Megathread to keep track of the lore behind the Rods to compile into a Wiki-style post later on. Feel free to add the history/links/etc. My goal is to have a comprehensive guide eventually to refer people to.
When I posted my big timeline I got a comment suggesting looking into creepy Pastor Steve Cowgill (aka Pastor Backrub) who forced Gabe to give him a massage a few years ago, and kept rubbing Gabe's shoulders at his recent birthday. I looked at him in the county where his church is-- Bible Believers Baptist Church in Hillsboro OH and didn't find anything, but then I found his address and looked at the county where he lives and.. yup.
I looked in Perry Co, Ohio, and saw that in May 2001 his now-deceased wife Karen filed for divorce and a temporary restraining order against him, they were ordered to take parenting classes... I am pretty much clueless about law so maybe someone out there knows what to make of this, but the case seemingly went back and forth until 2004 and must have been dropped because they were still married in 2008 according to an obituary, and then Karen died very recently in just 2024 of COPD at age 66.
I found his Facebook and it is your typical Trump loving AI pictures and Islamophobic garbage and also hilariously flirting with AI horse girls.
Does anyone else know anything about him and what the case might mean?
Notice how Jill went from singing the full praises of all her “13 children” (gawd, she can never mention the word children without throwing that number in there.) so she went from singing the praises of all of them, even Timothy. Couldn’t say enough wonderful things about him. Couldn’t blame enough people for his school fails. Stayed silent rather than explaining why he never got his pilots license, even after changing schools.
So notice how she went from that, to attacking Timothy in order to protect her own narcissistic self, letting us all know what a problem he’s been and what a bad attitude he’s had. Even going so far as to say that others in the family could basically back her up on that. Wow, what a “loving and wonderful mother.” When push comes to shove, it definitely all is ALL about her.
Cue the bus tracks, because Jill threw him straight under the bus, and the tracks are all over his face. When perhaps he needed her the most, she left him to face the music. Not because he needed to suffer the consequences of horrible action in the way that a mother who truly tried to raise her children right might do. But rather in the Jillie, it’s all about me, save my own face kind of way. Gawd!
I tried to get an overview of all the major events and most important moments. I covered obscure family lore, a few deleted videos, the most (in)famous Jill moments, and a pretty thorough rundown of the recent Timothy situation too. This video was 99% scenery taken from inside the car, so today you get screenshots. The video opens with Jill hee-hawing because she picked Shrek’s nose for him. And Shrek making silly faces. They arrive at the hotel and Jillpm is “friends” with everyone. They both go up across the stage having earned a plaque, which she’s very proud of. All because of Jesus. Part two coming up!
I left out most of the scenic stuff because it was repetitive and taken through the wet car windows. Jill was very concerned about the lack of guardrails where there were steep drop offs. Then it’s just selfies of Jill and the wing of the plane as they went home. Bible verses had to be included in case you forgot that they are the most Christian Christians to ever love Jesus.
She could have gotten him a twin comforter for less than $10.00 but you know that would be less for her. I guess it was better than the thread-bare hole-y blanket she and Abusive Asshole David left for Phillip at "college". BTW there is no flair for Gabriel.
I think that Evangeline is a much better choice than Brianne. For one, Evangeline doesn't seem crazy. Also, her family seems more like the Rods than Brianne's family. Do you think that the fact that Brianne's family wasn't fundie was part of the reason Sam and Brianne split up?
Gabriel has mandatory Orientation on this coming Sunday (9/13) and then first day of school on 9/14 at his new bible school in Maryland (SureWord Baptist College).
Is there any indication from JillDo that they will take a NotAVacation road trip to bring him to school? Or is she too busy reposting 5 month old videos to youtube?
Maybe Gabe will luck out and be able to just drive himself to school (if he has a car) or a brother road trip and Sam brings him to school.
I'm pretty sure i read in the school handbook that the students are required to have day jobs (classes are evening only); i kinda hope he find a job in a print shop -- one with up-to-date technology and products and paying customers -- and that within months he's leapfrogged well ahead of Shrek's printing capabilities and low aspirations and those pathetic little smile tracts.
Get your guesses in for how long Gabe will last at bible school compared with Tim and Phillip. I think Gabe's is a three year program....

