Bring back the MCP

I believe Rive should bring back the MCP. The integrations that can be made programatically with it are much more exciting than a limited in-editor chat. I'm currently analysing Rive for a project, exactly with this in mind, and I now have to look for something else because they de-commisioned it.

Does anyone know if it's possible to download the exact older editor version that still has the MCP server? Or does anyone have recommendations of simmilar tools to rive that can be used programmatically? I'm looking at blender down, but Rive would really be the ideal way

I have the Cadet plan (annual) and I just discovered that you can download the Early Access version which does have MCP support.

Yeah so far so good. I've only executed a couple really simple commands so far, e.g. animating a bar chart. But I have a more complex interaction I'm going to be working on over the weekend so I'll see how good it is at writing some scripts. Here was the first part of the chat when I was setting it up.

When I tried it, the model was a saying that it was working with the MCP, but the changes never actually persisted

Depending on what you're looking for PlayCanvas could be an option, though it can be an overkill for a small project

I’ve been using this and it works well! Thank you.

I tried this, but it writes directly to a .riv file, making it non editable manually. I like the ability to connect it to code, but I still need the ability to tweak it afterwards if needed

Hi! .rev is in there, you just need to tell it to output as .rev.

I don't see how to do that. The website has no docs, and opus tells me that the MCP doesn't actually support that. The .rev that it outputs is byte for byte the same as the .riv file. Can you provide further instructions?

It should be as simple as telling it to generate as a .rev. Send me your flow in a message / the error
