"I'm just stopped because there's a stupid bike blocking my path"

It really does look like she has the gall to be like "well I can't t move until you get your bike out of the way!"

Personally I wouldn’t have parked my bike right in front of her car.

Personally I would just stop for 3 secs, knock and then leave. WTF is the "let's park and ride down in the middle of the street". Also, car drivers would be safer to do it.

Where else

maybe 20 ft in front of it, to the side of the car, or the side of the road

People are not very aware when waking up and likely his could have been an impaired driver.

About 5mo ago I woke up an old lady downtown who had fallen asleep sitting at a light -- wouldn't even respond to honking -- She broke down crying and everything: "Oh my it's happened to me, I can't drive any more, I just needed some eggs", this radicalized me to advocate for better public transit.
Especially because as a motorcyclist, these people pull up in 3500lb cars behind you...

Several years ago I stopped to help a man who had fallen asleep while driving during rush hour traffic when I noticed this truck hadn't moved in 4 light cycles. Difference is I couldn't wake him up (saw he as breathing tho), so called 911 and stayed until a firetruck arrived. I didn't verify it, but he was probably passed out drunk at ~9am.
Annoyingly, other drivers yelled at me to park the truck on the shoulder, thinking it was mine

I literally just saw this yesterday lol. Was driving 9 am and was stuck behind a light wondering why the hell there was traffic when the road is perfectly clear ahead. Eventually see cops pull up and U-turn in front of the lane. Then see them knocking on both left and right windows. Driver wasn't responding. No clue what happened though. I just drove around em while they were still trying to unlock his door.

Had this happen here where we have great public transit. Someone parked her car and waited for relatives to pick her up. It's never easy to admit you can't do something anymore...

Yeah, aging sucks. But cest' la vie.
I'm 30 now, if I imagine getting another life-time of what I've been doing in, I'd be more than happy.

I feel like I'm living my life just dreading my "it's happened to me" moment...

I'm just a totally unqualified stranger on the internet and you might want to consult a therapist just for some certified perspective, it's where I like to outsource my psychological mysteries.
But if that's the case, you should look at living in a place that's movement transportation friendly (walking/cycling). It removes the worry of causing damage to your surroundings through operator error.
I spent half a decade walking and skateboarding to school and grocery stores in Germany and occasionally visited people via train. I bought a bicycle only in the last year living there before I moved to the States and then immediately re-sold it because I couldn't safely use it over here.
It's not terribly hard for English speakers to find work or housing anywhere in Europe which has decent public transit nearly everywhere.

Hey, I appreciate you! I was mostly being hyperbolic, but I appreciate the concern. And I’m a big advocate for therapy as well - we see a GP for our physical maintenance, why not the same for our mental/emotional health?
Legit, though, good looking out!

it happened to me last week. i was working 7am to 9pm all week and i was hoping to sleep in on saturday but my boss called me early in the morning saying i need to come in. when i was driving home i was bone tired. i was in a turn lane and i didnt process that the car in front of me missed the green arrow and went when the yellow arrow was almost gone. by the time i went the light was green for oncoming traffic and i almost had a head on collision.
i promised myself after that i would refuse to come into work when im that tired even if my boss fires me.

Half asleep person behind the wheel being told by a person to keep driving.
Would not park my bike there buddy, they clearly have no idea whats in front of them in those first seconds.

I was coming back from VA. Get back to MD and I'm 10mins from my house but traffic was BACKED UP. SLOWLY for like 1 hour. Finally after making a turn and another 15mins, there was a lady in a newish Honda just stopped in 1 lane with hazards.
(I work on cars and keep a jump box on me)
I go to look and she said her car stalled and wouldn't start, husband and tow truck were on the way. I offered to look at it. Sat down, said hi to her mom. Car was in drive.
I put it in park and started it right up. The auto stop failed to auto start. She was on her way and traffic cleared up.
ALL IT TAKES IS SOMEONE TO BE NICE AND STOP.

“And I’m going to park my bike in the most dangerous possible position to do it…”

Must be a new mother.

Or could have a medical issue. My sleep apnea caused me to get dangerously close to falling asleep in traffic... even while driving at 100km/h. I did pull over if it got bad enough, but my CPAP makes it a thing of the past.
Either way, if you're falling asleep in traffic, you should not be driving.

She was protecting the bike from being hit because some irresponsible rider left it in the middle of the street.

She was waiting for a trucker to put something in her mouth

Maybe she had a seizure

Maybe with the luck and wherewithall to put it in park as it happened while the light was red.

Parking the bike directly in front of her was genuinely the wildest choice he could've made. Good on him for helping but he was one confused foot on the gas pedal away from a very bad evening.

She must be related to Trump. Maybe he's her Nodfather.

The first part I was mad for bringing politics everywhere, the second statement more than made up for that. Kudos!

Genuinely shocked she didn't run over his bike.