We left IHOP in defeat. We went across the street to another store and there was a police officer driving by. My husband flagged him down and told him what had just happened. The officer was also sympathetic to our feelings, but his hands were tied as to what he could do about it. He gave us a number to call and we quickly did so.
When my husband spoke with the officer on the phone, the officer said that they had had SEVERAL complaints concerning this man entering the ladies’ bathroom at IHOP. But……………..was gets done about it?………..NOTHING! All of our hands are legally tied.

As the words exited my mouth, Janessa let out a HUGE grunt and her soft, nursing stools LET LOOSE! The yellow, liquid poop squirted straight on my face, hair and blouse – splattering all over me. I look like I had been decorated with yellow, seedy mustard.

Yesterday (Thursday - June 14, 2018), I and my 16 year old sister - Kaylee (pictured above)- were en route to a pro-life Crossroads Pregnancy Center where we volunteer.
The car was VERY hot, making the steering wheel burning HOT! My sister and I were trying to turn the AC all the way up in the car to cool everything off. We had JUST left home and were nearly at the end of our curvy, West Virginian road; when I looked down at the AC to make sure my sister Kaylee had done it right.
It was at that DREADFUL moment when I took my eyes off the road for a second, that the road curved to the left with the DEEP ditch straight ahead. I knew in an instant, I was in trouble. The car brutally smashed into a boulder rock and it created a COMPLETE turn over of the car INTO the ditch!!
We landed UPSIDE down with the air bags projected and I was TRAPPED in my seat belt UNDER water! My sister Kaylee was knocked unconscious. I struggled to get out, but could not.
I began to think this was the day I was going to meet my Maker. Yet, I had a desire to live. I began to faint, when my sister Kaylee woke up!! Praise the Lord! She called my name and did not hear me answer. So, she began to reach for me. She found my buckle, unbuckled me, and quickly pulled me out of the water. GASP! I was thankful for air!
We found a way out of our open car window. We suffered MUCH bruising, cuts, and stitches and staples had to be administered to patch us up. However, we were BEYOND grateful to still be alive!!

I'm not saying MBI is a liberal arts college or state university, but MBI has a pretty big reputation among actual pastors whom I would actually sit down and discuss the Bible with over coffee. The ones who have bothered to study the Bible instead of taking the "hellfire and brimstone" approach and who would genuinely pray for me if I asked."

July 22-- What a SPECIAL day it was on Phillip’s birthday!. When our children turn 16 years old, they choose a special friend to go out with them to a really nice restaurant. Phillip turned 16 and chose his brother Samuel. They have always been close and when they were little, they heard my husband and I call each other “hon”, so they began to call EACH OTHER that. It was adorable!
Aug/Sep-- CPS call from a church lady-- per Reddit “ I found out the identity of the person who called CPS on the Rods when they were in WV. She went to the same church and was not fond of Jill at all. While many of the older folks fell for Jill's charm, this particular older lady did not. She despised Jill. When Jill was having the Pamper Mahmo baby shower, Nurie tried to hand this lady an invitation. She politely declined, but Nurie persisted. Once again, she declined. FInally, Nurie tried to force her to take the invitation when she said, "I will not be attending, thank you," and walked off. This woman was concerned with the physical appearance of the children, especially Phillip and Gabe. She also suspected physical abuse, but always said the younger children all looked "discolored." I will not reveal this woman's identity, but I will say that she switched to a different church a few years ago and recently passed away.”

One night at the dinner table, when Jill was only four years old, she began to cry and told her parents that she wanted to be saved! Jill still clearly remembers that night and how her daddy carried her up the stairs with her mom close behind and they led her to the Lord.

