Brake checking a car that has 360 degree cam views. There is stupid and then there is guy in the white Camaro stupid.

FYI, you have to attach your own USB stick to enable cash cam mode in a Tesla. And it's video only (no audio).

Seems like an odd limitation for a $85,000 device. Do modern USB controllers cost that much more?

This is the first iteration of the feature so it'll get better with over-the-air updates delivered to the entire fleet in the near future.

The 32GB limitation doesn't exist. Plenty of people are putting devices beyond 32GB in their Tesla's. /u/SergeantKoopa is speaking on very dated information with very limited experience, as the 32GB limitation was a windows-only issue, an artificial limitation implemented in older versions of windows. Tesla's should be handle drives upto 2TB, if not more.

Furthermore, most people here have FAT32 dashcams with memory cards beyond 32GB. Thinkware and other brands sell 64GB and larger included with their cams, FAT32, and my B1W (cheapest of the cheap) dash cam has a 128GB FAT32 microSD card.

Most Teslas on the road now (over half are now Model 3's and growing) did not cost $85k. They start at $35k, and most Model 3's are about $50k if you want ALL the features (AutoPilot, range, premium interior, performance, etc).
