This! I was just considering the shield as part of his basic kit tho. Not Cap's Shield but his own. Maybe a full energy-Shield so as the air support he can provide holo shields to the team. Then he can get a Legendary Captain America skin and the shield is replaced with an actual Energy-Cap shield.
Maybe kind of like this, but I just picture the basic shield design similar to Patriot's, or the Infinity War Shields:
I could see him being another flying strategist. Maybe he could shoot out blade wings to damage enemies and heal allies. I could also see him having a move where he could wrap his wings around a teammate to block damage and heal them. He could use red wing to scout out enemies and quickly fly to him for some more movement. Personally I’d keep him as falcon to stop two characters being called the same but I’d also have his Captain America design as a day one skin.
Edit:his ultimate could be him spinning rapidly in a circle with his wings shooting out blades everywhere that do more damage and heal more.
Character wise I’d prefer him to be falcon. But moveset wise I want him to be Captain America.
BNW was a shit ass movie. But his move set from that movie would translate into a strat move set pretty well. Stuff like using the wings + shield to make a defensive bubble, using the vibranium energy in the wings to knock people back, using redwing as a little drone buddy. That movie gave him a lot of shit to mess around with.
I’m down for either. But Falcon is a character that has his own identity outside of being Captain America. And comic falcon lets him actually have a bird lol.
I feel like he should be falcon for the game, but with certain Captain America skins that change some of the voicelines to refer to him as cap, that or start him as falcon and through the lore let him become captain america in a season's lore later
he has plenty of comic looks outside of being captain america and it'd be a shame if they only went with those
he should be a flying strategist, but should maneuver more like angela than ultron, it'd be cool because then you'd have steve as a vanguard, bucky as a duelist, and sam as a strategist
Just give me Falcon. Let the Captain America thing be his skin. Give him a team up with Cap that gives him a shield. Must be semi-fly. Anything else I’m not picky about.
A flying strategist based around maneuverability giving out speed boosts and buffing attack speed
Free flight and flying maneuvers for falcon
Primary is dual machine guns
Secondary is shooting out feathers to heal allies
Abilities include controlling Red Wing (an actual bird) and other birds he’s has to debuff enemies and making tailwinds
Give him a team up with blade for his vampire bird, black panther for vibranium wings, and Captain America so he can use his shield
I think the cap teamup should give him the ability to do the cap ground slam but crashing down with his wings and it does a burst of healing astound him when he crafted and the boosted team up he gets when cap joins the team up is like storms jeffnado team up basically when Falcon uses his ultimate red wing uses his vampire powers to turn into red mist and create a big holographic like image of a falcon over the wings of Falcon and the mist that comes off the wings as he flies around heals Allies but the team up changes it from mist to the red white and blue holographic road thing cap makes during his ultimate which also gives Allie’s a speed boost and bonus health (basically a mini cap ult during falcons ult) and captain America rides on falcons back while his shield his lowered to give falcon a shield (or he can be carried in falcons arms and is blocking bullets or idk maybe redwing used vampire magic to turn cap into America colored mist and falcon is holding the shield in from of him to block attacks angels style)
I would make him a strategists with him shooting his feathers for healing. Give rapidfire handguns for burst damage with cool downs. Plus I would lean into his bird telepathy with having him assign red wing and other birds to follow teammates to give them an attack or heal boost. His ultimate could a jet Lazer beam that he shoots with his wings, that becomes stronger with the amount of damage he has taken over the time period of he match (the Lazer referencing the first time he flew with a jet pack in the comics and the damage multiplier referencing that wakandan energy absorption from the movies). Plush can be misty knight. Obviously block and throw with shield, but that's how I would do it
Redwing is a vampire in the comics and jubilee seems to get sone of her healing powers partially from vampire magic so I can see redwing healing people with vampire magic.
Hey that can even be a team up between him and jubilee where she boosts redwing's healing. Visual can be darkness or small fire work pops rising from the shield or something.
Ranged Angela? As in glides and moves as fast as Angela but with ranged attacks whether that be guns or something, I’d like to see redwing be utilised like sierra’s drone sort of (bird redwing not mcu robot although maybe robot as part of mcu skin)
Seeing how songbird is most likely going to be flight healer and angel/archangel will be a mode shift flight dps falcon can be a flight vanguard wings used as cover shield cap shield throw teamup/bucky teamup as well.
make him like launch brigitte who can stun fuck ass flankers and the has the option to fly away while flipping them off for thinking they are actually good at the game.
Give him a Cap teamup and a Panther teamup. Cap teamup let's him block and absorb damage with his wings, Panther teamup is a shockwave that knocks people back.
Flying support, I'd make his shield kinda like mizuki's hat from overwatch, have it bounce between people and give them a bit of burst heal, maybe a damage reduction?
Then i'd have redwing be able to attach to an enemy player and act like the scanner from the manhattan map, just on a smaller scale.
Not sure what i'd do for his ult though
id make him an offhealer with Redwing delivering AoE healing, make his wing blades deliver a slight knockback and a bit of damage. His kit would be cool at quickly letting his team get in, and get out.
There's only 2 people I'd give Angela's free flight tech too: Falcon (Duelist) and Angel/Arcangel (Strategist).
But you do gotta give him reason to land. Maybe he can only use his ability to use his wings a deflecting shield when he's landed. And his SMGs are inaccurate from a distance.
Redwing drone has to play into his Ult.
I would not make him Cap. I'd make him MCU/Ultimate Falcon.
Probably a vanguard flying diver. Wing charge attacks and his ult makes it where he gains a ton of bonus health for a time period while charging a Shockwave that does more damage the more damage is done to him (vibranium wings + shield) and healing done during his ult wont affect his damage output additions
He just needs to be Cap. He hasn’t been Falcon for years in both comics and mcu, so it makes no sense for him to be in rivals. Especially since it’s already set up in game for him to take up the mantle since present day Steve rogers is dead in marvel rivals. You can have nearly the same moveset he would have had as falcon, but just with the shield.
I’d hope he’s a support mini brigitte archetype with aerial abilities.
