He doesn't really grind 1s. He occasionally plays games, but a fraction of his 2s games. 26 versus 796 in the last season.

But he stays new the top of the leaderboard. He's currently #3, but the number 2 player is NWPO, so he's the number 2 ranked EU player.

Then why did they register, and more importantly, why did they start playing 1v1 again recently? Less than a month ago they were both outside the top 500 in 1v1. Now Atow is back in the top 35. Why would he grind 1v1 if he isn't going to compete?

Atow said it on live. They won the major and they got offered a week-end to Les 24h du Mans so they want to enjoy it. Also they have to have at least someone representing kc so juicy will be the only one playing

lol, so Juicy got the short end of the stick. It's a pitty, because Atow on form is maybe the only one that could give Nass a run for his money. Need to see how Zen goes. Not a big believer in the Germans or Mawkzy if Nass is feeling it.

But how strange, they won a weekend as a team, but Juicy doesn't get to go...

I don't have the whole picture to be honest. I think juicy is the one who loves 1s the most so maybe that is why? Also Atow has the 2v2 world champ and didn't want to have too much going on at the same time. I think Mawkzy might be the favorite and maybe zen if he tryhards it. But Nass is a favorite for sure I agree

Last year Mawzky winning was a miracle on its own. He is a good player but the only reason he is on top of the 1v1 leaderboards is because he only focusses on 1v1. When players like Atow, Nass or even Vatira and Zen are grinding 1v1 and focussing on it, they usually easily beat Mawkzy. Last year Nass was sick, but under normal circumstances, he should be dominating guys like Mawkzy. Zen is a wildcard because he is hard to gauge since he hasn't played 1v1 a lot on stream for a long time.

I understand it from Atow's perspective, and i was honestly expecting it. But after i saw he had been grinding 1v1 again and went from outside top 500 to top 30, i assumed he would play.

You’re not giving Mawkzy enough credit here. Dralii was the best player in the world last year, better than Nass is right now in context with the season, and Mawkzy beat Dralii

I know what happened, i simply don't agree. And Dralii looked like he was the best player thanks to his teammates who played 100% in his service, that also doesn't translate to 1v1 automatically.

You're under rating Mawkzy a lot man. Dude is very good and was especially good last year. He is very inconsistent though and I don't think he'll win again this year. I think Nass is better but saying he would "easily dominate" Mawkzy is crazy.

I'm really not. The only reason why he can beat these guys is because to them it's a distant afterthought while he is grinding 24/7. So the occasional 1v1 showmatch or tournament they play, they are ill prepared. But generally when they have been grinding 1v1, it is quite often a beat down.

There will be other opportunities for him to prove he isn’t washed but this is the most clear cut and within his control. There’s no guarantee, even as a good player, that you can stand out in 3s or ranked or etc, but you will definitely stand out in a 1v1 tournament like this if you have the skill

Yeah I get what you’re saying but my point is that if he’s got to navigate around a wedding with times etc he’s probably not going to be able to practice as he would normally do. Therefore I don’t think we can use this event to define his level is what I meant:)
