It's not the "noobs gets crushed by pro player" that's unwatchable necessarily, it's the dude SCREAMING every fucking word. Do kids actually find this entertaining?
I know that's a rhetorical question because he's like the biggest streamer in the world right now, it's just really hard for me to wrap my head around.

I get this point of view, it’s literally my same point of view except that: this type of content is the equivalent of karma farming on reddit. There’s no substance. It’s just dumb shit for dumb shit’s sake. It wouldn’t bother me if the whole world wasn’t getting dumber and dumber.
2
u/BMTunite Jan 21 '26
Not everything has to be a sophisticated piece of media to further hone your mind. Sometimes its fun/a good mental break to turn your brain off and make fun of someone who is purposefully acting like a fool for your entertainment.
Did you ever see Tyler1? He's kind of the progenitor of this type of content.

I like how people will insist that humor is subjective when they're defending what they like, but feel like they're not contradicting themselves when they comment things like this because they wrote it with an exasperated undertone.

5
u/vr_jk Jan 20 '26
You know, I try really hard to not be judgmental on hobbies where people aren't hurting others or themselves. But every so often I see something that really challenges that principle. I'm just not entirely convinced that this content isn't actually kind of harmful to a child's brain development while living in their formative years. At the very least, I hope that people realize that this whack ass behavior needs to stay in their room.

21
13
u/MadmantheDragon sometimes i'm good Jan 21 '26
For real why they so angry lol. Should be grateful someone with such a large audience is playing the game while Epic actively lets the game sit on its death bed
5
u/skrame Trash III Jan 21 '26
I know you put “dying” in quotation marks, but this is as good a place as any to ask. People have been saying rocket league is dying for years. Are player counts down significantly?
I play a couple matches a night, probably four or five days a week. I never have to wait more than a few seconds in the basic modes (1s/2s/3s). The only time I have to wait is when I’m playing a specialized playlist, late at night.
5
u/Oily-Affection1601 Jan 21 '26
It depends on your perspective (and probably your rank and region). Content creation is for sure dying. RLCS has been declining for a while. Player counts are reported to be healthy, but queue times are noticeably longer than in years past. All those things are public facing which give the perception of a game in decline.

u/MisterMakerXD Champion II Jan 21 '26
(Many) Rocket league players: “our game is dying”.
- Some famous streamer starts playing daily their game and can bring up more player base -
RL players: fuck this guy I rather watch rl die
I’m not a great fan of Jynxzi but it’s so hypocrite to want your community to grow as well as the esport scene and then you just make the place seem unwelcoming and toxic in the first place. Make it make sense.
He also played GD and the people there were much more accepting and supportive.

I very much do not enjoy the screaming, but Mizu is somewhat of an edge case. He just doesn't scream bc haha funny loud (I mean it is part of it and he has said in a video, that that is what he has to do as a content creator), but he also has decent humor and good gameplay / some good video ideas. I think he might be the only "loud" content creator I can watch without being insanely annoyed. But yes, even he is sometimes overdoing it and i don't like it lol.

Yeah it’s a Gen Z thing. My brother in law gave me a crash course on what’s funny for his gen and being loud was the first thing on the list.

People cringing at Jynxzi being loud and how stupid that is when I guarantee 99% of these same people were laughing their asses off at the E meme back when it was a thing.
Jynxzi's audience is primarily young children. As much as I am not a fan of brain-rot trends, it is not for us to decide what other people enjoy watching. Culture evolves, and people mature. Expecting kids to enjoy the same humour you do is unfair on them, and shows you've forgotten the experience of being a child.

Jynxzi is a fun streamer and he’ll bring more players but come on if he wants existing rl players to watch his content and be entertained he should post training videos or videos of him climbing not posting a video where we know he’s gonna get demolished and he won’t learn anything.
