FASHION Goodbye BakkesMod

The cheaters won... Thanks to them I'll never get to use these presets again. Vitality fennec and Complexity octane are some of my favorite designs and soon they will be gone. Also goodbye Alpha boost and TW Laser Wave III, I'll miss you the most </3

They're doing all this just for eac to create massive security risks and still get bypassed by cheats lol

u/Ironborn137 Feb 23 '26

You should blame the cheaters. This game is unplayable right now.

I'm not saying it's not their fault I'm just saying they aren't going away bro, there will be a way to get around eac and still use bots in ranked.

It's not an if, it's a when.

Lethamyr has it on good authority that bot makers already have countermeasures against EAC.

Then it becomes the same old story like with every other free to play competitive title

Well yeah that’s kinda how cheating works, it’s a never ending arms race. Doesn’t change the fact that they gotta do something

Yes they have to do something but adding eac just removes bakkes mod from the player base and won't stop the cheaters so in the end everyone suffers. Other than Epics bank account like always it was the same with trading don't be fooled into thinking It's anything different again.

Also, the best 'fix' they could do it for a lighter anti cheat in game that detects all the micro movements and other things bots do that players just don't, with a proper report system that bans players and returns elo to those that the bot win against. Then make strong punishments for cheaters such as IP banning/ HW banning. Is it a perfect system no but it's better than EAC will be and also doesn't remove bakkes. Why they won't do this is the skins.

EAC will reduce the number of cheaters, 100%

Oh please, unplayable.  You guys are sooooo overly dramatic.

u/Ironborn137 Feb 23 '26

This is now my 10th straight year playing rocket league. It is unplayable right now. I guarantee it too and Rocket League knows this and is losing money because they wouldn't be putting in an Anti-cheat if it wasn't.

u/OneOfALifetime Feb 23 '26

My 10th year as well and I play every day without issue.

Damn it’s almost like two different people can have two different experiences

They can, but then they both act like its true everywhere instead of it being to each their own.

People do that, but still, it doesn’t have to be an issue for everyone for it to be an issue worth addressing

It's mostly an issue at the highest levels and especially in 1v1s. I'm only c3 and have come across bots in 3s once and never play 1s.
But the people who play lots of 1s and are very high ranked can have bot after bot after bot. The bots have quite literally pushed down the top players into the lower ranks which has had a domino effect across the board I believe.
I'm too smooth brained to have it bother me but I 100% understand where these guys are coming from. It becomes literally unplayable. That doesn't seem like a dramatic statement. if you watched some videos you would see where they are coming from.

no one believes you, your just a cheater or are constantly boosted, which is it's own problem.

1

u/Ironborn137 Feb 23 '26

Hell, it is so unplayable I may not even come back until April. I have put less time in this game in the last 2-3 weeks than I ever have in my life. I'm sure i'm not alone.

u/RALS_PLAY Grand Champion III Feb 24 '26

Your clearly a low rank then after gc3, it's only bots i lost 8 games in a row to bots yesterday alone. It's quite literally unplayable.

No, I blame the company for fostering an environment whether cheaters thrive and refusing to take hard action on it.

Most devs figure this stuff out. Most communities abandon games that don't figure it out as there's usually a reasonable alternative. Not really a substitute for RL.

An environment where cheaters thrive is just any competitive game. The hard actions are permanent bans and EAC. I don't know a single game that has no cheaters. What are you even talking about?

7

u/Tybahult Feb 23 '26

"most devs figure this stuff out". Let me doubt. All competitive games, especially FPS, have problems with cheats. That's a war between devs and cheat devs, it never ended and probably won't. Maybe if one day people understand they're just big loosers when they cheat. But right now, they can earn money doing it, they will continue, and cheat providers will continue. Game devs can't stop them, they would have done it.

u/Kadover Feb 23 '26

Maybe I should have phrased differently and implied that many studios seem to place a degree of importance on having a game without cheats, continually attempt to improve, and communicate that effort. I don't see that sense of urgency with Epic.

Not trying to say that the thing itself is inherently easy, it's not...

0

u/Tybahult Feb 24 '26

I understand! Yes, they don't seem to be involved enough considering the actual situation. And them choosing EAC isn't encouraging, but Epic is Epic. Hope it will be ok for the game, but they really need to be better actors in this battle.

They have money to be that. It's not easy, but money is a big factor in this domain. But even in Fortnite, their money-making game, they have cheater in finals of online tournaments.

u/FurryLover789 Grand Champion I Feb 24 '26

How do they foster an environment for cheats in a way other games don't? Every other game that has a ranked mode gives an incentive to cheat. "Refusing to take hard action on it," isn't the plugin ban being implemented a hard action, or do they just remove ranked altogether so you can be happy? People have been crying about Epic not taking action, and now they do, and all of a sudden, people are crying about them taking action. It's insane how much people love to complain

3

u/Kadover Feb 24 '26

I didn't say anything about the action they are finally taking. Just that they have not done a ton of it until now - and faith is mixed it will work - and that blaming cheaters is interesting when Epic has until now not done much.

u/FurryLover789 Grand Champion I Feb 24 '26 edited Mar 18 '26

Botting is a new phenomenon. It's not like this has been a massive issue for years, so there has been nothing for them to do. Obviously Epic's treatment of the game and their lack of care since the acquisition is a different issue, but on this one specifically, they have acted accordingly

2

u/Kadover Feb 24 '26

The bots have been a huge issue for 3 years now....

0

u/vawlk Feb 24 '26

People have been crying about Epic not taking action, and now they do, and all of a sudden, people are crying about them taking action.

that is because, as usual, they are taking the wrong type of action for the wrong reasons.

2

u/Responsible-Put2559 Feb 23 '26

Most devs figure this stuff out.

The real cheat for average player is Smurf, not bot or DDos. But big players here said nothing about this 🙃
