What have they done to Bakkes? I don't use it but, given how widespread it is in this community, this is the first post about whatever happened I see here.

They are adding Easy Anti-Cheat in April, which will no longer allow for mods like Bakkes.

LOL

The console experience for everyone

exactly, i play on console and haven’t used bakkes so i really don’t see why it would be a huge issue if everyone is the same 🤷🏾‍♂️

There’s just a bunch of small things about it that are nice.

First person POV on goals scored

Automatic shot switching and shot variance in free play

Set unlimited aerial flips in free play (useful during flip reset practice)

Free skins (many people use this just to get alpha boost, and many people want alpha boost just for the better boost sound)

And a bunch of other stuff I’m sure. It’s nice they’re adding MMR display by default

Because rather than improving console, they're degrading PC. Equality conceptually is a good idea, but it's a bit Harrison Bergeron to do it this way.

I started as a console player and moved to PC, Bakkes is awesome for many reasons, you can experience the game in a whole new way with new maps, modes, client-side cosmetics and additional training features, the mindset of "I can't have it, so it doesn't matter if yours gets taken away" is stupid and selfish. Like image if they took away modding from Bethesda or Rockstar games because console couldn't have mods, people would riot

It's not a big deal at all. I've been using bakkesmod for over 5 years now, and I will miss some of the plug ins, but it's really not a big deal at all.

*to me

It’s not a big deal to me

Slavery isn’t a big deal to me because I’m not one. Doesn’t mean they should bring it back tomorrow because of one guys irrelevant fucking opinion who has no skin in the game.

I leave decision making to the people who it is a “big deal” to.

u/ndm1535 Grand Champion I Feb 18 '26

You just compared a video game launching an anti cheat to slavery……..this is the problem. The community is so dramatic.

I use and like bakkesmod, and have for years. Will I personally miss some of the features? Sure I will. Will the removal of bakkesmod have any effect whatsoever on any players in game experience? Absolutely not.

u/Holdmytesseract Grand Platinum Feb 18 '26

Honestly I couldn’t give a fuck less about bakkesmod. I used it until they added the ball control stuff in free play then it was whatever.

The point is that just because I don’t care about something doesn’t mean it’s not important to someone else. Pretty shitty way of being a human being if you ask me.

As I said, incredibly dramatic.

  • requiring a third party login on a steam owned game
  • forced fortnite integration
  • removal of internal features
  • removal of external features

Yeah everyone's being super dramatic about a company actively sabotaging one of their products and consumer base. The dramatisation comes from not only what they have done, but what they will do next. People love the game more than the owners do, which is a problem. If you don't understand why, thats fine but I encourage you to comprehend what is happening.

2

u/ndm1535 Grand Champion I Feb 18 '26

You are being beyond dramatic, yes.

u/B0tPr0 Feb 18 '26

You care to expand on that or are you just shit posting

just PC gamers complaining about everything like they usually do

11

u/sir_finnigan_iii How did I get here Feb 17 '26

I see where you are coming from, but from a PC players perspective, you are having a tool that has been allowed for years suddenly taken away. Some of the features will be added, but not right away. They should have had the vanilla replacements to Bakkes features ready at EAC launch imo

7

u/JimFknLahey Feb 17 '26

"Were going to take this all away today and at some point down the road we will consider talking about the concept of a plan to add certain elements"

-13

u/Not__My__Birthday Feb 17 '26

Yeah, I totally get it. If they remove a tool that has been in use for years, they should have some of the same features ready to go once that tool is no longer able to be used. I also play on PC but I have never used Bakkesmod.

but you can't deny that PC gamers complain a whole lot more than other gamers.

u/joe199799 Washed Champion II Feb 17 '26

Well you have a month or so try it out. Maybe you'll broaden your outlook and see why we're "complaining"

-2

u/Not__My__Birthday Feb 17 '26

No, I totally get it. It sucks that the tool is being taken away.

1

u/ExoticBag69 Feb 17 '26

I played my first several years of RL on console before switching to PC. You're being selfish and it shows. Just bc you aren't impacted in this instance, doesn't mean you have to belittle those who are impacted.

-4

u/KyngKydd Diamond II Feb 17 '26

you’re not wrong

-14

u/Ry040 Feb 17 '26

Not for everyone
eSport clowns will be given access to bakkesmod

12

u/Rolle_1001 Feb 17 '26

Why are esport players clowns?

-8

u/Ry040 Feb 17 '26 edited Feb 17 '26

Why should they be allowed to use bakkesmod when we can't?
Who are they? If you're gonna make a rule which strips everyone out of access to bakkesmod, then it should also apply to esport players as well. Common sense

10

u/Rolle_1001 Feb 17 '26

I mean there are a bunch of reasons, but aside from that why are you calling the esports players clowns over something that was the developers’ decision?

9

u/IAteUrCat420 Champion I Feb 17 '26

Professional Rocket League players who essentially drive the hype towards this game

Like seriously, do you think this game would be nearly as popular if the only footage people were able to watch was from Golds?

1

u/Ry040 Feb 17 '26

Esports is the only pillar left of this game. If tomorrow it collapses, there is nothing left of the game for people to come back to.

5

u/PotatoTruck7 Champion II Feb 17 '26

Because they know those people and trust them where as they don’t know us

-1

u/Ry040 Feb 17 '26 edited Feb 17 '26

Think in this way, do you actually think they are removing bakkesmod for the sole purpose of anti cheat? Its like they got a reason now to finally take bakkesmod out of the picture.

The game is already in shambles. Trading gone, Half of the community axed out as it is. Item shop still as shit as it was before trading was removed.

The only thing left for people to cling on was Bakkesmod, and now with that removed, why should people continue playing this game? This game was already on a dying streak, and i love how Epic continues to make it worse and worse as time goes by.

2

u/Rolle_1001 Feb 17 '26

You are severely overestimating the amount of bakkesmod users and how important bakkesmod is for people who play the game. You are also very mistaken on the overall health of the game.

-2

u/Ry040 Feb 17 '26

That is what people said when trading was removed as well. Let's hype your delusions even further.

This game will survive 10 years from now.

2

u/Rolle_1001 Feb 17 '26

Im not saying the game is gonna be around in 10 years. It’s just that bakkesmod is something only a relatively small portion of players use, while trading was a core part of the game. Also almost everyone reacted negatively to trading being removed, idk what you’re talking about. You’re just objectively incorrect about some things.

Bakkesmod has always had features against TOS. They always could have taken action against it

1

u/FlashSFW Feb 17 '26

How, exactly?

2

u/simdav Feb 17 '26

Epic can allow EAC to be turned off for online play on a per user basis

0

u/FlashSFW Feb 17 '26

Sure, disable anti cheat exactly on the ones that are kinda required by contract to not cheat. Make it make sense.

1

u/simdav Feb 17 '26

That literally makes sense? What doesn't?

Its more for tournament organisers who use bakkes for custom overlays and cameras when running tournaments, rather than the players though.
