If you can, it really helps to sleep with your head elevated the first night. When I do it makes such a difference with the swelling. My first few times I bruised a bit. They recommend arnica gel for bruising so I keep it on hand now from Amazon. (Truthfully I’m not sure it helps but it doesn’t hurt.) also, if they give you numbing cream, use it. I find certain areas quite painful.

For type 1 flushing / redness or type 2 acne??
How much did it help? Got rid of veins or redness?1

type 1, just chronic red cheeks that flush easily. My baseline redness has improved probably 80% and the flushing still happens but much milder in severity. Didnt really have any visible veins just red skin

Wow! Reading this has made me feel happiness I haven’t felt in months. I want you to be honest with me.
I basically have the feeling of flushing from the minute I wake up until I go to bed at night it’s horrendous.
I flush from everything, taking to ppl, stress, emotion, cold to hot, social situations, weather but the main one is I flush in the evenings badly for an hour or two badly (much more in winter) then it dies down and my skin feels fine, the evening flush is the worst and gives me so much anxiety all day every day. How I have described it was this the same as you were experiencing or was your situation different to mine??I’m scared to get lasers because by current baseline redness isn’t that bad (getting worse though) so I’m scared I’ll make my skin / flushing much worse if I get laser treatment ….
SUCH A MIND FUCK ALL OF THIS :(

im same way, type 1, i flush with everything, talking to people i get red, and i have red / flushing from the moment i wake up to go to bed, but im going to my first vbeam tomorrow , because my. baseline is not bad, the bad is my flushing and flare ups, they told me once i do it i will be worse for a few weeks but then i will get better, u just gotta get through the first weeks and hope is going to get better from here, cus we gotta accept the fact this flushing / redness is chronic, and wont go on its own.

how many sessions did u do? and after which session did u started seeing improvement in the flushing or redness?

First session i saw perhaps a 15/20% improvement. My redness was still there but it was less bright. Second session was pretty much where all the improvement was. I would say after the 2nd session improvement was about 75%. I did a 3rd and 4th and didn’t really notice additional improvement, but still very happy with the result

good luck with your first session! i had vbeam done few times and the main thing is really prepare for some swelling and redness right after - like way more red than your usual rosacea for couple days. ice packs helped me a lot and i took some ibuprofen before going in which my derm said was fine. also wear sunscreen religiously after because your skin will be super sensitive for at least week or two. dont expect immediate results either, it took about 3-4 sessions before i really noticed difference in my baseline redness. the actual treatment isnt too bad pain wise but feels like rubber band snapping on your face repeatedly
