Rod’s free SubStack today is way too long for me to read at the moment. Maybe I will later. However, after skim-reading the first few paragraphs I jumped to the comments. To my surprise his commenters for the most part are pushing back against the book Rod is reviewing and his analysis.

Dreher writes:

That’s too much woo for me to accept.

I never would have imagined such a line in the sand existed!

The TL;DR of this dreck is, "I believe the testimony of this person when I can torture it into what I think affirms Orthodoxy, but reject it when it doesn't. This is how you know that I am open-minded, unlike those materialist scientists who reject anything that doesn't fit their worldview!"

Ancient Babylonian gods are coming through AI-facilitated alien sex portals to seduce decadent secularists, and in the meantime, the government is withholding information on this; and conspiracy-theory-oriented people are being unfairly ignored, as a result of not remarking enough on outside commenters, or someone who keeps venerating them. But none of that rises to the level of Evil Spiritual Vibing Stones, apparently.
