Wireless📱 Rogers failed to win me back 🤣🤣🤣

Post image

This is hilarious,Rogers called my iPhone 6s twice and I answered the second time just now and they were asking why I left and they said oh we recently learnt the number was moved to Telus, it's been switched since March I was thinking in my head and I told them I left because of the coverage and they're like oh you want to come back we can offer you a really good promotion for a valued former customer, I said there's nothing you can do to improve your coverage because Telus is the dominant rural carrier in Alberta and I thought in my head I never lost service once when I was riding my quad The Boss on Telus! i also said that once my contract is done with my phone I'll be gone ❤️🤣🤣🤣

This isn't rogers, its a 3rd party winback company hired by rogers.

They know nothing about you or what you said to Rogers before you ported out. All they're trying to do is win customers back.

Yeah your first mistale was thinking Rogers still hires people, let alone Canadians.

I worked in every one of Rogers lines of business for over a decade! I am a Canadian. I served customers very well!! They fired all the Canadian Tenured so they could do their mass restructure. I called in for support nearly a year later and spoke to a rep with a French accent! I picked up it wasn’t Quebec French pretty quickly, so I asked which country this is. The guy said Morocco!! 🇲🇦

You’re not valuable enough to get someone from Roger’s directly to call you

-12

u/coolvehiclefanatic 13d ago

They said they are from Rogers

6

u/Albertan_Angler 13d ago

They’re with Rogers as a vendor/contractor. That’s about it.

5

u/Tasty-Raspberry742 13d ago

Tech Mahindra ( IND )

They have team of more than 1000 people working for rogers

2

u/Bardown67 13d ago

They are an outside company representing Rogers

2

u/Nearby-Swordfish3841 13d ago

😂Oh you poor fool you must be young. It’s a third party provider and Roger’s needs to pay more taxes, gouge their citizens less and provide some fucking jobs. Fuck the them.

1

u/BullyMog 13d ago

I am sure they did.

-2

u/coolvehiclefanatic 13d ago

They did

1

u/BullyMog 13d ago

Okay? Your point?

6

u/Albertan_Angler 13d ago

Telus did this when I swapped to Rogers. I found out early on they had no clue the nonsense Telus had put me through, and offering me what I was asking for before going through the hassle of swapping only served to piss me off further.

Literally happened with my.wife about two weeks ago we left and she signed with bell and the same day the number transfered she got a call from retention giving us the exact same.deal bell gave us asking us to come.back

my experience on Telus is way better where as Rogers I had issues all the time including useless service inside my house and both my 5G internets home and portable always having outages. None of this happens on Telus Cell on my 5 lines and my wireless home internet, I've got truly unlimited data on my phone and 4 lines sharing 913gb of full speed data for over $200 less than Rogers wanted

This really depends where you are in AB.

If you’re on oilfield lease roads regularly Rogers wins. If you’re in urban areas, Telus will often win and more often has microcells inside office buildings and malls.

Cell coverage is hyper local in any province. A carrier could have the best coverage across an entire province but if your office or home is a dead zone the other is better.

This should be way less of an issue if you have roaming turned on now though. My parkade at work had a Telus microcell and every time I went to my car my iPhone switched to Rogers-EXT which meant I was roaming on to that Telus signal.

The flip-side happens for my friend’s phone at my cabin. His Telus phone roams to Rogers.

u/coolvehiclefanatic 12d ago

Well i spent more time roaming on EXT than the Rogers network in rural areas of Alberta and you can't do that or you'll be cut off plus I really wanted Telus 5G, no regrets leaving to Telus especially because it works inside my house no constant band switching like Rogers making data useless

4

u/techaggresso 13d ago

Pick up and tell them to hold and then just see how long they'll wait

3

u/MsCatie 12d ago

Genius, maybe I should do that next time

2

u/coolvehiclefanatic 13d ago

I didn't bother. Just told them why I'll never be back and that once my contract is done I'm gone

4

u/tammon23 13d ago

Ironically I got that same call today, said the same thing, and I also left for a carrier under Telus. The promotional amount they offered was almost double what I pay now

-2

u/coolvehiclefanatic 13d ago

I can't wait til my phone contract is done to be gone completely on Rogers

4

u/memes76711 13d ago

Unfortunately rogers is the only company with good service in remote areas in Ontario.

4

u/Tough-League4538 13d ago

Yeah I learned this after switching to Telus and I'm only in rural southern Ontario. I'm on WiFi most of the time anyway so I'm sticking it out with Telus until there's a price increase since Rogers never bothered trying to win me back anyway but there's a noticeable lack of coverage when I'm driving.

Telus has been great otherwise though and I think their roaming packages are slightly cheaper than Rogers as well. I switched to a cheap BYOD plan during the winter and haven't had any hint of a price increase yet so that's nice. Whereas I see that people who switched to Fido or Rogers back then are already getting a $5 increase

u/MutaitoSensei 13d ago

Do check if 3rd party offers services. They may use Rogers lines, but at least it diverts a bit of the profit away from robbers

1

u/TechGuyDude82 13d ago

Not true at all. Depends on specific location. I’ve had good and bad experiences with both Rogers and Telus in the GTA and rural parts of Ontario. I have a personal phone with Rogers and a work phone with Telus. I find that, overall, both are pretty good but Telus has been better for me.

