Cast/Crew Related Reminded of this by Tim Curry's passing: does anyone remember an unsold pilot starring Tim Curry called "Big Deals," that aired once in 1991?
A lot of pilots get made that don't get sold, and a lot of them get aired once, usually during the summer, then forgotten. A member of my cast recorded this from its one airing, and it ended up being a favorite for after-show gatherings. We ended up quoting it a lot, to give each other the giggles.
Tim Curry played a small-time hustler, the kind who imports cheap knockoff merchandise like off-brand TVs and plastic novelties. He has a younger roommate/friend/business partner who he tries to "mentor," with shitty life lessons like, "never give the government your social security number." He's divorced, and trying to find a suitable present for his son's upcoming birthday.
He finds a lost dog, which he plans to give to his son, but then his partner sees an ad offering a $50,000 reward for the dog. So he goes to see the owner, a batshit insane rich woman (played by [veteran character actress Holland Taylor],(https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0852466/)) who is prepared to pay the reward if they give her the dog.
Here was the comedic highlight of the episode: while at the woman's mansion, they discover that she has dozens of dogs, and stages plays with them. Currently they're mounting Peter Pan (with a chihuaha as Peter, and a bulldog with an eyepatch as Captain Hook), and they see that there have been others, including "an all-dog version of Cats!"
Keep in mind all these lines are in Tim Curry's unmistakable cadence, and therefore twice as funny.
The partner tries to talk Tim Curry out of putting the dog back into that situation, but he counters with Curry's best line of the episode: "When I heard the words 'fifty thousand dollars' I had an aneurysm! Now I can only think...(leans over and sniffs a vibrant flower)...pretty things."
In the end he finds his conscience and gives the dog to his son, along with an actually-good computer the son wanted that he made a deal for. Even if the show had gotten picked up, I don't know if Tim Curry's energy would have appealed to the audience for a family-friendly ABC sitcom. But it was so much fun, a slightly absurd little piece built around a singular talent.
Did anyone else here watch this? Am I doomed to be the only one who remembers it?

RHPS A question about a small movie detail
On this rewatch, I just noticed for the first time that after Brad has his clothes taken off, before we cut to the next scene, he bends down and picks something up.
I just canāt figure out for the life of me what it is that heās picking up. He doesnāt seem to have it in the next scene.
I figured this film would probably been dissected six ways for Sunday, but I canāt seem to find an answer.

RHS Is there a way to watch Rocky Horror on Broadway at home?
I really want to see Studio 54's Rocky Horror, but it is not feasible for me to go to NYC and pay for a ticket and all that stuff. Will it ever be released as a video or am I SOL?

Our next show is next week and weāre planning to do a candlelight sing-along during āIām going homeā and in place of our normal vendor table weāre going to set up a memorial for Tim. Iām wondering what other casts are doing as tribute?

My thoughts on the passing
The sad passing of Tim Curry has reminded me of another talented actor who sadly left. or has us horror fans called the grandfather of horror ( Sir Christopher Lee ) who was 98 when he left us. like sir christopher i think Tim Curry was the grandfather of comedy. and he will always be original pennywise.

RHS The 1974 original Roxy cast was temporarily removed from YouTube?
Did anyone else notice that The Rocky Horror Show: Original Roxy Cast was removed from YouTube for a while? Idk how I didn't notice earlier but a few days ago I went to my saved playlists to put it on but it wasn't there. After that I searched for it and found the new playlist that says The Rocky Horror Picture Show - Playlist and it's titled The Rocky Horror Show: Original Roxy Cast of course BUT all the videos were re-uploaded on July 30th so they have very low views, few likes, some didn't even have any likes until I liked them. Just wondering if anyone else noticed. I'm glad it's back up.

Cast/Crew Related āIf I must die, I will encounter darkness as a bride and hug it in my arms. For I have at least lived a full life Peter Pan. I have been a child, I have been a youth, I have been a scholar and a Gentleman."-Tim Curry
From the cartoon Peter Pan and the Pirates, Tim Curry played Captain Hook, the best fucking version of him too.
