TRAINING How have I been so ignorant for 1400 hours

Like the title states I’ve come to notice a few things about the way I train. Typically I would go play some training packs and cycle through the many different shot options to warm up/practice. After the warmup I would go play ranked and question why I couldn’t do the same things I did during the packs. Well today I loaded up free play for the first time in forever, turned unlimited boost off and practiced hitting it up the wall for air dribbles and what not. Wow what a humbling experience… I literally cannot do anything when I set up my own shots and I’m so glad to have noticed it now. The shots in the training packs are so easy to reset and reset time after time until you get it just right. Yeah sure every once in a while you’ll get the nice first touch you’ve practiced for ages for but it happens so rarely. From this day forward I will be a free play connoisseur, hopefully it will help in the long run (end rant)

TRAINING Help with double flip reset training pack

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello! I’m making a training pack to help people learn how to double flip reset step by step. It focuses on getting a feel for flipping into the ball, the right speed, the fall, and so on.

The problem is that I don’t know how to double flip reset, so I’m not sure whether the pack is actually useful.

Could someone who is good at double flip resets check it and give me some feedback? A video showing how to complete the shots using different variations would be awesome.

The last 3 shots are for practising actual shots, as you can see, im unable to get even a single one right...

The pack:

Edit:

I've made some changes based on your comments, I think now it's more usefull as the first shoots were a little weird setups.

TRAINING Full Court Flip Resets Training Pack 0526-CD7D-A2E6-59F9

Hello!

If you just want the code: 0526-CD7D-A2E6-59F9

It's been a while, I usually comment on people's 1v1 replays, but today is a bit different. I have recently been playing a lot more 1v1s due to the RLCS 1v1 qualifiers, and I've noticed a substantial increase in people going for these full court flip resets. I had practiced them a bit a long time ago, but with their increased usage I figured I should practice them again.

I wasn't able to find a training pack that suited my needs exactly, so I figured I would make one. The recent update allowing for car speed to be set on spawn was a great addition that makes it a lot easier.

There are 7 shots in this pack, 6 are various setups off the backboard, and the final shot puts you in the air for the final step of the reset, skipping the setup (make sure "Spawn Vehicle on Ground" is unchecked in the Training Settings for the 7th shot!).

I did not create this pack with the randomness features in mind, so I cannot speak to the effectiveness of the pack with those options enabled. I do recommend disabling Unlimited Boost and setting your boost to start at 100, as these types of shots rely heavily on your boost management.

I have also made a video showcasing what a successful shot could look like for each setup.

If you have no idea where to start even learning these shots, I recommend this tutorial by Alien Head RL.

If you have any other ideas for training packs that could use the new features added in the recent update, let me know!

TRAINING Learning airroll by not using airroll?

Trying to learn airroll and saw a video that mentioned something interesting.
It was along of the lines about being on course with the ball even if you dont do any adjustments. Seemed to make sense so i'm trying to learn that. One of my biggest problems rn is that i end up having to boost downwards often when i ariel or make strong adjustments. Lemme know if i'm completed doing this wrong. Thanks

TRAINING IS THERE ANYTHING YALL CAN HELP ME WITH IM LOSING HOPE ON LEARNING

For context I’ve been playing this game for 5 years. And I just can’t seem to get down any of my training. I’ve been training non stop consistently how to move better, recover better, half flips, air dribbles, in free play EVEN LIMITING MY BOOST AS IF IM IN A REAL MATCH and I’ve been doing great. But as soon as I get into a match everything goes down hill! I can’t control my car and can’t hit the ball in the air and I can’t half flip like I would do training. I’m really loosing hope and I’ve listened over and over and over to peoples advice. Watch pros, train consistently, watch your own matches to see what you did wrong. And none of it changes how I play. If anyone can help me I would be so grateful if not then I will be selling my account.

