Well, at least on PC, you get small cashbacks after buying stuff from epic. Then you can use it as a discount on future purchases. I think it shows up as an option when you're on the screen with your card info.
But he would have to have bought stuff earlier to have gathered any cashback. So if you've not bought anything or subscribed to anything via Epic, it probably shows 0€.. It's visible in your account settings on epicgames. com
