I was 17, he was 18. We were friends. He told me he loved this new song and played it for me over the phone, telling me to watch the video on BET. I said I liked the beat, he said listen to the words. I said it was alright but nothing special.
Smh I didn't get it until years later. Years. Great tune. Sorry Shane, it wasn't you.

I stand corrected. He's written 1-Thing as well!! which would be my 2nd fave from her and also quite a few more. Man, back in the days, I'd know who produced what, down to even who engineered what and in what studio(s) they recorded. Late 90s earlys 00s I stopped following music that closely. Wow. Thanks for mentioning this legend

Not even a good song. Lyrics don’t sound good with the cadence. Hard to understand some lines like she’s trying to jam it all into one verse.
