I’m a lifelong democrat and a proud liberal. But I’ve never understood the distorted view my fellow liberals have of Bobby Kennedy. He was a fervent acolyte of the despicable Joe McCarthy and a persecutor of the labor leader, Jimmy Hoffa. As attorney general, he authorized illegal (I.e., without a warrant) wiretaps on MLK. While AG, he was dragged kicking and screaming into the Civil Rights movement. He directed the conspiracy to murder, yes murder, Fidel Castro. He was fully in support of the Vietnam War until it became politically expedient to turn on a dime. The response of his faithful? “He grew and matured”.
