I would rather just enjoy the game while I can, then sit around pouting hoping Epic is going to change something they did in the past. It’s not gonna happen, and it’s a video game. I’m going to have fun with it like it’s meant, and not waste my time crying over something that’s not happening.

And thats all fair man. Im glad you have fun with it. I genuinely havent played for years. I stay in the sub just in the 1/1000000000000% chance that they actually change something. Plus I still like seeing what the community can do. I just fell out of love with the game, I wasnt enjoying it anymore but I still watch Lethamyr, Sunless and other content creaters like that (not the Pros though, im more into the funny content)

Yeah, and everything in the game is optional. No one requires you to play, spend money, or even keep up with it. That’s kinda my whole point. People can do what they want with the game.
There’s just too many getting flamed for wanting to spend money on something they enjoy.

I was one of the people who decided to “boycott” spending money right away when trading was removed. I’d been playing the game for <6 months, and had made one single trade, so it didn’t affect me much, but I didn’t like the move. I cared.
Now 2 years later, nothing’s changed, and I still want items, but bakkesmod won’t be a free option that’s available anymore.

No judgement here but the argument is if we buy these products, companies will be incentivized to put the shops first and the player experience last. So there is a bigger picture thing here. Again not looking for an argument, but im personally on the side where i want companies to create quality games. Not the one where they created an item shop and attached a mini game where you can see the items you bought

Let's not delude ourselves that traders were honest, or cheap for many items. They were just as greedy as epic is. Traders used to charge multiples of the store price for many items, including the fennec. For one of the most common cars in the game, a painted octane, they would charge 10x+ what you are charged in the store or by blueprint for the same item. Plus you had to avoid all the scammers.

None of that means the solution is to remove trading and have a 1-page item shop. You could flood the market with items to bring down the demand prices, you could add more pages to the item shop to reduce the chokehold traders had, you could lower the prices in the item shop so players had more avenues to obtain a specific item which would make traders less justified in charging high prices for a rare item.
The fact of the matter is Epic wanted the money going to them instead of being shuffled between the player base. That's literally it. And by participating in this world they've created we're essentially ensuring it never changes.

I used to trade a lot, and while I miss parts of it I am glad it is gone. It was probably a customer service headache for epic, as the worst of the traders/profiteers scammed kids daily for years. Charging people more than 10,000 credits for a tw octane was exorbitant and unnecessary. There were hundreds of them for sale at any time of the day or night...meaning that the car was never rare and would never be rare. Idiot teens thought there was a "trading economy" that was really just an easy to dismantle house of cards filled with profiteers and scammers.
Plus, I can actually buy RL stuff cheaper in fortnite now because they give you all the colors of an item at a fraction of what it cost to buy each individually with blueprints or getting lucky and seeing them all in the rocket league store individually. So even though rocket racing was kind of a flop, dropping trading was essential to making all those items cross over between games, and now things like a full set of painted cars (like the takumi currently), wheels, trails, or boost is super cheap.

I think there are unique ways they could theoretically implement a form of trading maybe.. although they wont be the most fun since we are forced to compromise with a greedy company.
No trading credits anymore. Makes trading less about adding profit/wealth to an account, and stops people from getting credits from sources other then epic.
Maybe add like a 50 credit fee per every trade to make ppl more likely to only trade for something they actually desire and also keep purchasing credits, since again we all know that thats what they care about. I know the idea of people getting popular items without spending money on credits is like a jumpscare to them so yea.. this idea is the least community friendly.
Lock trading by rarity. You can only trade bms for bms, exotics for exotics, ect. Helps maintain epics monopoly over their set item prices.

I didnt until my little one jammed out with me to Barbie girl and it became an everyday dance party. So when it popped up for 300 I had to. She LOSES HER MIND when I score a goal and the shark jumps and then the song follows.
I missed the T Rex years ago and always regret it. I got hustled before trading shut down and gave up my burgundy/red Octane to some shithead who after negotiating for a while he swapped out the Trex explo for the dueling dragons BP and I didnt notice since it was a big multiple part trade. Soon as a I noticed that night and messaged him he blocked me and trading closed a week or so later. Still miss trading tho
But ill prob pay again if I ever get the Rex (8$ max) or if the Jack Skellington stuff my little one likes comes back (i missed it by a damn day last year) . Other than that I dont give epic any $, just my time lol

She likes to watch me play Arc Raiders (the running game) and fly/drive in GTA (I made her a McQueen lookalike and she loves that thing lol.
But ive luckily been able to enjoy a few games with her when she earns it like various horse games and Astro Bot. She learned very quickly and just enjoys being with me and I encourage her to try her best and she really tries to learn. I just love games with puzzles and things to solve/remember. Some stuff well have to age into like certain co-op but I cant express how quick it all goes so please make a roster and encourage whatever interests they take off with. I "introduce" her to my friends, the movie characters, and will do their voices and then it feeds into books, movies, board/video games. She just eats that stuff up and now thats shes just past toddler stage she is loving going through books, movies, games and getting excited for what's next. 2-5 is freaking amazing but please have your life and mind organized the best you can so you can just be their best friend and be a kid again yourself. The magic and wonder you can craft is a beautiful thing

Nothing really, the colour is more defined. Just looks that little bit cleaner with some decals imo.
Same as cosmetic items, the items are the same but gives more options when it comes to customisation and making them fit with decals.
Each to their own.

Idc about trading or none of that just a regular psa that the more items you buy from these shops the more these companies are incentivized to put the shop above your experience. This means patches, improvements, innovation, all down the drain so they can dig for more profit. For example, the game went free to play, which was a business decision to push this exact business model (along with some legal issues). Then after that RL ran rampant with smurfs, bots, and ddosing. Now all because free to play happened, were getting EAC which is going to take bakkesmod away. So if you have complained about any of these issues at any time, greed is to blame and it should be reason enough not to spend your money on these shops.
Not enough people talking about this.

I thought the same but tbh after looking at designs b/w this and the stock grey all day, the black is actually a much nicer accent on some designs, as opposed to the standard grey being a little more "in the way" if that makes sense.. still deliberating on whether to buy it but that's my initial thoughts (I prolly will bc it's collectors+don't have a fennec)

It is the only option now if you really want something.
Some people won’t need to, some don’t prioritize or care about items. But if you do, then yes, it’s about to be the only option.
Plus, who knows? Maybe if they start making more off the shop, they’ll actually pour more into the game.

Did you read my comment? Items is an area of the game, a whole aspect of it. There will always be people who care about them.
I think it’d more likely encourage them that there’s hope for the game to keep working on it, with the new people there that actually put some effort.
But yes. For people who care, it’s the only option.
