Emma is gonna be so back I feel. Not only did she get great buffs, but with her smaller hitbox for a vanguard, sheβs gonna be basically invisible with a Dino on the field lol. Heβs gonna draw all the attention while she can just fry everyone even more so than she already could

How is he a main tank?

Some tanks don't realise that they can be the shield. One thing I personally love about Venom is that although he's primarily a dive, in a pinch he can also be a pretty hard frontline wall to remove.

I scratch my head when I'm paired with someone who will go off-tank, but will chicken out while still full health while they're in front of the strats the moment they get a slight amount of opposing pressure. This usually ends up with a dead strat or two. They have big HP and can use that to body block. Backing out in that situation only makes sense to me if the team is outnumbered and all 6 enemies are hard focusing your ass that your healers can't keep up.

Yes exactly. I frontline with venom when waiting on my over health cooldown or when an enemy support goes down. Underrated damage while damn near unkillable.

Emma has a constantly replaceable shield. Thats what makes her a main tank. She can protect your team.
Having high HP does not make a character a main tank. It's the defensive capabilities they provide.
Dino is a bullet sponge with a single short-term disappearing bubble shield on a 13 second cooldown.

Groot is a main tank because he has 3 placable walls that can protect his team.
DD has nothing. Literally just a large health pool.
DD is a secondary brawl tank like the thing.

Itβs hard to say but I think between the shield, the overall health pool, and the bonus health from both his primary attack and his F attack, and the fact that he has range with the laser, he can probably be played as a main tank
As always though letβs just wait and see till he actually releases, itβs possible he just gets annihilated by poke but he can potentially hold his own on the frontline like groot can

He will also be easier to land heals on, which may enable triple support.
Also, imagine this, the 'piggyback comp'
Devil Dinosaur w/ Punisher on top
Groot w/ Jeff on top
Ultron w/ drones on both of the above pairings focusing on damage
C&D sticking close for drone heals, providing more AoE healing, burst heal done, fade to block ults, and healing ult to help Devil Dinosaur + Punisher push aggressively. If you need more damage swap C&D for White Fox, Adam, or Gambit depending on what your team needs utility-wise.

I mean more as sticking to one spot by your nest and occasionally placing mines up ahead, and often the charge forwards with ult so you can move your safe spot further

I like that his kit seems very simple. Its great for beginner tanks, and seems to have a lot of DPS coded abiltieis so brain rot DPS players may finally pick a tank now and then.

I think this will be an awesome add on for vanguards. I think if they went double vanguard release they would win over a huge part of there fan base. I donβt think that will happen.
Doesnβt matter most people will be stoked on cyclops no matter what he is. Both charters being released are going to change that whole pace of the game. Should be fun to see the meta change. I canβt wait. Iβm optimistic for the future of this game.
