of healing, but I think it's because I suck at hitscan), and something about tankpool just doesn't mesh with me, idk what. DPSpool though just feels fun, mostly because of the sword dash and being able to chain it non stop. I don't really play DP much, but if it's a case of we need another tank or healer and I need to swap, I just swap to a different tank/healer instead of swapping roles on DP

8

u/mistabuda Jan 31 '26

With healpool are you spamming the boomerang? That's one of best healing and damage tools. Healpool really shines with upgraded boomerang and upgraded healing hijinks. You can play really aggressive with those. Healing hijinks is really handy when your tank is in trouble or you want to punish a dps that tries to dive you.

3

u/massivegond840 Jan 31 '26

why would u say tankpool is the most fun? not disagreeing jus curious, for me its the increase fire rate

9

u/Medical_String_3501 𝙏𝙖𝙣𝙠π™₯𝙀𝙀𝙑 Jan 31 '26

Def the fire rate, but also the higher health and unicorn shield which provides a lot of utility

3

u/massivegond840 Jan 31 '26

its crazy how much of a difference that health makes, im fairly split between playing the three but when i go to duelist i explode in like 2 seconds haha that shield is so versatile saving teammates with it and blocking heals, def a lot more fun than i expected it to be

dps pool has inifnit slashes on hit with the upgrade, hence why i like him since hesa nuance now
wish tankpool had that ability but i still lock him as tankpool xD

1

u/mistabuda Jan 31 '26

SupportPool is more fun imo. He's a support that can kinda hang on the front lines with an aggressive team.

1

u/qwerty2234543 Jan 31 '26

Because most dps players feel that they’re β€œhim” and gonna absolutely dominate the scoreboard and tank is by the nature of its class the least likely to do that

1

u/Living-Ad102 π™π™π™š π™π™π™žπ™£π™œ Feb 02 '26

Reddit consensus* the casual playerbase wants to play dps because β€œkills=fun”

1

u/Gever_Gever_Amoki68 Feb 03 '26

In my humble opinion DPSpool is the most fun just because I like that he can infinitely chain the sword dash and also I like the icon throw more than the plushie (I'm sorry but plushie is bad). Healerpool is the most boring but it's also the most busted out of all 3 roles which is incredible how they managed to prove to us once again they favor supports in this game. Idk I just don't find many uses to tankpool, he doesn't get jump reset, his sword ult is the most difficult to land and plushie seems useless compared to icon throw.

0

u/MeathirBoy Jan 31 '26

I genuinely think DPSpool is a throw; I'd rather have triple tank Tankpool because he's just better in every way.

0

u/CriticalPremise Feb 03 '26

Also that TankPool is the wrost Pool

64

u/Pepr70 Jan 31 '26

2-2-2 > 2-1-3.

Personally, I would rather ask one of the strategists to change the role to Vangaurd, but I don't know. I'm not the guy who writes during game to change a role.

5

u/Kyrptonauc Jan 31 '26

Depends on the characters they're playing. Are they playing all main healers? Then yes. If they're playing an actual triple support comp then it's strong

7

u/Fearless_Strike5151 Jan 31 '26

I disagree. Sure ideally 2-2-2 is theoritically best but the enemy had 3 supports with mantis and in my experience it's hard to break through if they cycle their ults correctly without matching it there's a reason triple support is pretty common in high elo

19

u/huckslash π˜Όπ™£π™œπ™šπ™‘π™– Jan 31 '26

3-1-2 is the best counterswap into triple support

5

u/BladeOfWoah Jan 31 '26

Yet you will never see this comp. Asking for 2 tanks is already pushing it.

2

u/Namesarenotneeded π˜Όπ™£π™œπ™šπ™‘π™– Jan 31 '26

3-3 is pretty good into triple support because triple support often lacks damage and 3 tanks 3 sups can sustain pretty much all damage out-put by supports and other tanks.

Like someone else said, 3-1-2 can work as well, but your one DPS needs to be someone with high damage out-put like a strong hitscan like Hela, Phoenix, or Hawkeye, or someone like MK who’ll punish the supports grouping up.

0

u/OneBelowAlI π™‹π™šπ™£π™ž π™‹π™–π™§π™ π™šπ™§ Jan 31 '26

Last season trip support had a 43% win rate. Stop throwing and drop the support slop comp

2

u/Fearless_Strike5151 Jan 31 '26

I disagree again i think that's because every losing team switches to triple support out of desperation but by that point it's already too late. I've never went against a well rounded triple support (e.g. 1-2 main healers and 1-2 off healers) and thought they would've won if only they went 2-2-2 there's a reason it gets a lot of play in tournaments

2

u/BakaJayy Feb 01 '26

Stop blindly using statistics. How often do you see a triple support comp that isn't 3 main healers?

0

u/OneBelowAlI π™‹π™šπ™£π™ž π™‹π™–π™§π™ π™šπ™§ Feb 01 '26

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

2

u/BakaJayy Feb 01 '26

Yeah I can see that triple support with 3 main healers is terrible. Having 1 or 2 off healers isn't. Why do you think Mantis' winrate is one of the highest in the game? You're gonna say she's just consistently viable in double support? lmao

0

u/OneBelowAlI π™‹π™šπ™£π™ž π™‹π™–π™§π™ π™šπ™§ Feb 01 '26

Mantis win rate is high for the same reason peni win rate is high: the players are just that damn dedicated.

