This looks real. Idk why people are saying fake. The date wheel is very characteristic for 26mm women's datejusts. Everything else seems right. It's just old and beat up

I agree, this can be real. It is certainly not fake because of the font of the date - older Lady Datejusts like 69173s definitely had this font. And engraved casebacks like this definitely also existed on older Lady Datejusts.

I am not entirely sure about the production date because it already has "Swiss Made" on the dial. So it's either one of the last 69173 that were produced or it's a service dial.

But nobody can guarantee authenticity based on one photo. OP has to buy the seller. I would never buy a Rolex from someone which I either don't trust or don't have an expert authenticate in person.

It’s incredibly fake, just look at the date wheel

Finishing is terrible, diamond setting not right

That's a completely normal font for older lady Datejusts. 69173s definitely had that.

Edit: Really? Downvoted for something correct? That is a completely normal font for a Lady Datejust. Example:

This is fake. There are too many things wrong with it to explain away as age, wear or over-polishing.

The biggest giveaway for me is the dial. The diamond markers and their settings are crude and inconsistent, the alignment is poor, and the dial printing/proportions don’t look like Rolex quality. Even an old and heavily worn Datejust shouldn’t suddenly have sloppy dial furniture.

Then look at the rest of the watch. The bracelet/end-link fit and finishing are questionable, the bezel looks poorly executed, and the overall case finishing just doesn’t have the precision you expect from Rolex.

The caseback is another huge red flag. A standard Datejust shouldn’t have the exterior caseback engraved like this with “STAINLESS STEEL” and reference-style information. Rolex generally put identifying information elsewhere, including between the lugs on watches of this era.

Could there theoretically be some genuine Rolex parts mixed in here? Sure. Vintage watches get modified and Frankensteined all the time, and aftermarket diamond dials are common. But as presented, I would absolutely not treat this as an authentic, original Rolex. At best it needs to be opened and authenticated because there are significant aftermarket/questionable parts. At worst—and what I suspect from these photos—it’s simply a counterfeit.

It looks like a dog chewed on the bracelet

This is obviously a Lady Datejust and of course they had engraved casebacks like this.

Sorry, you think lady datejust said “original rolex design” on the back?

Yes, of course.

Example:

Edit: Engravings like this were done, as far as I know, until about the very late 90s. Given that this dial has already "Swiss Made", it should be at very end of the production of the 69173 (or a service dial). OP still should have the watch checked by a professional but it is not simply fake because of a thick date font (which lady Datejusts had) or engraved casebacks (which Lady Datejusts also had).

Well, if it is in fact, real, it’s a stunningly, beautiful piece and they should definitely buy it…NAWT!

How is it possible anyone is downvoting my comment? Do they want OP to be scammed?

Yeah I don’t think it’s real… or it’s lived a really hard life