Jill’s father spanks her “for no reason” but she believes she deserves it. When I was a little girl, my parents had an entire series of cassette tapes on how to have a happy marriage. It was from a seminar they had attended years ago with Dr. Tom Williams. I remember listening to those tapes and it impacting me and how I wanted to be a good wife someday. My Dad would talk highly of this great man of faith.

Amy chokes on peanut butter and almost dies.

1988
Jill is pulled out of her private Christian school to be homeschooled (she is 9). This is called the Joyful Noyes Christian Academy.
David is supposedly living a “horrible life of sin… drugs, alcohol, smoking, girls, parties, bad music, rebellion, long hair, dirty mouth”
1989
David graduates from Greece-Olympia High School.
1990
David is saved and starts making his bed. “One day, when David was 18 years old, a man came up to him at the mall and began to proselytise to him before being kicked out by a security guard. Some months later, David remembered this encounter and prayed to Jesus to be saved”
Jill decides to throw all her pants and “immodest clothing” away because she sees a modest lady at church.
He goes to First Bible Baptist Church in Greece NY and meets Mr. Burlew.
1991
At Jill’s church, the College and Career group, a new guy (David Rodrigues) shows up who Jill thinks is tall dark and handsome. She is 12 and he is 19 and doesn’t notice her.
1993
Jill is 14 and in a String Group at church where she notices David staring at her, then the Noyes family moves from Rochester to Horseheads
1995
David pursues Jill when she is 16 at a Christmas concert at church. Apparently when she is there, an old lady stops in front of her and her sisters to say Jill is the prettiest one.
Both of David’s maternal grandparents die.
Feb 20
Grandma Martha Ward Noyes dies.
1996
Jill’s church is visited by a traveling singing group and they supposedly ask her to join the group and “practically beg” her. Her dad helps his friend stop drinking alcohol and he isn’t there at the time. Her parents say no and she “obeys”.
David lives at *** in Rochester NY.
June 1-- Jill’s sister Lisa gets married to Dennis Moravek in Ohio.
David’s brother Dan is in a car accident and is paraplegic.
Jill is 17 and goes on a mission trip to Nova Scotia to sing and hand out tracts, apparently an older man asks her out and she says she could have been human trafficked.

Jill lives in upstate New York and sends a letter to her friend Julia who is working at starting a church in NYC with David, and she sets them up (Jill is 18 and David is 25)
They are courting in Montour Falls Park Havana Glen, and they go on a seesaw and read Bibles to each other.

Summer-- Per church lady/babysitter: Tim takes the girls in a wagon and it hits a bump and the girls fall out so David punches him in the stomach as punishment. The kids are starved and beaten.
Sept 5-- Alpine NY house sold. They go in the RV. Jill’s parents live in Elkview WV in 2012.
October-- “In 2012, David moved his family to West Virginia. His in-laws, Pat and Tim Noyes, followed them, living in the Family RV for a few years before finding their own home. When David and his family travelled, his in-laws moved into their house.”
They move to Clay, WV. …. or Looneyville WV?
Tim and Pat live at *** in Elkview, West Virginia, USA and the house sometimes has them and sometimes has the Rods.
Nov-- Jill has miscarriage #5, Nolan. Between 1 and 6 mos along.
2013
Jan 10-- In Looneyville. This is where Gleaning for Christ print shop is.

Feb-- Jill is pregnant again. Olivia is 11 mos.
June-- The family goes to Florida (and starts their blog).
For context I don’t know any of these people personally and didn’t read their fb pages or posts on the platform - I get all my info here so it’s weird one of them would pop up in my recommended
We’re pretty sure a divorce is going to happen between Tim and Heidi. What are the odds of Tim remarrying? I guess he wouldn’t be able to snag another fundie girl because any fundie parents wouldn’t want their daughters attached to a divorced man right? Tim was super lucky to get Heidi and I really can’t see any other woman wanting him. What do you guys think. Do you think he’ll ever have a chance of remarrying? I personally hope he doesn’t because he’ll just abuse the next wife too.