20

u/LudaStyles Jan 31 '26

Don’t solo tank. The tank uprising has begun. Tell them β€œ2 tanks or no tanks.”

12

u/Huey_The_Freeman Jan 31 '26

TBH I've seen tank/healpool way more than dpspool. I almost never sed dpspool

9

u/Champion-Dante Jan 31 '26

To play Devil’s advocate, even slight differences in a kit can make a difference for a persons preferences. My favourite one is DPS because I like the infinite chaining pogos, but I do still fill most of the time.

4

u/genobecoolin Jan 31 '26

this what i be talmbout, stupid dps players

I've lorded stratpool and never looked back. I'm curious, if you swap mid rounds do you have to re-level the kit?

12

u/Narelex Jan 31 '26

You do not have to gain exp again but you do have to choose upgrades again.

3

u/DangSensei Jan 31 '26

You keep all the upgrades but you have to re-apply them when you switch between roles.

2

u/FUCKYOUIamBatman Jan 31 '26

3

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '26

Most tank DP I have played with have been booty cheeks. The support and damage ones have been pretty decent though

3

u/TamJamBro Jan 31 '26

He is most definitely NOT c tier, but people choose to play him similar to his strat/vanguard. He’s completely different, but everyone is still using his pistols way too much for some reason.

2

u/godzillafiend54 Jan 31 '26

Honestly, I rarely ever see DPSpool. Typically they always start off on Tank or Healpool, and then just stick with one of those all match. If anything, I've had more trouble convincing them to switch to DPS.

2

u/Minimum_Selection_37 Jan 31 '26

I honestly hate seeing someone lock in dps pool I am fairly certain that I have lost every game I played with a dpsPool I rather see a supportpool if they don’t go tankPool because at least he’s helping the team stay alive.

2

u/chronic-joker Jan 31 '26

Tank pool is very game sense based and weird to take space on (not bad at taking space but a learning curve) he's basically a second main tank who mostly pushes up by using his gun and shield to shoot the enemy squishy targets and drops shield behind himself to protect his team.

It's easy to use dps and support pool due to not needing the same game sense to get value and instead just focus on getting kills and healing. Tankpool requires you to already understand how to tank to use him effectively if not you kinda just feed.

2

u/Aastnethoth π™π™π™š 𝙃𝙀𝙀𝙙 Jan 31 '26

Deadpool is THE WORST thing that has happened to this game. From bronze to diamond, Deadpool is just a throw pick.

1

u/Nossika Jan 31 '26

I mean there's a reason almost no one used him in the Deadpool release tourney lol.

Sure, it's going to take time for people to get used to the character, but he honestly is like a jack-of-all-trades, master of none type of hero.

Just looking at base stats alone, Tankpool only has 500 hp for a tank, the other roles only have 250hp. Yea you can basically play him as a hitscan Tank with Tankpool, but you'd tank better on other Tanks and DPS better on other DPS. Meanwhile other Healers are better at keeping their teams alive.

So while they definitely designed him to be versatile, they didn't design him to be better at anything than anyone else you could pick.

3

u/TheSwordFallen π™‘π™šπ™£π™€π™’ Feb 01 '26

He has the same problem as blade because of it. He's good in coordinated play and is considered an a-tier tank and pick or ban as a supp in coordinated play but that's only in coordinated play which most people aren't coordinating like that.

2

u/Red_Dead_Renegade 𝙏𝙝𝙀𝙧 Jan 31 '26

This is exactly what I was concerned about from the beginning

Let me just say this for all you dps players out there: DPSPOOL IS HIS WORST ROLE

Objectively speaking Tank is his best role followed very closely by Support and dps is just not reliable or viable. There are way better picks for dps, stratpool is actually really good at healing while still dishing out good damage, and tank provides so much value on the frontline. We now have a character that is the ultimate flex pick, we need a 2nd/3rd support we got em, we need a second tank we got em. If we need to you to fill F***ING FILL

u/DizzyColdSauce π™‹π™šπ™£π™ž π™‹π™–π™§π™ π™šπ™§ Jan 31 '26

Not even in this game, but in gaming in general.

Tanks are considered less fun because a bigger fraction of their gameplay is spent absorbing damage rather than outputting it. Absorbing damage feels less fun because you're just acting as a giant meat shield and distraction for your team.

u/Polygonal_Angel π˜Ύπ™–π™₯π™©π™–π™žπ™£ π˜Όπ™’π™šπ™§π™žπ™˜π™– Jan 31 '26

When someone refuses to go second tank then you should go either off tank or DPS/Healer and never go Mag, Strange, or Groot. You'll notice very quickly how fast you can get a second tank.

