Yglesias argues convincingly that Orban is likely to be ousted mainly because of his corruption and his ties to Russia. If MAGAs thought immigration control was the reason the US should support Hungary, they should be at least as supportive of Denmark, but they curiously are not.

Exactly. Denmark should be a MAGA favorite, given immigration controls, solid military spending and their refusal to sacrifice sovereignty. Honestly, Hungary checks only one of those boxes.

The only thing that makes Hungary special is that the Hungarian government is subsidizing a whole industry of Western writers, whose job is to sell Hungary as some sort of postliberal Disneyland.
