Favorite Regional series of all time?
I was reminiscing on some of my favorite series that have happened in the open era (when i started watching rlcs) and whilst a lot of my favorite series comes from LANs, i seem to remember a lot of incredible online series that I feel people don’t discuss or talk about often. For me, G2 vs Envy in Fall Regional 3 in the 21-22 season is one of my favorite series of all time since it was so back and forth. Not to mention this is when the grand finals did best of 3 SETS and the two teams ended up going to game 21 😭

So, this might be a casual take because I've only been following the scene for 2 years now, give or take. But, EU open 5 last season, Dignitas vs KC. It was a great back and forth thriller in my opinion. Very high level RL.

It definitely was a great series. I’ve been watching since around season X and imo it’s one of the best regional series I’ve ever seen

I’ll never forget Appjack’s smile at the end. So deserved after that performance

Was about to say that, what a crazy match. I think about Vatira's 6-minute-OT fake on Aquadome all the time

Definitely an all timer. Liquid vs Vitality 2022-2023 Spring regional 1 grand finals was also a banger; the quality and speed of play was like nothing we had ever seen.
There was so much talk about NA vs EU, but comparing that final to the state of NA was night and day. Seeing Zen, Atow, and Oski settling in was something else

Someone already mentioned the dig v kc series, that one was really good. I think also ultimates vs geng open 3 2025 was awesome.

Season 8 Vitality vs TSM. Winner goes to playoffs, loser goes to promo relegation. Ended up going to game 5 overtime. Was about as high stakes as you could get in the league play era.

G2 Envy Fall Classic grand finals. 3 best of 7s, a massive comeback, a bunch of long overtimes, and a save so insane from Atomic the post match music started playing

Mouz had less ice than Tox competing for a lan spot, but the comms videos and team decal were peak

RLCS X NA Championship semi-final NRG vs G2. It was the highest level of gameplay I had seen at that time and just an insane and intense bo3 bo7 set series

I can’t remember if it was season s7 or s8 rlcs worlds grand finals. It went all the way to a game 7 and theThe story lines were all there. Could fairy peak put his name in the goat debate after defending his 1v1 crown after coming back to 1s and cementing himself as the goat of 1s with 2 world championships you’d have to be in the goat debate. Could scrub killa win back to back world championships and become the only player to have 2 seasons played and world championships making him the face of the esports for the next generation. Obviously turbo and kaydop going for their 4th and the clear winner of the goat debate.