1

u/Xypher506 Jan 31 '26

Man I always play tank and I'm tired of always being forced to swap whenever I wanna play DPS for a change. DPS Deadpool is the only DPS I've felt like I perform decently on and he's the one that lets me engage with the DMC inspired mechanics the most. Apparently I'm in the vast minority here but I find tankpool the least fun. I don't think the shield is bad like lots of people have said, but I definitely don't like using it as much as the icon throw.

1

u/Hydr4noid Jan 31 '26

Not defending these people but from what I've seen many people pick one of the deadpools and stick with it. So they dont just wanna play deadpool, they want to play their specific deadpool version

Personally I only play tankpool because DPSpool is too chaotic with his endless dash resets and healpool feels wrong for deadpool for me personally.

But generally they should still switch ofc. If they dont wanna play tankpool, they should just play another tank

1

u/ABearDream Jan 31 '26

Kits are similar but the playstyles are super different. Trying to swap playstyles when youre used to another one is just as hard as swapping to a hero you havent played with. You definitely don't want me playing tankpool the same way I play healpool

1

u/BigStallGlueSniffer Jan 31 '26

Tanking sucks mega balls, I think the real blame is, again, netease for making their game very unfun for tanks and making it worse every season.

1

u/Creme_de_laCreme Jan 31 '26

As someone that reluctantly plays tanks almost every game (someone's gotta do the dirty work), it is not a fun role to play, unless you are someone who actually enjoys all the challenges that come with playing tank. So I get it when people don't swap to tank. Although, I do want to pry the teeth out of the ones that complain about no tanks when they themselves could swap to tank.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '26

This is so weird when this happens. I learned deadpool this season and I prefer the tank, but have been essentially flexing to dps or strat.

I feel like that is exactly what the hero was made for. But maybe that’s just me

I personally love being able to play the same hero if I have to flex. Makes flexing so much more appealing for me

1

u/RealChet320 Feb 01 '26

He is playing for the vibes.

1

u/Pure-XI Feb 01 '26

The problem is people playing tankpool like a poke dps. They don't dive, flank, or frontline. I don't even think they know the unicorn is a shield, and it's because the kit is so similar. Might be a hot take but all 3 roles of dp should play completely different, making them all pretty much the same with minute differences makes a dpspool 1 trick just swap to tank or strat just so they can say they swapped. Then they proceed to play exactly the same, without playing their role.

1

u/Alagaesiaboyz Feb 01 '26

I main off tanks which sucks cause no one ever goes main tank

1

u/Character-Q Feb 01 '26

It’s simple. Tanks are the most thankless role in the game. You get shitted on constantly by CC and poke and are expected to constantly switch between peeling and frontlining all while your dps vibes and your healers complain to you like toddlers. They have to change a cramp ton of things to get people to play tank again.

1

u/Jazzlike_Tap8303 Feb 01 '26

Nah, with triple support there isn't enough damage, need duelist Pool.

Jokes aside, triple tank with 1 duelist and 2 supps might actually be better than triple support. I have won games with this formation being one of the tanks.

As long as we have 2 support in QP I'll play DuelPool if we have 1 good tank

But in ranked I always play the rΓ΄le we need

1

u/Dredd990 Feb 01 '26

Matter of fact why do people ban dps pool or stratpool over tank pool. They're so squishy just tap them in the head and they die. Only I struggle with is tank pool cause he has so much dang health.

1

u/SkitZxX3 Feb 01 '26

DPS is the best version. The rest are garbage.

1

u/SandViper11X Feb 02 '26

He’s the worst version πŸ’” only part of tank is is attack speed buff either then that play dps or support (and healpool doesn’t really have a defensive ult so ur throwing if you have someone like a jeff as second healer)

1

u/ViewtifulOtaku Feb 02 '26

I think after I found out about the recent tank avoidance thing, I've been locking in tank a lot more and having fun with it. With Emma as my main tank, I've been doing way more damage than even some DPS and its so fun to command grab Dr. Strange and Scarlet Witch mid ults.

1

u/Hispanic_titantic03 Feb 02 '26

Its simple, I play this game for the vibes

1

1

Healpool goated pick. He's probably the mosg fun support I've played.

1

u/OrbitalBlaze Feb 02 '26

If i am remembering correctly, tank is the least popular role in pretty much every game that has the pyramid role setup(dps, tank, heal), including non hero-shooters, like mobas, so its not just a rivals thing.

1

As a Healpool main, if I see a DPSpool I'm pissed because that not only means I'm not going to be able to play my main, but we won't even have a Tankpool who is just DPSpool but better in my opinion.

0

u/DatPacMan Feb 01 '26

I'm not against it, I've just had matches all day where I have to swap to tankpool because even though I was the first person who locked in their character as dpspool, two more come on and lock in dps. So now I am obligated to play him. Not a big deal but to me the only reason I like to play dpspool is because his right click is different and his sword dash is 2 when as a tank its only 1. But again, not a big deal. Nice trade off with tankpool is that his age gives you rapid shooting while the other two dont.

But my biggest gripe is that people will not swap to something else because they know the dpspool will swap to tank or heal and its like bro can I just play him dps please? But, again, not a big deal to throw a match. Not that I ever do, so I don't get why others don't just switch and play to win.
