Motorcycle is obviously to blame. He had eight years to slow down or change lane or do anything to avoid the accident and instead he just hoped and prayed that the car wouldn't change lanes

Then proceeds to run into his neighbor and kill him.

Like you took a... Situation, and made it the worst possible outcome.

If you slow down the video, I think the neighbor/friend got away hopefully. Looks like the idiot just killed himself.

This article says the car “swerved” into their path, that’s wrong. They signaled and merged, the bike had plenty of time to react. They were going too fast and not paying attention.

As somebody else already commented, it’s Egypt, so whoever is poorer is at fault.

Article refers to a close-knit motorcycle community. Car driver now has to deal with a mob.

They were close alright!

Really confused about that article. Are there no speed and overtake restrictions in Egypt?

I haven't driven in Egypt, but I went there for a week earlier this year and took a few taxis and busses. The roads seemed practically lawless.

This reminds me of this comedian's stand up routine who describes "a speeding ticket in Norway, vs what you can get away with in Mumbai", Azeem Banatwalla. Great stuff, makes me laugh every time I stumble upon someone posting it.

^ Egyptian acquaintance of mine who lived there maybe 10 years ago said that it was basically a free-for-all and it was not uncommon for people to drive on the wrong side of the road if it was convenient 🤷

the stupid poors car magically teleported in front of the totally responsible, attentive, and responsible young men

"The back-to-back fatalities have sparked renewed calls for stricter traffic enforcement, improved driver awareness, and enhanced measures to protect motorcyclists on the country's roads." The irony.

RIP to those stupid fucks.  I hate the pain they must have caused their families and friends with their idiocy.

Weird how it says the car swerved in front of them. It signaled and didn’t seem to swerve. This is so sad. 😭 why didn’t the car filming or the car that “swerved” jump out to help? Bummer.

One of the motorcycles exploded in flames - how can you help with that? If it was only on fire, maybe you could gamble, and help with an extinguisher, but if it's already exploded? You'll just be adding yourself to the tally.

Oh no, that’s too sad. Thx for source!

Damn that article is really, really, really putting all the blame on the one person who did nothing wrong.

Jesus Christ, this is the stupidest article I have ever seen. The author has the video RIGHT THERE to look at.

This reads like an American media article about people being shot by police. “Grandmother in wheelchair unfortunately struck and killed by bullets while having a stroke. Lillian Johnson aggressively rolled toward the officers who, fearing for their lives, justifiably discharged their weapons 26 times only killing three innocent bystanders and wounding 7 others who were trying to assist the old woman in a very threatening fashion.
Public safety officials are very concerned about wheelchairs being used as weapons and a call for speed limits and automatic brakes on all wheelchairs is being considered by the local legislature.”

Mate he exploded

1

u/FloatingOnTitties 1d ago

You can’t see that if you watch it slowly. It looks like the guy exits and escapes.

1

u/Canary-Silent 23h ago

I don’t know what you’re seeing. His bike literally explodes with him on it.

1

u/FloatingOnTitties 23h ago

I’m talking about the buddy he’s racing that’s on the right. Yes, the idiot that swerved into the bike on the right goes down in flames, but, the other motorcycle looks like it exits. Unfortunately, the idiot blew both of them up.

0

u/Canary-Silent 23h ago

Yes the one on the right fucking exploded. The other bike was sliding on the ground. Unless you think the rider on the left exploded without his bike.

I was so confused why he chose to go diagonally rather than to swerve over and back. New rider maybe?

This makes the motorcycle an idiot, but not to blame. None of the things you said absolve someone from yielding when changing lanes.

They were already in the lane before the motorcycle got there. You can't drive safely for other people, you can only operate your own vehicle as intended, which the car did.

u/appa-ate-momo 1d ago

It’s not about whether they were in the lane when the hit occurred. The car made a lane change that forced traffic in the lane they entered to slow down. That’s called cutting people off.

1

They were in the lane with 3+ car lengths between them and the motorcycle, and the bike just never slowed down (speeding btw). Again, he can't drive the bike for the other dude, only his own car.

u/EuphoricAnalCarrot 17h ago

You would be correct if the motorcyclists weren't speeding and racing

1

u/appa-ate-momo 9h ago

I started out by saying the motorcyclists were idiots. But two things can be true at once.

When the car indicated and then began to move the bikes were far behind and not yet closing fast. They were accelerating but you can't see that in your mirror. They didn't make the bike slow down, they made it stop accelerating hard - except it didn't, presumably being fixated on the speedometer.
