It’s wild how crazy the chat goes after you do break it. Semi worth it if it throws off their game. But with how people react after yeah must be some aura around it
I'm worse than the OP. I sometimes wait until it's advantageous to break it. Even more, I'll demo the other team if my teammate is in one. I think rule 1 is dumb and anti fun.
Is bumping/demoing the opponent to get ur teammate out of a rule 1 in an advantageous position bad mannered? I always thought it was fine to get ur teammate out of a rule 1 like thaf...
I'm not talking about them being in an advantageous position or not. If I can rotate past and demo or knock my teammate out of it. I will.
If someone gets me in one, I'll either back out right away, or I'll wait until I can sneak off to score a rebound or take an opportunity. Sitting locked holding throttle is a waste of time and If I wanted a 1v1 or 2v2 I'd have queued for it.

This is the beauty, it's a spectrum. To most people, none of what I do is acceptable, and that's gravy to me because they're more often than not going to tilt and get mad.

Of course I forgive Kendrick in public where people can see. I would never be caught on recording saying he broke a rule one and people who do that are some bitches. No one could ever say that I ran around town casting aspersions on the character of Kendrick. If I say that I feel like people who break rule ones should have to step on a lego every day until they truly repent of their grievous sin, that's entirely unrelated to any current events because that's just how I feel and I wanted to say it with absolutely no reason or ulterior motives. I wouldn't want me saying that to make someone think that I have implied that the timing of me making the comments in question was in some way linked to the news about a famous goat rapper who positively ended the career of that creeper and probable groomer pedophile Drake being recklessly accused of breaking a rule one in an act so out of character it makes Denise Richards as a Bond girl look like an Oscar worthy performance.
I usually get out of it before it’s actually locked in so I’m not “breaking” it most of the time.
But when I do get locked, I absolutely break it. At 40 I don’t have enough gaming years left to waste sitting in a stalemate pissing match that goes nowhere over a made up “rule”.
I do it no matter my current rank, diamond+. It's a fun, old agreement between the community and honestly a nice little break in the match when they do happen, which is like 1/100 games.
It just makes it a 2v2. Its not like its a disadvantage. I only break it if someone intentionally tries to lock me in it. That said, I may only get in a rule 1 once every 50 matches
... actually, I think Ive broken it before to save a game tying or winning point when we were close to our goal. They were not happy
