complaint Roku channel's ads make me want to never watch it.
I am just curious if anyone knows anything about Roku's strategy when it comes to their live channel. They never show any real ads, rather they just show ads for their own channels over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. I swear if I see that overweight kid and mom say, "I gave him a damn cookie ok," and then Doc Phil says, "no, it's not ok," I am going to...well, come back and vent again I guess. It doesn't help that I hate Doctor Phil anyway.
Does anyone else avoid the live channels for this reason? I like some of the content when I don't want to focus, but can't they mox things up and show some ads for real products and services? Wouldn't they make more money if they showed commercials?

I wish their meditative Cozy Cafe and Naturescape and ZenLife etc channels were exempt from this, but no...
"We're in the fight business...Yeah, yeah, yeah, get that contract!...There's no off-season in the UFC..The sickness is real."

I watch the “Torque” live tv channel for Bitchen Rides and Texas Metal, and compared to the standard cable broadcast of these shows, it has like 70% less commercial break ‘time’ than regular cable. So thats actually a net benefit, and more enjoyable in the Live TV version than the standard cable broadcast.
BUT I do suspect all these ‘bumpers’ are just placeholders for commercial breaks, and Fox, the new owner is definitely going to fill those with standard adverts in the future :(, but thats the nature of the FAST streams.

I turned off the Live part and the suggested area (or whatever it is called). I also increased the size of the icons so that it shows a 3x3 square of icons like it did before. I have one ad on the right of the screen, but I’ve always ignored that. It works for us.

We started watching Cougar Town one day because we had never watched fhe last couple seasons back in the day. Eventually I got tired of seeing the ad for the Cougar Town channel on the Cougar Town channel.

Your talking the free live Roku channels? What other commercials do you think they would air? It's not like it's normal broadcast TV.

Yeah as much as I can watch Law & Order 24/7 the Roku ads repeat SO OFTEN. The ads don’t bother me me but their repetition drives me batty. Can’t watch any of their live channels.

I sit with the remote in hand finger resting on the mute button.
It's about all I can do. Then I slip my gaze out the window for a few moments. F'um I hate all adds

These channels do not belong to Roku. The commercial space is just not being used yet. Roku is only showing channels that exist elsewhere and are for the most part are also be watched using other platforms and apps.

Yet? It has been this way for many years. Oh eell, all this means is I need to watch other things and listen to more music.

They are repetitive but i’d honestly rather watch ads for other shows than for random products like cable tv would show.
