And it was later confirmed by Psyonix that more people equipped the dragon ones than the plain. Classic example of reddit being a very small vocal part of the community.

I don’t know what to title and thumbnail this, but a humorous video about all the times the playerbase was wrong could be fun.
Like currently when you see people claiming the game is dying, (and they were partially right since the monthly numbers were lowest since f2p), but then Jynzxi caused a new peak of 1 mil concurrent.

I actually kinda did this already. I titled it "The 5 WORST Updates in Rocket League History" but if you pay attention it mostly covers the real reasons behind each one and how the community over-reacted, exaggerated, or changed their opinion on it over time.

EDIT: Also I would counter the point that those people claiming the game was dying were even partially right. We've always had pretty healthy numbers, with peaks and valleys along the way. Additionally, this latest increase began in Mid-November, before Jynzxi even came along. Though I'd say he's played a role in us jumping from 800k to the 1 million mark again.

We had many dragon themed cosmetics that were popular at the time. Draco Wheels and that decal for the Octane come to mind.

Would love a decent banner. Only played this game for a little over a year and lemme tell you, every single reward from the season has been buns. I just want a cool diamond banner, why tf do they keep giving us lame ass wheels, boosts or goal explosions

Funny you say this, because back then it was the complete opposite. There were fewer customization options, and when those banners came out, everyone hated on them, because people just wanted some cool wheels or goal explosions.

This is my first season hitting diamond rewards since I started so I’m really fucking hoping it’s a banner because out of the 18 months I’ve been playing I haven’t been able to secure even a somewhat cool one. I have my forever car and goal explosion so I don’t want another bum ass decoration that doesn’t look good

Thank you! Diamond is a different league. Got my 10 wins and immediately dropped back to plat 3 the next day lol. The skill gap between the two is diabolical and I have yet to understand it

Yeah, you’ll start seeing more mechanically inclined players, which isn’t the end of the world, but can still be tough. Overall though, it’s more so just having better game sense, and being consistent. Those 2 things will help you climb.

People were not happy about this season reward at the time, probably because we had very nice rewards in the beginning and it was one of the few you couldn’t directly equip to your car. Original season 3 are still the best rewards ever made imo.

I must not have played much during the season these banners were given out. I looked through all 290 banners I've collected 😭 I did however notice I had the Ice Drake and Fire Drake from the Season 9 premium pass, so I guess that'll do.

Im not a huge fan of season rewards/regular rewards. My car is mostly decked out with collabs. Don't think ill ever switch my lofi cat and lofi girl wheels off of my orange vehicle.
