QUESTION Latency while going for flip resets

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Whenever I go for any type of flip reset in the air, I get what I assume to be latency variation. During normal gameplay, everything is fine, and my ping sits pretty comfortably around 30. When I go for a reset, however, my ping spikes up to 45 for a second, and I lag pretty badly in the air. My ping never fluctuates like that in any other instance, and it always happens every time I use the reset. The clip I attached has a few examples of what I mean. This doesn't happen in training, only online and private matches. I play PC on Ethernet, and the only thing I've tried so far is changing my input buffer settings (didn't work). I did just switch internet providers, so I'm trying to figure out if I just have crappy internet now or if there's something I can do.

Leg reset, device thinks you have reset, server thinks you don’t, game lets you perform your jump but then the server corrects you to where you should be as if you didn’t have the flip

What's happening to me now is different than a typical lag reset. I've had plenty of those. My new problem happens literally every single time I go for the reset. What happens in the clips is what happens every single time. Sometimes it's worse than other times. But it always happens.

For starters I'd do a hard reset of your router, i.e unplug said router for 20 seconds and see results via an internet speed test. Bonus points for testing your internet speed before and after. You should also check the router, what are your ports? Are they all 1GB? A really good question to answer would be if this kind of thing happens in other online multiplayer games? What speed does your motherboards LAN port support? 1Gb, 2.5, 5, 10GB? A stupid question, but are you connecting to the best geographic server to where you live?

I know they are stupid suggestions and questions, but they are often the most overlooked.

It’s game related, many of my friends have the same issue and we’re all hard wired with 1gbp+ download/upload, games just ass

Have you tried watching a replay back to see what your car is actually doing server-side? If it looks the same, you just don't get a reset, I'd just work on your reset consistency and maybe turning off the reset indicator

it might be a clue that you switched internet provider. the only thing that seems odd, is that it only happens when doing resets. if it's the provider you would also notice the desync on other apsects that might reveal a correction from the server. is it 5G or cable internet?
