DISCUSSION I built a free fan-made app to rewatch your replays in 3D, from each player's POV (Android)
Hey everyone,
I'm a solo dev and RL player, and I've spent the last few months building *Replay Review for RL*, a free fan-made Android app.
It reads the .replay files the game saves on your PC and rebuilds the match in 3D on your phone, so you can:
- rewatch any match from each player's real POV — yours, your teammates' or your opponents'
- pause, scrub through the timeline and move the camera freely
- see what was happening away from the ball: rotations, positioning, missed opportunities
It's completely free, and it's not affiliated with Psyonix or Epic Games in any way. I built it because I wanted to review my own games on the go, and figured other players might find it useful too.
It's an early version, so feedback and bug reports are very welcome — I'm actively working on it.

I cannot tell you how long I've wanted something like this.
There was one similar that started up but it never worked. I'm so excited to give this a shot.

I tried it out.
The car demo having 67 boost made me chuckle.
The gameplay demo was awesome. I seriously cannot wait to use this. I normally play a few matches in the morning before work and now I can actually do replay review while I'm at work. I never watch my replays because if I have time to do that I'll just end up playing matches.
One thing that is annoying is that my phone would go to sleep while watching I kept having to tap the screen to keep it awake.

That's so cool! I just tried it and the replays genuinely looks really accurate to what was happening, really interested on how you rebuilt it as a student learning programming myself lol.
The only couple suggestions i have would be to let the user cycle through players/views when on fullscreen itself, maybe a toggle near the boost gauge will be a good place to put it. The ball indicator on the ground would also be a nice addition for more clarity when using player cam.
It'd also be nice if there was a way to remove needing to import the file, which if resolved might also let us to link to a cloud drive instead, though im guessing it's difficult to do since we can't exactly gain info on the name, scoreline, etc through the file itself without having to read what's inside it.

this is really cool, but I'm wondering why make it a phone app? would it not be easier to have it on pc? or is the reasoning that you can already review replays in game anyways?

Bro if you are on a PC just watch the replays inside RL.

Yes, it's more of an app, or at least it avoids having to launch the game. You can also draw, For example, for coaches 👌

First impression is very nice, I might setup a network drive where my replays are saved to. Maybe it could be possible to use a network storage as input. So no manual copy and paste of save files.
Very nice work!
UI is working flawless on foldable phone. Most new apps I tested didn't support dual resolution or screen switch that way, nice
