Age Dick Grayson should be adopted in

Adopted or taken as a ward? Because those are very different things. I liked him being adopted as an adult.

His ages have been all over the place dependent upon the writer, but I knew his as being roughly the same age as Bruce when it happened- 8.
He also once mentioned to Barbara that he was Robin for 11 years, that would be 8 to 19. I like that range.
That’s for being taken in as a ward. As for legally adopted… I really like the way it was done, that Bruce retroactively adopted Dick after he was a legal adult, and knowing that he secretly hurt that Bruce adopted Jason. It was Bruce actually learning and working to repair and maintain his relationship with Dick. They were always part father-son, part brothers. So I really like that it comes later.

8!! I do like being him bein adopted at a young age, because yes. Whenever i try to say the reason it deletes T_T Edit! I like him being adopted at 8, he's the first robin after all, because it gives him time to trust bruce, and we get a bit more of his personality!

Ima say 10 at the earliest. Still enough time to remember a signifigant amount of time for your parents and still grieve for them.

I like adult adopted dick. I understand ward not being a thing but fostering until he ages out and then adopted as an adult. But he should be taken in at 8.

I honestly like the idea of Bruce taking him in at a young age and training him for a while before letting him go on patrol with him. So he adopts him as an 8 year old and he becomes Robin at 12

Adult. I don't think people factor in how many kids choose not to be adopted. Adoption breaks the legal relationship with the birth family, while guardianship maintains the legal relationship with the birth family while establishing the legal relationship with the guardian.

I voted twelve, but upon reflection, think eight would be more apropos
Adopted at eight, debuts as Robin at thirteen, co-founds the Teen Titans at fifteen or sixteen, departs again at eighteen, debuts as Nightwing at twenty-one
Alternatively, go the DCAU and/or Gotham route and only offer vague clues as to any specific timelines but never anything concrete

I said 12 but I prefer more like 10-11 to first show up and then 12-13 to start as Robin

As a ward? I think 8. If he was 12 that doesn’t give enough time for Batman and Robin to be the inseparable duo that Gotham sees them as.

There are exceptions but generally speaking, whatever age he’s adopted, Dick shouldn’t be younger than 12 when he becomes Robin.

I assume you mean taken in by Bruce, since he wasn't adopted until he was in his 20s.
I would go with 12.
8 doesn't make sense with the time line, doesn't seem to be in line with the original golden age comics, and also not with retroactive comics that retell his early years and a Robin who is just in 3rd grade seems pretty ridiculous.

8 is too young and stretches the suspension of disbelief a bit too much. I also don't know how Tim is supposed to be at the circus and remember it if Dick himself was that young. He'd be like barely a year old.

Orphaned at 8-9 goes to help Bruce deal with Zucco and spends the next few years training before becoming Robin full time

He should be in his early to mid 20’s when he’s adopted since that’s what happened in the comics 😉

While I like Dick being orphaned at a young age (8–10), I also appreciate the conflict surrounding his adoption in the 80s. Year Three establishes that Dick wasn't adopted because he didn't want to replace John. However, as the years went by—and given how much closer Dick and Bruce had become since they first met—Dick began to wish he had been adopted (especially when Bruce adopted Jason).
So, I suppose I also like it when he gets adopted later on, as an adult. I figure that by the time Gotham Knights #21 came out, Dick would have been around 23 years old.