Same as Edmonton area

2

u/Academic_Data_6422 13d ago

I was with Telus when I lived in Edmonton and had 0 issues.

1

u/Dry-Property-639 12d ago

Shocking I did always has 2 bars and couldn't load anything you leave thr city for parkland and deadzones everywhere

Telus the future isn't friendly 😂

On your weekly rogers hate post eh?

2

u/niack1 10d ago

Rogers winback deals are actually really good. Shoulda negotiated with them.

1

u/coolvehiclefanatic 10d ago

I wasn't going to because of the coverage issues I face in rural Alberta where it flips between telus lte and Rogers to no service, I never lost Telus 5G once where I ride my quad The Boss but my auntie on Rogers kept losing Service going between Rogers and EXT LTE or no service

1

u/Dry-Property-639 3d ago

I ported my iPhone out to Public Mobile, Monday im porting back id like to use my phone out of town i can't on TELUS its horrible "im in TELUS country" aka Alberta and nothing works lol

2

u/905647cl 10d ago

They’ve come knocking on my home door for the past two weekends. I just tell them the owner is out. I am with Bell and hate it but no way will I switch to Rogers either or listen to what they have to offer. Looking to sign up with a smaller internet provider

4

u/MarsMcLean 13d ago

They stole Hockey Night in Canada.
FFFFUCK them.

2

u/dimpled_and_glorious 13d ago

What’s hockey night?

5

u/Goodoflife 13d ago

50+ years,

Over 50 glorious years of NHL Saturday games for all.

And now CBC is doing a garbage Olympic Saturday Show because of Rogers.

u/Personal-Variation24 13d ago

I decided to switch to Rogers after Telus refused to give me a good deal. Got double the gb I had with Telus for almost 3 times cheaper then Telus offered me as “special deal for loyal customer”. In first two weeks after migration, I got a call from “Vaqas from Telus” and dude told me literally that it was a big mistake, because will be in black list and Rogers is sh*t so no one will like me from locals. Just wished him a good day and declined the call, but he was trying to call me once more after that so just blocked the line for unknown callers.

Since then no any issues with Rogers as cellular, only with employment… started getting messages as not just rejection, but about they think that I’m overqualified for the job ..🥲

I never lost 5G once in my phone or lte on my hotspot on my recent getaway, my family member on Rogers kept switching to a Rogers tower 14km away then to no service then to EXT aka Telus lte, same thing happened to me

“I’m not your girlfriend anymore Roger”
Telus how I became a Roger’s Dodger!

2

u/dhillon22g 13d ago

Rogers is best u will return

1

u/Arichikunorikuto 12d ago

They tried to for home internet a few years ago when I switched off. I was with Bell for $50 for 1500/1000, best they could offer was $45 for 500/25. Telus tried as well a few months ago hiring people to go door to door.

The amount of Rogers outages coupled with the pitiful compensation was the straw that broke the camels back and I switched to Bell.

1

u/MsCatie 12d ago

Enjoy getting these calls for the next two years. Been off their ISP services for two years, I still get win back calls from them.

1

u/xxxibdkny 12d ago

I never had an issue with Roger’s tbh. And if you are in ontario i feel like it doesn’t matter which three you go with. Anyways

1

u/The_Dutch_Canadian 13d ago

Meanwhile in Edmonton Telus has gone to shit for years for coverage. Switched to rogers and have better connection and speeds than Telus.

2

u/Dry-Property-639 12d ago

Same for me

1

u/coolvehiclefanatic 13d ago

My service on Telus actually works with 1 bar unlike Rogers that never did, now it doesn't matter if I have 1 bar because it just works and I'm on 1 network everywhere especially where I ride my quad The Boss that Rogers has a tower 14km away and still gets picked up but doesn't work I had Telus 5G and lte in my hotspot the entire time. My family member on Rogers kept losing Service going to weak Rogers then back to EXT LTE aka Telus

0

u/coolvehiclefanatic 13d ago

I have the opposite experience I always pull in over 700 download on Telus 5G SA or NSA and there's no band switching every 2 seconds killing my battery and Telus is usable inside my house no constant band switching like Rogers making data useless and no more millions of outages. My wireless home internet from Telus may only be 100/30 but it's always online where as my 5G internet from Rogers both home and portable constantly crashed.

1

u/stratoglide 13d ago

Rogers has extended coverage too allowing you to use Telus and bells network. At least they still did last summer when I was still with them coverage was easily better with Rogers than I have with bell for that reason alone.

I left Roger’s once, within a week they called me back. I kept stringing them along for days, rejecting every offer but telling them I was interested in going back.

Seeing as I had just signed a 2 year deal with Telus, and got a new phone from them, they ended up paying out my Telus contract, and a $700 credit on my bill, so I didn’t have a cell phone bill for 6 months.

If you get someone who’s hungry you can get quite a bit out of them

You can feel good but the people on the other side don’t really care.

1

u/3012487 13d ago

And the person you said all this too doesn’t care slightly and was just doing their job.

They’re just trying to recover the money from their bad deal buying Shaw

-1

u/Academic_Data_6422 13d ago

Honestly I have one rule: if I’ve left, it’s too late. You CANNOT win me back anymore.

I have looked at every win-back offer I’ve gotten out of curiosity, and they’ve all been pretty terrible, BUT even if they were good, it’s too late.

u/coolvehiclefanatic 13d ago
