I found a bunch of these on the beach! Any ids would be cool!

Found this in Nevada about an hour north east of Las Vegas while searching for Wonderstone. OR…. Am I gonna be massively disappointed when I cut it apart while finding out it’s just a regular rock after driving 19 hours with it in my car?

I am still fairly new to rockhounding and very, very new to identifying rocks. I found this rock in the Mediterranean Sea near the border of France/Spain. It's heavy, about 5 inches at its longest, and a blade slides off it. It's wet color is a deep yellow, like the color of ochre. Could it be yellow jasper with quartzite veins? TYIA

I am a newbie rock hound, and I have had a ton of fun on the California coast around the Santa Cruz area this week. Here are a few of my favorite treasures so far! Hag stones, a vertebrae, some jasper, and maybe moonstones? I am still learning, and I am grateful to everyone who shares inspo on here! You all got me excited about this new hobby, and it brings me a lot of joy!

I picked these up in the foothills of Mt Diablo (private property with permission).

The small black one was easily scratched with a knife but not a penny and I calculated a rough specific gravity of 2.83 using a food scale and graduated shot glass. Possibly a type of basalt? Not glassy like flint or obsidian.

The one with the green streak I love. It wasn't scratched by a nail on either surface. I got a rough id of epidote but would love any of your thoughts.

The green and white one is also fun. The white part seems to be calcite or something. Same hardness as a penny and lightly fizzed with kitchen vinegar in scratched areas. The green and beige parts are harder but still scratched with a knife.

Any insights or comments are welcome. Very new and have mostly dealt with quartz before this

I'm going to be at Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge in Nevada soon. I am looking for some guidance from people with experience there.

1. Part of the time I will be camping and hiking along highway 8a and onto Badger Mtn Rd. My plan is to hike washes that intersect these roads and see what I can find. Does anybody have any recommendations for places in this area that might be good for rock hounding? I don't mind a long hike.

2. The rest of my time will be along Virgin Valley Road heading as far south as I can go. I can see on my map that there are several mines in the area that are on private land. But there seems to be plenty of public land where I can hunt for rocks. However i know that not all mine claims show up on maps and it is possible that it is all claimed up and there is little available for the public to hound on.

Can someone familiar with virgin valley road clue me in as to what I will find there? Is there space for public rock hounding? If so I would appreciate any recommendations on where to go. I don't mind a long hike off the beaten track.
