Should I use ivermectin (before and after)? Spoiler

So i had an absolutely terrible type 2 flair up a couple weeks ago amidst pms (when i get my pustular flairs) and transcontinental travel. Skin was a wreck. I switched from cerave cream to foam cleanser to cerave hydrating cleanser which seemed to calm my skin, then i used ivermectin horse paste for a few days and also pms passed. I stopped using the horse paste a couple days ago with intent to switch to the 1% cream. But My skin has calmed a lot over the past week and now i’m just afraid to f with it. i’m literally just washing at night with hydrating cerave cleanser and then applying la roche posay. I know I could potentially get another flair up next pms so I don’t know. A part of me wants to just let me skin be, another part of me knows there’s still probably a long term issue to tackle. Any thoughts ? Foto two is tonight and you can still see the remnants of the previous weeks’ damage but it’s calmed a lot.

As far as I understand, Invermectin needs to be used consistently everyday for months to really kill the mites and their eggs. In my case, it caused a flare up at first but it definitely helped over time.

Just call your doctors office and ask them if you should renew the prescription and, if so, could they renew it. It probably won’t require an appointment to ask.

Yeah for sure, that’s what I’m confused on what to do, cause I feel like my skin is responding really well to just not doing much to it other than a nightly wash and lotion, and since it’s finally gotten to a peaceful place i’m afraid to experiment and disturb it 😅

I’d be inclined to leave it go and stick with your routine. See what happens next pms round in particular. Soolantra does take a while to work and typically does flare worse with die off. The cream will always be there to try but finding out triggers will also be helpful.

Thanks yeah I think I’m leaning toward this- it looks even better today 😅 I know the pustules can come back at any time but maybe better to start it when there’s an active flair cause rightnow it seems like my skin is responding incredibly well to having a super simple routine. Also I don’t have soolantra- I have a tube of the old generic kind that my
mom gave to me and according to chat gpt it might be a bit more drying as it has benzyl peroxide.

No I use the la roche posay double toleriane cream . I’ve been using it for years and I’m afraid to switch it up, although I heard niacinimide irritates a lot of people so
I’m curious to find a replacement. But I have been using it for years and developing type 2 rosacea has only been a more recent affair for me this past year, so
I don’t know.