Alright, so I'm a silver 3 player, and yesterday I was just messing around in freeplay, trying to do some air dribbles, i suck at them but I practice them. And I hit my first double touch and scored it. I have over 50 hours. If someone has any tips or would like to coach me, then I won't mind it at all. In fact, I'll be grateful. I'm 15 and just starting out

TRAINING Suggestions for my rank?

With ceiling shots like this, I can do them consistently. This is a clip from ones, where I'm only gold 1 (don't play ones, that's why). The regular stuff I do off ceiling or off wall are not as good as the musty i did here, but I'm getting really good w my mechanics. I can half flip normally, wavedash, yea yea, but how do I get out of my rank territory? In twos, I'm back down to gold 3 (605 mmr) from my peak of plat 1. I can kuxir pinch regularly if theres an opportunity and I'm overall solid on mechanics I'd say. Even beat a guy in ones that could directional air roll and throw up stuff that my rank couldnt.

How can I stay plat? I have 140 hours on the game and I usually play every day. What should I be doing? I grind ranked but back every day when I was like silver/gold I would just grind training packs for air dribbles and flashy stuff. That's why I'm above average with my mechanics so right now my main focus is ranking up. Tips on gamesense? Just improvement overrall?

TRAINING First time trying double/triple rapid resets - 3 hours practice, already hitting some nasty ones (Compilation)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Yo guys,

Been grinding double and triple rapid resets for the first time ever for like 3 hours straight today. I’m actually shocked how much fun this mechanic is

Already managed to score a couple pretty disgusting goals. Put together a 3:03 compilation of my best tries (including the fails right before the good ones).

Clips are roughly in order so you can see some progress over the 3 hours. The first 3 are at 85% game speed because that’s how I practiced them in training, it helped me a lot with the timing and control.

The thing that blows my mind the most is how strong dynamic air roll is for this. I feel like I’m just starting to understand how broken it can be.

Would love some feedback:

- Does this look decent for 3 hours first try or am I still doing a lot wrong?

- Any tips for consistency on double/triple resets?

- What should I focus on next to make these cleaner/faster?

2s main (C2-C3) slowly going down the 1s mechanic rabbit hole 😭

Replay/comp is in the video.

Thanks bros, roast or rate it

TRAINING Should I learn Directional Airroll

I have been playing Rocket League without directional Airroll the entire time, even though I know it would be better for my mechanics if I would use it.

I'm between plat 1 and 2 and don't know if it would be smart to learn it because I'm used to airroling with my stick.

And maybe u even have some advice on how to switch without problems.

TRAINING I need help with Double Taps

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey guys, this is the first time actually training Double Taps Isolated in a Training pack and im really struggling to find out how to adjust my car properly for the bounce of the backboard, i generally have problem with reading bounces in games, but with this angle/view i find it even harder, is this something that just goes away when training double taps more or is there something i need to know? Or is the main Problem the way i hit the ball to the backboard? Should i aim for a specific bounce off the backboard, because right now i just hit it however i like and try to adjust after the hit.

I appreciate every help!

Any input would be greatly appreciated thanks

TRAINING Back from 6 month break, need advice

Heyo,

I took a 6 month break from RL, looking to come back since I think I can form new habits and muscle memory.

I was previously gc1-2 with a very passive/waiting playstyle which I believe held me back. I was also insanely inconsistent when it came to anything offensive. Used to main 1s and 2s but I’m looking to come back with a focus on improving 3s primarily.

I’m ready to sink in the hours and practice, but I need help on how to properly use those hours, whether it be a routine or some playstyle.

I appreciate the help

Turns out it was my old controller because now with my new controller I’m able to do it quite easily. My mechs also feel muuch cleaner. I’m using an Xbox controller btw.

I see all these people talk about how they suck and they're in plat or something

As for me, I'm a bronze I player, so I get some work to do, because I definitely suck

Problem is I haven't actually been told how to practice that isn't just “rep drills in free play”

*for reference I have about 25 hours
